ARCHIVED Anyone Have A Costco gluten-free List?
Frances03 replied to jasonD2's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
scratch what I said about the falafel. It's not only HORRIBLE, but it says made on equipment that also makes things with wheat, even though "gluten free" is marked all over the box. But regardless of that, it's the worst thing I've EVER gotten at Costco. My entire family about threw up. I only tasted a tiny nibble and it was so bad I spit it out. The... -
ARCHIVED Puffed Rice Cereal
Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I posted about Arrowhead Mills at the beginning, I'm not sure why they don't list this cereal under gluten free other than it isn't gluten free because of cross contamination. If you happen to call them, post what they tell you. For now, I don't trust it. -

Today I found gluten free falafel at Costco! I'm excited to try it. I also found a nice big bag of red star yeast to use for my bread baking I also buy lunchmeat there! They have lots of sausages that are gluten free. The broasted chicken is gluten free. The frozen beef taquitos are yummy! We buy pace picante sauce, the cattle drive beef chili AND... -
I'm currently pregnant and I use Tums Wintergreen to deal with the heartburn associated with pregnancy. It does NOT contain gluten and their website confirms this. "Although we do not use gluten as a filler in TUMS, there may be trace amounts of gluten in TUMS Smoothies Assorted Fruit and Berry Fusion flavors via ingredients that are supplied by outside...

The giant bag of Kirkland Signature Mission Tortilla Chip Strips are gluten free. I have called to verify and they also say gluten free on the bag. We eat them a LOT! We love chips and salsa, nachos, taco salads, chips with chili cheese dip, etc. I do almost all of my grocery shopping at Costco alone. It is the BEST store for gluten free items IMO... -
ARCHIVED Son (8) Sneaks Gluten Foods
Frances03 replied to lilgreen's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I have a 10 year old that's gluten free, along with myself. We also have an 8 year old and a 13 year old, and my husband who are not gluten free, and another baby on the way. This post made me feel mad. I cannot believe that your husband and 2 other children are eating gluten foods in front of this child and you are surprised that he is "cheating". Even... -

Oooooo Chinese grocery!! Good idea!! I was in one of those recently when I traveled to Colorado and they had a lot of interesting gluten free things!! I bet they might have that!! Thanks, I'll let you know if I find it. I'm sure we have no Chinese store in Montana but I am currently in SLC and maybe there is one here! -
I've had the surgery, about 9 years ago when I was only 29 or 30, and I will tell you the surgery is a piece of CAKE compared to the living hell of having a fissure. I was IMMEDIATELY better after the surgery. I mean immediately. Like I hadn't even gotten up from the bed yet! Also, I had a newborn baby and I refused to be put under for the surgery, so...

ARCHIVED Puffed Rice Cereal
Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yeah, puffed rice is just sort of light and airy and not really 'crispy'. I always figured those crispy rice cereals were fried, but I really have no idea how they get them crispy, LOL. As for Nature's Path, there is no way I'm eating those. This quote is directly from their website in response to someone asking "is this product gluten free?" "This... -
ARCHIVED I Glutened My Son
Frances03 replied to crimsonviolet's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Whoppers are malted milk balls. Malt is definitely NOT on the gluten free list since it's made with barley. So that means no Whoppers or any other malted milk balls, no chocolate malts, no Ovaltine chocolate malt mix, etc. Malt is an ingredient used in a lot of products so you have to watch for it. Like a lot of breakfast cereals have malt in them, ie... -
ARCHIVED Puffed Rice Cereal

Yeah I've seen that but that's not really puffed rice, it's more like a Rice Krispies cereal. -
ARCHIVED Puffed Rice Cereal
Frances03 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
You'd think they could make something like puffed rice without screwing it up but I can't find any that look safe!! All it is is RICE. I'm just craving it right now, must be the pregnancy. I looked up Natures Path Rice Puffs, they say on their website that they are NOT gluten free due to cross contamination. I looked up Arrowhead Mills, but I've never... -
I got it at Walmart for $3.50. So far the only thing I've made is Chicken and Dumplings. They were FANTASTIC. I used my own recipe for the main part and then followed the recipe on the liveglutenfreely website for the dumplings part. Our entire family loved the dish and I will make it again for sure!

Mine is a total spaz!! I got a heart rate monitor and baby is always kicking it hard and hurting my ears when I try to listen LOL! Good luck with this pregnancy...

Frances03 replied to Frances03's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks to all of you. I'm almost 17 weeks now and off the zofran! The nausea is gone and I'm doing great! I get to find out if I'm having a boy or a girl on Sept 20th and I can't WAIT. The baby is very active and I can feel it moving a LOT now. It's very exciting since I never got this far with my 3 miscarriages and it's been 9 years since I was pregnant... -

ARCHIVED No Way To Turn Entire Home gluten-free
Frances03 replied to Aphreal's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
First I'll admit I don't have time to read this whole thread right now so I'm only responding to the original post. We are a family of 5 with one more on the way. I am a stay at home mom, my kids are 13, 10 and 8 and all boys and eat a lot. I'm not sympathetic only because I am living what you're complaining about and I haven't found it to make a huge... -
I have both. I've had the thyroid issues for 11 years now, and was diagnosed with celiac in October. I have been on levothyroxine for 11 years.

ARCHIVED Ana Test (autoantibody Tests): Are Celiacs Positive?
Frances03 replied to Cheret's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Me too on the elevated ANA. They have never diagnosed it as anything, though several times I have been told I may have a MILD lupus. I dont think I really have lupus, and the only other autoimmune disorder I have is hashimoto's. I think it may be from the Celiac too. -
YAY Darissa!! Thank you SO much!! I am so excited. I found out there is also a Chipotle there and I love that place so much!! You have given us a GREAT list and I am so excited to visit that store!! We're going to be near Taylorsville and West Valley City area for 5 to 8 nights with a family of 5, 2 of us gluten free. We will be staying in a hotel, and we'll be eating all our meals either in our room (lunch) or out at restaurants (dinner). For breakfast, the 2 of us that are gluten-free will just bring gluten-free cereal and eat that while the others...
