  1. I know there are certain vitamins and things that celiacs can be low on, and other things that need to be checked. I want to make an appt to get my blood checked. I already know I am low on vitamin D, mine was 26 when it was checked, so I was put on supplement of 50,000 iu every Mon, Wed and Fri. Is there anything else I should get checked out?? Thank...
  2. What were the products you found at Costco?? Thanks!
  3. For breakfast I had brown rice heated with shredded coconut, sliced almonds, sesame seeds, and almond milk, with a little brown sugar, and cinnamon. Next time I will leave out the brown sugar, didn't need it. I made some hummus with chickpeas and olive oil and garlic and whatnot, and had carrots and celery with it. Didn't like this much. I've discovered...
  4. ROFL!!!!!!!!! Sometimes, just sometimes, your posts really crack me up!!! I laughed OUT LOUD at this one.
  5. so am I a Gold Star Celiac now?? LOL I had my colonoscopy and it was FINE FINE FINE I had my endoscopy and he said he could "see damage consistent with Celiac Disease" just from looking, of course he is sending all my stuff to be biopsied. But, I got so lucky, because he actually KNEW something about Celiac and said his former wife had written a book...
  6. First of all, if anyone else ever reads this and their doctor gives them TriLyte for colon prep, RUN AWAY. Run FAR away. This has to be one of the worst things I've ever done, and I've given birth 3 times, 2 natural childbirth, and I am not a wimp. I cannot swallow any more of that stuff. I have thrown it up a couple times now. It is BAD. There has...
  7. Thanks again everyone. Today I went DOWN TO THE LAB, with my test results in hand, and showed them what was going on and that not one but TWO different doctors have called me and told me my gliadin peptide ab was normal, and the lab looked it up, and CALLED the head honcho and confirmed that it is in fact NOT normal but HIGH and the reason the number is...
  8. Raven, thank you, I think I will go ahead and start the gluten free diet right away after Wednesday. Maybe my seizures will stop and all my bowel problems, my itching, joint pain, and maybe I can even get pregnant and not lose the baby! I am also going to have my 3 sons tested. My middle son (9yo) has constipation problems along with leaking stool problems...
  9. Thank you so much for typing all that out, I really appreciate it. I agree with you but she is not the gastro, she is the nurse practitioner and not the greatest apparently. i'm going to demand to talk with HIM before the procedures and make sure he knows what I want done. I'm pretty much already convinced celiac is what I have, with 2 positive blood tests...
  10. Thank you very much Roda. This is very encouraging because your test results are similar to mine, yours were 78 and mine were 88 on the ttg one, so maybe it will show up for me with an endoscopy too. I am totally going to do what you said and talk to him beforehand with my results in hand. Thank you very much
  11. Thank you very much TrillumHunter, you are right. I am going to meet a lot of uninformed people so I shouldn't let it get me all out of whack every time. I will take my results with me on Wednesday and I will insist on talking to this doctor BEFORE he does this procedure. And you are right about me needing to be strong and firm. I'm going to work on that...
  12. Thank you Peter for your very straightforward and easy to understand response, I appreciate that more than words can say in fact I'm about to burst in to tears! I am SO MAD right now. I called the lab, and was told the reference range for the gliadin peptide ab iga was31 or greater is positive, NOT over 378 like the nurse said, and that my result WAS positive...
  13. They finally called me back with my results. She said, and I quote because I wrote it all down, "everything looks fine, one of your levels was a little high but not outrageously high and the other 2 were negative" So I asked her for exactly what tests they were and she said "well your celiac panel that you requested!" Like I didn't know that, I meant WHAT...
  14. Can you tell me if you are making the crepes and how, or if you are buying them what kind? Thanks!!

    ARCHIVED Denver Doctors Anyone?

I looked up that doctor mentioned above and my insurance says he is a man. That makes me wonder if the speaker actually did meet the dr, since he is referred to as a woman several times in the quote! I will be relocating to the denver area soon, so I was hoping to find a doctor familiar with celiac.
  16. Yes I did, I got some of them anyway. I posted them under a separate post. It looks like I have 2 positives but I haven't heard from any doctor to confirm.
  17. thank you for replying. I did read that the first test can be a false positive in people with hashimoto's disease, which i have. Does anyone know about getting a false positive on that test? also on the test I got 105 on, it said anything above 39 was considered 'positive' but it had my result of 105 listed under normal, which I dont understand. so it...
  18. it also says if detected at a level greater than 19 unites may suggest the possibility of certain gluten sensitive enteropathies such as celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformus. and mine was 88 but doesnt say 88 what, just ways 88, flagged as high and reference of 0-19 units. why can't I see my post on the board??? I hope someone else can see this...
  19. Okay, to make a long story short, I picked up a copy of my results, they aren't complete yet but this is all I have, and the doctors are all gone for the rest of the week. No one has told me the results. I have no idea what this means, but this is what I have, tissue transglutaminase iga 88 gliadin peptide ab iga and igg dont think I have hte results...
  20. I forgot to add a couple things. I crave ice and can eat a whole bag in a couple days. I eat ice all day long. I can't help it. I just have to have it. Also I have had issues with pencil thin stools, and I have acid reflux all the time. My 9 year old is also having bowel problems. He goes to have a bm about 4 times a day and sometimes has what he likes...
  21. I am a 38 year old woman. Here is my list of symptoms. At about 15 years old, have an episode of severe joint pain in my shoulders. So bad that I cannot lift my arms, or hold them up if someone else lifts them. Am taken to dr's and parents are told I have arthritis. Am put on ibuprofin type drugs. Finally it goes away, but it comes back occasionally...
