ARCHIVED Lab Doing Igg And Ige Elisas

Open Original Shared Link They offer IgG and IgE Elisa food allergy testing. Thought that was cool because food allergies are not only mediated by IgG that york tests for. -

ARCHIVED York Test Results

I think the sensitivity MAY be gone and not should be gone. It depends on the immune response mounted. Antibodies do cross react so maybe there is some cross reaction going on so your husband has some antibodies that are reacting to their lentil antigen? Just a thought. They use IgG Elisas to test food allergies in animals all the time. It is standard... -

They may also be due to a zinc deficiency. Mine are and have to take zinc daily or else I get them. -

Deb, the life of antibodies vary a lot. Some viral and bacterial diseases we are immune to for the rest of our lives and others we are not. I know they (especially viruses) change rapidly so we have to get yearly vaccines for some and not others, but in general how long antibodies stay around in your body varies a lot so these antibodies could show up for... -
ARCHIVED My York Results
Melanie replied to Melanie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thank you all for the responses. I really just think I'm frustrated. I was all ready to test positive for wheat but not ready to test positive for milk and veggies. I thought yeast may have been the culprit but wheat allergies are more common so I thought that is what it would be. So I was all ready to deal with a wheat allergy but not I have different... -

Thanks Judy, Actually my itch due to soy is delayed by a day or 2 so I'm confused. I will have to review my immuno again. -
ARCHIVED My York Results
Melanie replied to Melanie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I still think my allergy results are bogus. They don't make sense at all. I eat eggs, milk, spinach, onions a lot and almost on a daily basis. I eliminated dairy before and it didn't help my gi symptoms. They only improved when I eliminated wheat. I've just never seen an allergy profile with 4 veggies on it. They aren't common allergies and I think... -
So I tested positive for Onions the most, and then 1+ for: string beans cow's milk (what should I drink if I'm allergic to cow's milk and soy (altough york didn't find that?!) and need to follow a low glycemic index diet?) spinach millet (what is millet?) yeast I should rotate lettuce and egg whites So I guess most of my gi problems associated...

Hi, I got my test results today. I'm a little confused by them but thought I would let you know I got them. I think it took 4 to 5 weeks. -

I mailed mine 3 weeks ago and hope to hear soon (expecting to wait 4-6 weeks). Do you think I should contact them after 8 weeks. Glad you heard. -
I went there this weekend and they told us after a half hour of waiting that they were out of most fish and only had shrimp and lobster. I won't go there again.

ARCHIVED York, Enterolab, Or Great Smokie Mt. Which To Use?
Melanie replied to kactuskandee's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hey Kandee, I got my kit from York and it took like 1.5 weeks to get here. It wasn't hard to do and I sent it off. I hope I hear from them soon. Just wanted to let you know no problems so far. What is IgE RAST? melanie -
ARCHIVED York, Enterolab, Or Great Smokie Mt. Which To Use?
Melanie replied to kactuskandee's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I think I found out somewhere that Great Smokie labs charged $525. I don't think I found it on the webpage, I think someone else said it was that much on another message board. They are a well repected lab. I would have went with them if I had the extra money. The next most reliable and accepted seems to be York labs. I just ordered my test from them... -

Ok, it is Great Smokie Labs: Open Original Shared Link They were recommended by a lady with Celiac here. It took her a while to get dxed and they sent her blood samples there. -

ARCHIVED York Labs And Igg?
Melanie posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
So I'm having bad symptoms again and have decided I have to have some sort of test done even though I can't afford it at all. I think I will go with York labs but I'm wondering about them using IgG rather than IgA or IgE, which are more common in the GI. Has anyone read anything about this? -
My understanding is if you don't have an official dx even if you have abnormal blood work, your insurance co won't take the blood work as a dx or problem. Your doctor has to write that you are Celiac. My doctor explained it that way to me. I have some abnormal blood work (not celiac related) and some symptoms of a disorder, but no doctor will give me...

I have like this weird film around my feces. It is kind of amber in color. Sometimes it just comes out and no feces. It is gross. My feces doesn't look abnormal or float. Is this related to Celiac or something else? I've been wondering about this for a long time and really can't find anything on the web about it. A lot of IBS stuff comes up and...

ARCHIVED Allergy Vs. Intolerance Vs. Celiac Disease
Melanie replied to dbuhl79's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm confused about this too because I'm wondering if I'm just allergic to wheat. You should be able to have barley and rye if you are just allergic. Someone also told me I should be able to eat spelt. I guess these items I distantly related to wheat so they don't cause a reaction if you are allergic to wheat. It seems like if you are allergic to wheat... -
ARCHIVED Going Off Gf Diet?
Melanie replied to judy05's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I think using York labs (and they do seem legit to me) would be great because then you can see if you are allergic to other foods that may be causing you not to feel great. I did reintroduce gluten/wheat and do have reactions when I do so I know for sure that I have some issues with wheat. I don't know what: celiac, gluten intolerance or just a wheat... -
What is wrong with Salsa? Why can't we eat so many restaurant salsas? It has something to do with vinigar right? Can someone explain it to me? Is salsa wheat free or just not gluten free (I'm still wondering if I'm celiac or wheat allergic)?

Soy makes me Itchy!!!! It makes my ears and neck itchy first and then spreads. I've found that I can eat soy lechtin without any problems. It isn't hard, as people have mentioned, to find products without soy oil. Natural peanut butter doesn't have it.

ARCHIVED Really Good Pizza : )
Melanie replied to leapingllama05's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I was thinking about getting Bob's red mill garbanzo bean flour to make pizza crust. I love chick peas and it sounds tasty as a pizza crust (although I know it won't taste exactly like chick peas). But what is New York pizza crust like? I have almost all the ingredients to make pizza crust soon. Hopefully it will be good. I think I will try one on...
