  1. Okay, quick history of Canada. Major events only. Seventeenth century: The French colonize New France. September 13, 1759: The British defeat the French on the Plains of Abraham. 1791: The former New France is divided into predominately French Lower Canada and predominately English Upper Canada. July 1, 1867: Four colonies reorganize into...
  2. Congratulations, Your Majesty! :)
  3. I'm not sure what it has to do with microwaves, but indeed, today is December 11, which is a most significant date indeed for Canadians. Today is the 77th anniversary of what is, in my opinion, the most significant event in Canadian political history. It actually took place in the UK, and affected more than just Canada.
  4. Old El Paso will clearly disclose any gluten source in the ingredients. I don't know if the salsa is gluten-free as I don't use it and so don't have a label to look at. CC is always a possibility, though.
  5. And a happy birthday to our phavourite old, middle-aged hag! I'm not touching your boobs, Susie. That is, I'm not getting involved in that question.
  6. And this reminds me, where did Llama Lady disappear to? Je ne sais pas. Eleven (11) doesn't work for me; I'm 54 which adds up to 9.
  7. I've just been reading about it. I'm kinda phamiliar with the area. Reports put it around I-805 and Mira Mesa Blvd, just west of MCAS Miramar. A company I used to work for had, for part of the time I worked for them, an office on Mira Mesa along the north boundary of the station. I spent a fair amount of time in that office.
  8. I'm not sure what the problem is. I have verified that I can see all 37 posts, and an ordinary (non-moderator) identity I checked also can. Is it possible that you are using an alternate view? Go to the Options button at the right of the green bar with the topic title in it, and make sure that the display mode selected is "standard." If you still can't...
  9. Okay, I guess I have to deal with all this interest in my tool. I possess a wonderful tool. It is 9-1/2 inches long and is steel-hard. It is rounded at the end with a hole in it. It works best with a repeated motion, and it can be operated with only one hand. Click here to see it. Cabbie: "Well, I never actually met Frank. He died and...
  10. Not much for me to say tonight. We have had two days of quiet this weekend, and now expect to be working every day from now until Christmas. Sarah, we're keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Emily, no snow expected here, but it is bloody cold--expected to hit -15 overnight. Brrrr. That is enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey, as they...
  11. Paint can be used to resize, and also to crop. You can only crop on the bottom and right, but you can rotate the image 180 degrees, crop the "right" and "bottom" and then rotate another 180 degrees to accomplish cropping on all four sides. It is a bit cumbersome, but it works, and Paint comes free with Windows. You only need to shrink enough to get under...
  12. Oliver is pictured on the bag for Enviro-Litter, a biodegradable pine litter sold as our private label. In the linked photo, he is lying on the table on the deck, and Tuppence is on the chair in the foreground.
  13. At last weighing, Becky was 17 pounds. The dear girl really should lose about ten percent. She is long-haired, and there is a lot of it, but there is a big cat under it all. We are trying to get her to lose, but it is not working very well. She is down from a peak of 18 pounds a year ago. You can see Becky a bit better in this picture, which is an outtake...
  14. So, today is bit of an anniversary for us. It was eight years ago today that we took over our original store. We were there for almost six years, before moving to our current location in September, 2006. I have put up a new av which shows the remaining members of the original team. Click here to see the full-sized picture. Jacquie is holding Caramel...
  15. Well, I don't know about this. Somebody here seems to be obsessed with a certain body part. The sillies have already seen my thumb and have had a peek at my balls. Tom and I are the only current sillies who possess what all the women seem to be interested in. Do I need to provide a picture of my tool? I don't know dick about what to say next.

ARCHIVED Group Letter to Dr. Fine

Here is a link to the thread from which this one was split.
  17. I shall take the sub-topic about the letter(s) and make them into a new thread. Click here to reach the new thread in this forum.
  18. There is an old discussion on this topic that began over three years ago, but has had spurts of activity over time, and may be informative. Click here for the thread.
  19. If there is a gluten issue with regard to prepared mustard, it will come from an ingredient other than the mustard seed itself. Mustard seed is not a grain, and is not a source of gluten. The vinegar debate is ongoing as regards to source, but most vinegar in North America is distilled from non-gluten sources. Unless specifically labeled as "Malt Vinegar...
  20. At the top right of the display when you are viewing a topic is a button for a pull-down menu labeled "Options." Click the button, then click the downward-pointing triangle to open the menu. Select Standard as the display mode. You will see the display with the posts all visible in order. This is stored in a cookie in your browser; perhaps the cookie...
  21. This question has been discussed many times, and there is no consensus among the members here, but most do understand what that statement means. It means that the company does not test its product, or its ingredients, for possible gluten content due to contamination. That is the case with almost every mainstream product there is. The company does not know...
  22. For the record, the removal of posts in this thread was not done by Rachel. That was my action, and Rachel had no input into selecting which posts were removed. Since only Scott can actually delete a post, and he has not done so (yet), I can assure everybody that Rachel has not made any posts in this thread disappear.
  23. Maybe you should have a quiet word with Will, instead of broadcasting it to everybody.
  24. Twenty-two posts which were off-topic have been removed from this thread, all from within the last 24 hours. I think this discussion is exhausted, but if it must continue, it must stay on the topic of Dr Fine's testing. Edited to change the post count to 22, and one more from that range has now been removed.
