  1. I am pretty sure my sister has problems with gluten as I do. She has a multitude of symptoms that would take a while to list. The ones that worry me right now: She is very suicidal and self harming and has been even through childhood but now it is extreme, sick and heavy stomach has lead her to confiding in me that she is seriously considering bulimia, she...
  2. Thank you a lot! I guess it's completely normal for me to feel like this is the last thing I've kept in my diet that I love to pieces. Sugary sugary fruit. Go figure!!!
  3. Hmm that's very interesting and good to know. But I don't think this is it in this case. The honey I have is really raw, crystalized and with pollen in it and such. It seems pretty reliably pure.
  4. I've been wondering why I have been feeling good one day, and then almost like i've been glutened the next, but a less severe reaction. I've already removed gluten lactose eggs artificial flavoring and corn from my diet for over the last 2-3 weeks. The first 3 because I felt symptoms, corn just to be safe. I've been having my normal gluten symptoms the...
  5. Wonderful! Well, not wonderful that you all had to suffer from such anxiety/nervous problems. I am grateful for the connection. I thought that was who I was Plowgirl, I too was diagnosed with depression at a very young age, and as I said, yeah, social anxiety. Glad to hear that you are a believer dixie. I almost can't believe it... Anxiety...
  6. Is there anybody in Vancouver BC who knows of a good doctor, familiar with intolerances, etc.? My GP doesn't know enough to give a valid recommendation. He didn't even know that you had to be eating gluten to have a positive blood test. Very misleading. All suggestions welcome and appreciated! Edit: Oh, I'm not looking for a blood test though by the way...
  7. I have a few symptoms that are always present after gluten/lactose consumption, and some that vary. My "always" immediate symptoms: Heavy brain fog, vision distortion (things get very bright and dreamlike, distance distortion, things go slower or things start in one place and end up in the other without me seeing how.), sound distortion, crying/depression...
  8. I have been doing this a lot for the last few months! ! It's just been such a struggle and overall life changing experience. It has also altered many of my perspectives and beliefs. When something comes seemingly as a miracle, I think we have every right to dwell on it. We're just trying to find a spot for it in our minds where it makes sense with our other...
  9. This is very interesting... I've been having very similar problems as with gluten after I ingest meat, any meat, for unknown reasons... I'm not going to jump to conclusions just yet with that, but I'm going to raise my awareness. Thanks for the information.
  10. Hey guys. Might I just say that I love that I've found this forum. =] Ok, Onto the topic. I have social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder. More importantly, I feel shame, embarrassment, and guilt in extreme measures, leading to very extreme self hatred. I have strong memories of feeling extreme guilt as a child also. Just as an example: When...
  11. Hi. I've suffered with Binge eating disorder for all of my life, except for a one year period when I was anorexic. I've only been gluten free for 2 weeks and I have only binged once in that period of time, compared to every day! I believe the malnutrition/deficiencies, along with the opoids/casomorphins can lead to extreme cravings and this kind of behavior...
  12. Hmm what do you mean by this? Am I still going to get random moments of multiple re-occurring symptoms until I'm gluten free for a longer period of time? Detox of a sorts?
  13. This is very true. I think that my entire family severely misses the old, quiet Sabrina who never spoke a word and didn't even realize that she was a person, so allowed to be stepped on, as sad as that sounds.... that was who I was to them. They don't know this person that is coming out of me so suddenly. I don't even! Also, I'm interested in your story?...
  14. Thanks mushroom! That's all very helpful advice. I didn't know cross contamination could be continued through handling things also... This may be harder than I originally expected. No I have not been tested. I figured it out on my own, my symptoms were pretty severe. I was sick nearly every day of my childhood with chronic diarrhea, joint pain, headaches...
  15. Thanks.. I'm 17. I was not diagnosed, this is largely the problem. I had extreme symptoms and felt like a whole different person as soon as I went off of it, plus my mom is gluten intolerant so I diagnosed myself. I understand that my mom needs proof before she believes me fully, but I'm unwilling to suffer through 4-6 weeks of gluten for that proof. I live...
  16. Ok, thanks. It probably came from using pots for rice. We also have a very bad dishwasher, I don't think it's safe of me to use any of the same dishes (unless glass) because there is often things sticking to the dishes after they are washed. I'm glad I know now what has been causing this
  17. I'm getting a lot of negative attention from my family because of this.. stupid gluten intolerance and lactose intolerance. I got accidentally glutened and told my mom that I would need some dishes to be just mine, and she SIGHS, and calls me a hypochondriac. "SABRINA.. that's not possible... there are a lot of people who pretend to be sick for attention...
  18. I've been gluten free for only 2 weeks but I get these moments of joint pain and lethargy. I'm wondering whether using the same dishes as my family (who still eats lots of dairy and gluten) can have traces of gluten or lactose? Anybody use their own dishes??
  19. Are they accurate for intolerance and sensitivity or only celiacs disease??
  20. I need my sister to get checked for gluten intolerance, she has many physical and mental symptoms but refuses to acknowledge that it may be dietary. She is terrified of needles and thus refuses to go for a blood test, are there other tests that she can take, that are accurate?? Do labs do urinary tests as well??
  21. Is there anything I can eat to get the gluten out of my body faster? Foods that are blood purifiers or something?? Pretty desperate, I HATE this feeling.
  22. I know it's the gluten doing this to me making me depressed and dangerous but i'm addicted to it through my loneliness. I have severe social anxiety which is only amplified by gluten and it traps me in my house with my horrible horrible family. I am crying at the moment because I feel like I have nobody to help me with this, my mom thinks i'm making it up...
  23. I can only go 1 week at a time before I cave and eat icecream or crackers. (lactose and gluten sensitive). My family doesn't have enough money to buy many gluten free things, all that I can eat in the house is tuna potatoes and rice. Occasionally my mom buys coconut bliss for me but only once every 2 week kind of thing. I've asked if she would temporarily...
  24. Has anybody tried recovering with a raw food diet? I heard some talk about digestive enzymes being helpful, and it's what the raw food diet is all about. The body uses less energy to digest the food and devotes more to healing.
  25. Does anybody else eat wheat or what they're intolerant of purposely to harm themselves?? I can't stop and my house is always loaded with pies and breads and pizza because my mom buys them (who's also gluten intolerant...).... I feel horrible right now, light headed, sweating badly, unfocused, anxious, irritated, depressed, bloated, clumsy enough to be running...
