  1. When I get glutened my stomach swells up huge, both at the bottom and right above my belly button and I pretty much just have to wait for it to go back down, I really haven't found anything that helps it go down. Also, the area right under my breastbone and above my bellybutton gets very tender to the touch. It also looks kind of weird, like there's a little...
  2. I was also going to point out that we just got out our deep frier and made Ore Ida fries, and chicken wings (with Moores gluten free buffalo wing sauce)and I feel fine. A little full, but fine.
  3. So the other day I got really sick after eating some soup that I make that I eat all the time. I use chicken broth and make it by the bowl because its fast, and I cut up vegetables (which I touch with my fingers) and put them in there. As soon as I was done eating my stomach swelled, I got a headache, and got an urge to take a nap. The next day I was...
  4. I don't understand how I was able to eat the way I did when I was a teen and still feel so good. I used to live off soda, Taco Bell, and fried foods. Now even healthy stuff can make me feel like my stomach is swollen like a watermelon. I weight like 95 pounds in high school and since going gluten free I think I've gained a little weight while eating healthier...
  5. I may try keeping a food diary. I've started drinking a ton of water too. Normally I just have coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day, but I don't drink that much unless I am exercising. I ave already cut out dairy because I was obviously getting stomachaches from it. I've tried gluten free crackers from Blue Diamond and also these gluten...
  6. I did double check it, and the guy at the store read over it for me as well, it says no gluten, no yeast, no lactose and no sugar. This problem did start before I started taking it though. Could I really be sensitive enough to react from kissing. What about sharing a water?
  7. I have considered that perhaps I am just that sensitive to gluten too. I can't eat many things that say "gluten free" on them.
  8. I had thought that at first, but I don't know...there is hardly any gluten in the house except for my husband's bread and his beer. Thats about it. I was feeling good for a long time and now I feel like every time I eat I get sick. And there shouldn't have been any cross contamination with the chips and juice I ate. Last time that happened, where I kept getting...
  9. My doctor offered to send me to a nutritionist soon but I'm not sure what that will so for me. The last time I saw him he suggested I may have other food allergies because I still get sick every day. I am gluten free and dairy free for about 5 months now and all of a sudden it got worse. I get sick almost everyday, and especially every time I eat out...
  10. Also, does anyone know anything about Candida? I was recently on antibiotics for two weeks about a month ago. I have been getting so bloated after eating anything...even something I was fine with the night before. I tried a mini candida cleanse like 3 months ago and I really felt like it helped with my digestion. Does anyone have any personal experience with...
  11. Is it typical for secondary intolerances to go away like that? I miss milk and butter...lol.
  12. Ange, Are you wondering if you should try eliminating gluten too? Just because you tested negative for Celiac doesn't mean you don't have it. I had to go gluten free on my own because nobody would listen to me.
  13. Yes! It is nice to be able to relate to someone. I have also read that Celiac has to be triggered by something, like an illness. I got sick a lot in college, as I think most people do. So, I'm not sure what could have triggered it. We're you actually diagnosed? You said your dad was a doctor so does he accept it? I still get bothered because I think...
  14. We do sound so much alike! Why do so many people first notice symptoms in college?
  15. Um, I was sick for about 2 1/2 years. I am 22 and just suddenly got "sick" one day in college. I was constantly constipated, laxatives didn't help, and more symptoms just kept coming up (stomach pain, stomach swelling, a feeling of needing to eat every 2 hours). I used to just get "hit" by hunger and my hands would shake, I would cry and get irritable. I...
  16. I was just gonna say that I love spicy food and eat it all the time no problem, but when I get glutened I get terrible heartburn. I used to always have heartburn but when I went gluten free I guess it stopped. Also, I've had stomach ulcers since I was 14, and if I take too much ibuoprofen I get one. So my point is don't think gluten can't affect things...
  17. I am gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant, and have been off gluten for about 5 months now. I haven't been tested for Celiac because my doctor doesn't think its a good idea, as I would have to eat gluten for 8 weeks ( and I agree). However, I am still getting sick. He told me to watch when I get sick and suggested I may be carbohydrate intolerant in general...
  18. Wow, I had the exact opposite reaction, I reacted to every prick, even the prick of pure water. I was told they ha only seen this a few times and it was likely due to sensitive skin. They followed with a blood test that only tested for like 5 things, but I came out barely positive for eggs (which I read the main symptom is skin problems). I had gone in to...
  19. Sometimes I get stomach cramps and pain and I use Roliads (one of the mint kinds) and if it is really bad I use heat.It helps relax the muscles. Sometimes I get a really hot shower.
  20. I see. So this test would likely be negative since I have been off gluten so long? This is frustrating. I just want proof, besides how I feel, that I should stay off gluten permanently, especially since my doctor thinks my intolerance is temporary. I don't know that I have found any proof that gluten intolerance is temporary. To the OP, I think that decision...
  21. A lot of Yogi teas are gluten free (they list the 3 or 4 that aren't on the website and on the boxes it says "contains barley" under the ingredients list). I like the detox tea (it doesn't taste very good) but it helps me go number 2, lol.
  22. I take the Ultra Mega Womens from GNC and they are labeled gluten free, dairy free etc. However they are expensive, and my doctor says that they are really more vitamins than necessary for a normal person. I am looking to switch to something cheaper.
  23. Ok, I don't mean to sound dumb, but what does the initial blood test actually test for? I have not been diagnosed with Celiac disease but have been gluten free for a few months now. I don't think my doctor knows much about Celiac because he acknowledged that gluten was a problem for me but thinks it is being caused by my IBS. He told me he didn't think...
  24. I was suspecting yeast maybe. I have a lot of anxiety problems. Were you diagnosed through the biopsy?
