ARCHIVED So Glad I Found This Forum!
beelzebubble replied to traveljunkie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
welcome i'm glad you found this site too. it's been a source of very necessary information and comfort to me these last few years. i know it will be to you too. i just have to ask, just in case...have you done a round of probiotics to help your intestines get healthy after being on the antibiotics? i've found that it really helps. i know it... -
welcome i'm glad you found this site. i think you will find that your frustrations will be echoed here. you aren't alone. and that is a wonderful thing. i hope you continue to feel better. bubble

i would definitely mention it to your doctor. but, some things to keep in mind. some people just have flushing reactions to alcohol. especially those with rosacea. and those with ruddy skin (like me). is it all alcohol, or just some? if it is wine mostly, i might wonder if you were reacting to the sulfites. do you get the flushing at other times...

hi all, so, i wrote this post a while ago Open Original Shared Link and seem to be having some good results with some really powerfull b vitamins. i've started to do some research because of this, and one of the things that came up was pernicious anemia. i found this to be especially interesting because i've been having problems with my tongue...

ARCHIVED Pcos And Celiac....any Connection?
beelzebubble replied to melisadki's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
i have often wondered the same thing. i have pcos and celiac. i have yet to find anything that states a link between the two. however, they are both closely linked with autoimmune thyroid disease. there is also a correlation between pcos and ibs. hmmmm..... i can't help but wonder if they just haven't noticed a correlation yet. neither disorder is... -

i just thought i would post this, as i'm feeling pretty good for the first time in a while. i took a b vitamin complex yesterday morning. i used to take these all the time, but i've been pretty bad about it for the last year. well, within half an hour of taking them, a lot of the symptoms that i'd come to associate with my episodes were just gone. how...

okay...so, i'm having some sort of episodes of something. i have no idea what, and i wanted to run it by you before i freak out and run off to the doctor (which i will probably do anyway, but you are always my first source of info). okay, so, here are the weird symptoms...it usually starts when i can't sleep one night because my heart is pounding and...

not according to the customer service people. i drank half of a snapple, got really nauseous, threw up on the floor in the guest room and called their customer service number. they told me that the caramel color was derived from barley malt. they said that the diet was gluten-free. not the regular. unless something has changed??!!?? this was about ...

ARCHIVED My Husband Is The Best.
beelzebubble replied to frenchiemama's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
my husband is fantastic. i mean, really really fantastic. he is so supportive. i do most of the cooking and there has never been a question of there being anything gluteny involved. he also knows how to check to make sure something is gluten free, so whenever he cooks, i know that it's safe. he only goes to the restaurants that i can eat at (at least... -
ARCHIVED Making A Roux?
beelzebubble replied to gabrielle's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
my husband swears by corn flour for his roux. he says it has both the right consistency and the right flavor, which is harder to come by. but, that is for cajun food. for other foods where the roux is a stronger component of the flavor, i agree that rice might be better. -

is he constipated? i know that sounds odd, but when i'm constipated i get awful gas that backs up into my chest and makes my chest feel tight. the first symptom is usually irregular heart beat. if i start forcing myself to burp, it gets better. sometimes i don't even realize that i am constipated, and then i start to get that feeling...i think back and...

ARCHIVED Anyone Else Cried Over This?
beelzebubble replied to skoki-mom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
for me, these days, it's not so much about the foods i can't have (though i do miss me some puff pastry), it's about the way it impacts other people in my life. i feel so absolutely frustrated and mortified when someone wants to go out to dinner with me, or invite me to dinner at their home. i know that either they are going to have to alter what they want... -
ARCHIVED Supportive Spouses?
beelzebubble replied to Mjohnson73's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
you've been gluten-free for 1 1/2 weeks. this is going to be a learning process for both of you. i have to say that when i first went gluten free, my hubby was supportive but thought i was being an extremist. his motto was everything in moderation. he did what i asked, but only just. however, he did consent to eat gluten free at dinner and i thank him... -
you can buy some raw dairy products at whole foods (here in cali). i really don't have a problem with raw veggies. i already eat about 40-50% raw. fruits for breakie, and veggies for lunch, with some nuts for protein (or cheese-whatever floats my boat at the time). all in all, my digestion is not so bad since going gluten free. it's the other things...

ARCHIVED How Can Someone Respond To An Unpinned Post?
beelzebubble replied to a topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
hehe. sorry. i know that . that wasn't exactly what i meant. i guess i was just thinking that pinning all of the posts doesn't seem to make much sense to me. a moderator has to pin a post for it to show up at the beginning of the forum message list. and then it acts (as in, moving up or down the queue with or without new posts) exactly the same way a... -
i'm curious to see if anyone has tried a raw diet to help with healing and weight issues. i know there are several different takes on this (with several different dietary implementations), but i am most interested in a predominantly raw diet with raw dairy and cooked meats. any thoughts?

ARCHIVED Celiac And Psychological Effects
beelzebubble replied to mandigirl1's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
it always makes me sad when i see these kinds of posts. i DO have issues with food obsession. you can't help it when you have to scrutinize everything you eat. but, i have no problem with food choices or variety. food can be fun-even gluten free food . you just have to open your mind about what you eat. AND...most importantly...you have to learn to... -
