Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
WOOHOOOOOOO!!! You guys are AWESOME!! I'm going to print out this whole thread and paste it on my fridge!!! Thank you SOOOO much!! Tonight we drove 1 1/2 hours to some little town in Montana for a 45 minute basketball game and I came home to this wonderful information, I am so happy!! I mean really, sometimes you just need someone to tell you "hey... -
Hi again! We live in a smaller town and there are no good places we can grab a bit to eat. We are often on the go with my son's basketball league, sometimes games are in other towns over an hour away. We need some food ideas because we are starving! There are 2 of us eating gluten free now. We have NO bread, because there isn't any for sale here other...

I can't help you because I am struggling with this too, but my gi doc told me NO gluten in the house whatsoever. He told me it's impossible to not get cc'd. I told him my husband still had raisin bran and regular bread and he said NO NO NO. He said it will get in the cracks around the sink, it will fly in the air and stays airborne up to 24 hours and there...

ARCHIVED Ate Gluten Free Chex, Now Throwing Up Blood?
Frances03 replied to Becci's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've been wanting to try that Chebe stuff! As for the sauce, I wouldn't chance it, you could make your own so easy!! Just open a small can of tomato sauce and add italian seasonings to your taste, like garlic, basil, oregano, parsley, etc, and let it simmer for a while to blend the flavors! You could evne add some dry red or white wine, adjust everything... -
ARCHIVED The Chex Issue
Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yep, the Ashley I spoke with had no idea about my questions either. Makes me wonder if the answers I got today are even the truth! She said she spoke with her supervisor about the how ofthen they check the batches question and she had to call me back with that answer, and call me back again with the answer to the ppm question, so I'm hoping I got the truth... -
ARCHIVED The Chex Issue
Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes, it's okay, but only if you spell it right! LUNATIC. just kidding- so, did they tell YOU it was a gluten free facility??? I am annoyed with you. -
ARCHIVED The Chex Issue
Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
"Ashley" just called me back, TWICE, she told me they do test the product after EACH batch, and that the product is 100% gluten free, they don't allow any ppm under that label. But, she did tell me it is not a gluten free facility, so, if someone told you it IS, something is going on!! I was almost sure I had called chex once before and was told it was... -
ARCHIVED Pet Peeve Regarding The Slaying Of The English Language.
Frances03 replied to Imanistj's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Ohhhhhh I just thought of another one!!!! IRREGARDLESS!!!! Do people not realize that isn't a word at all?? regard-LESS means having no regard, so, you ad IR to the front of it and what? it's like twice as much no regard??? that'd be like saying "you are so irrationaless! -
ARCHIVED The Chex Issue
Frances03 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm annoyed. I could have SWORN I heard/read/was told that they had a gluten free facility for the gluten free chex!! I just called them after reading the other thread on here about cinnamon chex. I get so tired of reading the same thing over and over, I decided to just find out for myself what the heck is going on, I really dont see how someone could... -
ARCHIVED Pet Peeve Regarding The Slaying Of The English Language.
Frances03 replied to Imanistj's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
This one is huge on my list: when people say FUSStrated instead of frustrated. "Oh, I'm getting so fusstrated with my child lately" GRRRRRRRRR!! another one is when grown adults say "woof" instead of wolf. OH!! and JAG-WIRE instead of jaguar. okay, I might be able to go on all day about this! -
I have the Pacific plain rice milk. I found out about the Rice Dream after I bought a case at Costco. I returned it all after I drank some and didn't feel well. I wish Costcto would carry the Pacific brand!!

Thanks you guys. I just wanted to emphasize that I do not eat high carb gluten free products. In fact I haven't purchased a single "gluten-free" product like breads, cakes, cookies, etc. I normally eat either a smoothie with fruit and rice milk, or cereal and rice milk for breakfast, sometimes eggs, maybe once a week. For lunch I just snack on leftovers...

I've been gluten free for about a month, and still don't feel right yet. Therefore, I'm not really sure what is a glutening and what isn't for me yet. Last night I ate a chili at wendy's, plain no cheese or onions, and a plain baked potato, and a coke. This morning, I am absolutely NAUSEOUS. I should explain that before I was diagnosed, I was nauseous...

ARCHIVED Back To Basics gluten-free Diet
Frances03 replied to YoloGx's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
You guys should try the splash of lemon juice on the roasted brussels! it just adds something to them and makes them even yummier! When I was a child, brussels sprouts was the only veggie I would eat! So, I had them every night, put in a coffee cup with butter in the microwave until done. LOL -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Chain Restaurants
Frances03 replied to collins146's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Perkins has some items. I called them last week, they said "meat, poultry, seafood with no seasoning or sauces, hashbrowns, mashed potatoes, all salad dressings, the egg classics breakfasts, bacon, sausage" you'll need to talk to the manager and explain cooking it away from other things and in a clean pan, etc, and avoid the french fries they told me they... -
ARCHIVED Yikes! How Did My Personal Phone # And Address Get Onto My Personal Profile?
Frances03 replied to oceangirl's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
I saw that too and it freaked me out too! But, I had made up all the information, LOL. I hope I don't get kicked off the board for revealing that, but I never give out my real name address and phone to any website! So once I saw that it was all my made up information, I never bothered asking if it was visible to others. I'm glad it's NOT tho, just the... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Gravy
Frances03 replied to Mommy2Many's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I made an AWESOME gravy tonight! It was mushroom gravy: 8 large mushrooms, sliced 2 T butter, margarine, oil, whatever Saute mushrooms in grease of choice. When they start releasing their juices, pour it off into a 2 cup glass measuring dish. When mushrooms are soft, sprinkle with Mrs Dash and garlic powder to taste. Add chicken broth to mushroom... -
ARCHIVED Endo Question
Frances03 replied to FixedGear's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
if I were you, I would keep eating gluten, get the endo, and then go gluten free after. The reason I say this is, even though we feel better not eating gluten, the gluten free diet is VERY HARD at times, and without a solid diagnosis, it would be so much easier to cheat, and if you do have celiac disease, you can NEVER cheat, so, for me personally, it helps... -
ARCHIVED How Do Some Celiacs Put On Weight?
Frances03 replied to adm07's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I am definitely one that was undiagnosed and gained weight. I gained 30 lbs all at once in one month and no one could figure out why. I gained all this weight AFTER giving birth to 3 children and not gaining, so my metabolism WAS normal once, but no longer. Now I am overweight, diagnosed with celiac, and I haven't lost ONE OUNCE of weight despite eating... -

ARCHIVED Ttg Iga
Frances03 replied to SLB5757's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I dont think that is an indicator that you are iga deficient. It just means that your body isn't producing much in the way of antibodies against itself due to gluten. I have recently had myself and my 3 sons tested. One of my sons tested with a 0 on the ttg iga test, but his total immunoglobulin was completely normal, so he isn't iga deficient. Another...
