  1. Beer, I need to call and ask today. Also, I need to ask for some wine. Who am I kidding, if Ican't eat the food I'll just drink beer all weekend anyway HAHA (kidding- sort of)
  2. Yeah I want to help them cook..my biggest concern is I am very sensitive so I don't want my mom to feel bad if I get glutened by missing a label or something. You ARE right though, what a GREAT way to educate the restaurant business! I'll take one for the team LOL
  3. Okay guys, I am going to need some input on this. My parents own a successful restaurant and catering business. They are coming to visit this weekend for the kid's birthday. My mom said that they will plan a gluten-free menu and cook for me. I haven't let ANYONE cook for me aside from my husband and fellow Celiacs. This is literally making me break...
  4. It's possible but I had classic gluten symptoms, bloating, etc. Hmm. Maybe.
  5. Well, I tried a regular Reese's Peanut Butter cup today and about an hour after that my stomach got upset. That was the only new thing I have eaten today although I did let my little boy give me kisses on the lips (but his face had been wiped after a gluten-free dinner). My only question was whether or not I could get glutened by baby kisses when he eats...
  6. I have actual OCD and am on anti anxiety medication. To call it OCD is a bad idea. I take medication to control my OCD. My concern over being glutened is more being aware than obsessed. If in doubt, I just don't eat it. my concern never makes me anxious. My OCD does.
  7. JEALOUSSSSS!!! We only have Bards and I don't really like it.
  8. Good point. My husband said the same thing. And he added "Hey! Maybe you'll finally be able to get some gluten-free beer around here!" LOL
  9. It was a little box inside an article called "BIG LIES ABOUT FOOD ALLERGIES". Ugh.
  10. Dude. Seriously? We have a verifiable DISEASE. Quit trivializing what we go through. It made me so agitated.
  11. I just had my 4th miscarriage in 3 years, although I did get my amazing 2 year old son. It's so hard and I wish I could tell you that being gluten-free fixed it, but I seem to get pregnant easily and have trouble with them sticking. I'm not sure if being gluten-free longer is necessary (I was diagnosed in April and got pregnant in July) but I have a feeling...
  12. Envelopes can make us sick? I have been writing to my husband twice a week since he deployed with no ill effects...good to know. I too have animals and I feed my dog-dog (yes, I repeated that lol) using a tupperware scoop and then wash my hands. Also, while I was pregnant I used gloves because I was super sensitive.
  13. OH MY GOODNESS!! SQUUEEEE!!!! That's awesome!!
  14. yeah I almost fell over out of shock. No WAY I could eat the stuff the great Aunt does!!
  15. HA! Possum!
  16. Awesome!! I hope there are MANY more days like this one
  17. Thats fine. As of right now I am going to try a tiny piece of the "LG" host next week after my stomach is better.
  18. BACON FOR THE WIN! I even have bacon band aids.
  19. ok I love you and all the input but you really can't fault me for not wanting to get sick. And I consider myself a good catholic. The point was I almost got glutened, managed not to, and will avoid it next week. I am going to try 1/4 of a "low gluten" host next week, but I got so sick last week that I couldn't risk it this week. It would have magnified...
  20. HAHAHAHHAHAHHA If it literally changed we would be cannibals!
  21. Man, that bites. ((hug))
  22. I told him "Hey, with the cross contamination issues, I probably AM getting wheat!" lol. I honestly just don't have a choice right now. I refuse to NOT take communion because this is something GOD gave me. I didn't choose it. It just happened to be something God set on my shoulders. That being the case, why should I be excluded?
  23. I had a small piece of gluten-free bread. I was told told not to worry about the wafers if they made me sick.
  24. My inlaws and husbands grandparents came to visit yesterday, and we started talking about the food issue. Husbands grandmother says "Oh! My sister has a gluten intolerance! When we have pizza she just takes the toppings off and eats them alone". Oh goodness. I had to explain the difference between Celiac Disease and Gluten Intolerance....then how cross...
  25. Ok so you all know I went ot mass last week and tried the gluten-free wafers and they still made me sick. Well this week our normal priest was back and I put my little pyx in the tray and went on with Mass. When I went up to do Communion, Fr. Fred goes up, grabs the pyx, opens it, and hands it to me. Ummm... That's not gonna work, dude. So I took it back...
