  1. Shoot! I was afraid of that. If only they could dedicate a fryer, it would put Chili's near the top of our list. Of course, nothing comes close to Biaggi's.
  2. I did not know the chips & salsa were gluten-free. I wrote to Chili's Corporate Office and was told the chips were NOT fried in a dedicated fryer and CC could occur. I do believe Chili's is getting better with gluten-free options.
  3. Welcome to the board. We are mostly gluten-free - the only gluten in the kitchen is one loaf of bread squirreled away in the freezer, which is for me if we have sandwiches.   4. Got a box of no-bake cheesecake mix, threw out the crust packet, made the cheesecake and put it in a baking dish to set in the fridge. Served it with the strawberry topping. We did not miss the crust at all.

  8. Sorry about your bad experience. We ate there once and they were pretty good about it. Celiac husband had grilled, plain fish with a baked potatato, along with a salad (no croutons, of course).   9. We just realized that we need to check if the Caress bath bar (regular) is gluten-free! Do we really need to watch products like soap, shampoo, etc? Is Caress gluten-free? What about toothpaste?   10. I am a huge fan of Udi's bread. It comes the closest to "regular" bread. Husband has celiac disease and he loves Udi's. He takes his lunch to work 3 days a week and being able to make him a regular sandiwhich like I used to before the diagnosis is very well worth the price. A1C's have always been great and he practices the "Tight-Control" method of controlling his diabetes by testing frequently and adjusting insulin as needed. All with the approval of his doctor.   14. We will be in the Louisville, KY area January 2nd and am wondering if there are any neat places that offer gluten-free alternatives? We already know we can eat at Olive Garden, Famous Daves, and Texas Roadhouse, but we like to find places unique to the area to eat as well.   16. I just found Udi's bread at one of our local stores, called HyVee. Udi's is pretty good for a loaf bread, so I can make Fang a "regular" sandwich again.   20. My Mom was the same way with Type II diabetes. She refused to follow a decent diet and ate anything and everything she wanted, whenever she wanted. After many years, she has finally had it with feeling bad all the time, so she is in the process of consulting a dietician. Hopefully, your Mom will get fed up with feeling bad and take corrective actions....
