The dishwasher will certainly sanitize your utensils, due to the heat. But that means killing microorganisms. Gluten can not be killed, and sanitizing has no effect on it. Gluten can not be "killed" or "neutralized." It must be physically removed. Sanitizer will do nothing. Wipes, if used with vigor, will help, but may still leave a trace of residue. If you can't get to soap and water, I would use them. But soap and water is better. -

Add Unilever to that list, and you will have three of the largest food companies. Also count in Campbells (the soup co.) and Hormel. Those companies own many, many other brands which you may not immediately associate with them. For example, Oscar Mayer is Kraft, and Lipton is Unilever. Dishwashers are not perfect, although I do believe that they are far more effective than hand washing. When I take items out of the dishwasher, I look at them. If I see any residue, I set them aside to be dealt with. We don't have a mixed kitchen anymore, but we did for many years. It was not a problem. -

Brown rice syrup and monosodium glutamate (MSG) are both gluten-free. Hidden barley is not the big deal you seem to be making it out to be. If present in a food, it is almost invariably listed as either "barley" or "malt." -

That test was for glucose tolerance, i.e. diabetes. Based on those results, you do not have diabetes. It tells us nothing about your ability to tolerate lactose. But the comments by others about the relationship between lactose intolerance and damage to the villi are spot on. -

It is the whole package, each biscuit in the package, and each bite (or crumb) of the biscuit. Parts per million is a ratio, not a quantitative measure. If something contains 20 ppm of something else, that is 0.002 percent of the mentioned item. Eat 10 grams--you get 0.0002 grams. Eat 100 grams--you get 0.002 grams. Organic wheat contains gluten in the same quantity as regular wheat. The gluten occurs naturally in the proteins of the plant. Organic does not mean gluten-free. There are many foods out there that are both organic and gluten-free, but the two concepts are unrelated. -
