  1. We had vegetable risotto for a late lunch. I'm undecided on whether to cook dinner. We we proabbly just snack and graze on leftovers.
  2. I used to work with someone named "Kay" and she had this problem too. Whenever I said Okay, even if not talking to her she thought I was talking to her. It was very confusing at times.
  3. I though perhaps your name was pronounced differently than the standard "Karen". With the g added I had made it "Car-Eng-Gee" said really fast in my mind.
  4. This morning I had a piece of leftover tuna steak and two Pamela's ginger snaps, but not at the same time.
  5. How magnanimous of you to make suggestions. If you must have a name besides Manna, y'all can call me Irene. Will that one be sufficient butchering material?
  6. Are you diagnosed or are you just trialing the diet to see if it helps with symptoms? Either way you cannot use the old toaster. No matter how well hubby cleans it it won't be safe. As the PP said you can get toasters cheap! I got one for $3 on black friday. It's nothing fancy but it works just fine. You should be able to get one for around $10. However...
  7. This website has some great ideas: Open Original Shared Link Granted, the baked goods are not gluten free but I bet you could convert some of them easily, especially the sweet breads. Mango bread or mango muffins sound wonderful and you could probably freeze them for later.
  8. I'll take a glass of wine instead if that's more your style. Don't know how my glutned tummy will handle it but heck I'm already brain foggy might as well imbibe a little.
  9. As Raven said you should contact the manufacturers to find out the gluten-free status (unless they say gluten-free on them). Avoid anything that is labeled gluten-free but has wheat grass or barley grass. There are not any regulations regarding labeling of gluten-free viatmins and medications so the comapnies can get away with calling items containing...
  10. Thanks Emmmmmaleeeee.......... Wow, I see the topic has turned to divorce and other serious matters. I didn't mean to bring down the phunny thread with my psilly symptoms. Are group hugs allowed?
  11. I don't like Van's either. It's like eating cardboard unless you soak it in syrup, and then it's like eating syrup-soaked cardboard. I have not replaced my wafflemaker yet (it's all gluteny and impossible to clean to make it safe) but I have seen many recipes for homemade waffles. Pancakes are really easy to do and there are tons of recipes/mixes out...
  12. We had chicken sausage, toasted Udi's and scrambled eggs. I made a little breakfast sandwich with my egg, sausage and toast.
  13. Yes, I eat the plain rice chex and plain corn chex now without any trouble. The very first time I tried them I thought they were a problem too, but I figured I was just too early in my healing process. The Rice Kripsies have almost identical ingredients to Rice chex so I should be able to eat them.
  14. That's a possible explanation for my fatigue--I could be dehydrated since I walked to the store three times this week. My store is only across the street, however-- it is not a far walk at all. I do have trouble in hot wheather. However, the heat would not cause me to have heartburn, stomach cramps and D. This is certainly not the worst I've had it symptomwise...
  15. Thanks Sylvia. So I guess my next step will have to be to write to Kelloggs and find out where they are being made. If the gluten-free facility processes gluten-free oats like Bob's Red Mills products does that could be my problem. I'm just super-sensitive to cc. I really hope that it's not the Rice Kripies that made me sick but I can't figure out what...
  16. Not sure. I'm dealing with a GUS (Glutening of Unknown Source). Gus is an angry cus and he doesn't want to tell me where the gluten came from. Suspecting gluten-free Rice Krispies somehow got me but I don't want it to be true.....
  17. I just bought some new jeans. That's all I got. Not pheeling phunny or punny. Just feeling puny from gluten.
  18. Okay, does anyone know if these new Rice Krispies are made in a gluten-free facility? It's two days after my first bowlful and I'm having all my usual signs of gluten cc. Last night I made Rice Krispie treats and after eating them my stomach was puffed up and hurt like the devil. Today I'm having major brain fog, fatigue and joint pain. The marshmallows...
  19. Here: Open Original Shared Link Print this out, highlight in bright highlighter the names of the tests you need. Give a copy to your doctor to order the tests and keep one copy with you for when you go to the lab for the blood draw. When you go in for the blood draw show them the page with the highlighted tests to double check that everything has been...
  20. You can make your own vanilla easily (it just takes vanilla beans, alcohol and time): Open Original Shared Link
  21. Orange cake: Open Original Shared Link I have no idea if this recipe works since there are no reviews. It seems like the flour is misisng from it or something but if I'm reading it right maybe not.
  22. Maybe some homemade pudding made with coconut milk? Try altering this recipe--
