  1. Thanks everyone!
  2. Disney does allow you to bring in your own foods now. It is great that they won't hassle you.
  3. Thanks for the support. I am craving all kinds of gluten containing foods. It isn't just the flavor I'm craving, but the texture and everything. Texture is something I'm having a difficult time with. I need to not be so dang picky!
  4. You're very welcome! I love sharing the magic. If you have any questions or want more details let me know. Disney is my favorite thing to chat about! It is so much fun helping others realize they can eat well there too. When is your trip. I'll be there April 23-30. I've been wanting to try some of the BabyCakes recipes but figured I would wait...
  5. How do you handle it when severe cravings attack? I've had this terrible crud that's been going around and had to do 20 days of antibiotics and the 12-day steroid pack. On top of the steroids it is PMS time. The cravings are killing me. How do I handle this? I'm trying to be good but I haven't been. I know that is a major no-no. But I don't know how to cope...
  6. You are going to be in the best place possible for a Celiac to dine! As someone above stated, you can get a document when you arrive at the parks that lists the restaurants allergy-free, gluten-friendly options. This list is wonderful! It shows all kinds of allergens in case you have more than one to deal with. When you order at counter service locations...
  7. Oh yes, I know that feeling. Mine turned out to be low B12. Have you had yours checked? You can buy it in the vitamin section if you want to try taking some to see if it helps. I use the sub-lingual drops. But that's not enough for me so I have to get injections every 3 weeks. When mine is low I experience a few other weird symptoms. Good luck figuring...
  8. Isn't it frustrating being so limited? After going gluten-free last year I was still having stomach/digestive issues, but not as bad as when I would accidentally have gluten. A few months ago I had allergy tests once again & it showed that I was allergic to tons of foods. Now I pay more attention to how I feel after eating certain things & most everything...
  9. I also have Hashimoto & Celiac. For years the doctors have said they thought something must be wrong with my thyroid but the only did the general test, never the in depth one. In June I brought this up during allergy testing. The nurse suggested I mention it to the doctor. She sent me for the full thyroid panel. About this same time I was assigned a Nurse...
  10. Like others have said you don't need the junk food when your sugar drops. I'm also Hypoglycemic & I always keep peanut butter with me. I even have a little packet in my purse just in case. Since going gluten-free I've not had near as much trouble with my sugar dropping. Now it only drops when I've been contaminated or when I've gone hours & hours...
  11. Oops, sorry I just saw the part where you aren't interested in Disney cruises. I'm on my phone & it scrolled too far.
  12. Check into Disney cruises. Disney does a great job of keeping those of us with food issues safe & well fed. Go to the website & look for contact info then email them. The parks go above & beyond to keep us safe from contamination & you wouldn't believe some of the amazing, wonderful foods they serve. I not only have Celiac but also several...
  13. The reason you need to avoid the envelopes is because gluten is in the glue used to seal them. Some people have no reaction to small amounts of gluten, others do. Sadly I'm one of those who have terrible reactions with just a tiny bit of gluten. I want to avoid shampoo & all because I don't want to get it in a cut or scrape. I don't know if that will...
  14. Thanks. They said my iron was good. Maybe I need to have it checked again. I go for my physical in Feb or March and will have her recheck everything then. About loosing some insulation I didn't think 15 pounds was enough to make a difference, but maybe it is. I don't think I'm eating any less, just not eating the stuff my body can't handle. Hmm...
  15. Since going gluten-free in October of this year I've started to get cold a lot. I used to always be the hot blooded one. Now at home I've always got my blanket around me and at work I've got a jacket on. My blood isn't low or anything so it isn't from that. Is this normal? After a while I'll get warm and have to toss my blanket to the side but then...
  16. A doctor told me my geographic tongue was from allergies. It hasn't been bothering me as much since going gluten-free. But this thread has me interested in paying more attention to my tongue & dairy. Right now my tongue hurts because I had some nuts today. For some reason nuts really bother my tongue. I have to say that I'm glad I finally started...
  17. Going gluten-free has been the best thing for my sleep! I used to rarely sleep more than 3 hours at a time. Lately I've been waking up a little after 5 when going to bed about 10. My body doesn't know how to handle it yet but it feels great! The dark circles under my eyes are getting much, much lighter. Who knew? All these years my doctors have tried...
  18. Since I have gone gluten-free my Hypoglycemia has gotten better. I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one.
  19. This is something I need to share with my mother. Just today she was complaining about the sores in her mouth. I keep trying to get her to get tested because she has so many symptoms. How long after going gluten-free did it take for your sores to start healing? I'd like to have something to tell her that she could look forward to as far as a time...
  20. Disney does do a great job for anyone with food allergies or sensitivities. You don't always have to have a reservation like Msmini14 said, but it is a good idea. It sounds like she went during one free dining which did fill up all of the restaurants and pretty much require everyone to have a dining reservation. I think a lot of planning goes into a WDW...
  21. Have you made your dining reservations yet? If not, you should start looking at the restaurant menus to make reservations now. Open Original Shared Link is a great place to start out to see what each restaurant offers. Also, send an email to WDW.Special.Diets@disney.com to get more information. They will send you about 8 documents for your review including...
