  1. Well said! Be firm and "Own it" (I love that!). She needs to understand the importance to your health. Geesh, I just don't get what the big deal was with you planning out the meals. If it were my friend who had a health issue I wouldn't think twice. We would eat what she eats and that's that...and I know that would be the case even before I developed...
  2. What type/flavour of Udi's does everyone get? Is it just one type? I currently eat Glutino Harvest Cornbread which is pretty darn good but it has to be toasted. I would LOVE to eat bread untoasted. I would rather never eat bread again than try to stomach frozen rice bread. YUCK. And I totally agree about Glutino products. Most of them are gross....
  3. Hello!! I've been gluten free for a couple of months now. I find the stomach upset issues to be really slow going. All the time after I eat, my stomach hurts (less than before but it still bothers me!). I know this will probably persist until things heal up in there from all the gluten I ate before diagnosis but wondering how long this has taken for...
  4. Wow...how lucky finding it accidentally! I'm waiting for test results from Enterolab right now for my son. I tried and tried but he is terrified of needles so there was no way to get a blood sample. Enterolab is pricey but at least I'll know for sure. And my son doesn't have tummy troubles either. In fact, my stomach problems only happened about 6 months...

    ARCHIVED Test

Just testing my post. None of my posts have been showing up for the last two days.....
  6. Hello, I've posted a couple of questions on the Coping with Celiac board since yesterday and nothing is showing up. Did I do something incorrectly? My first two posts showed up, no problem, but nothing since. Thanks
  7. Good morning! I had myself tested through Enterolab and I'm still not sure whether I'm gluten intolerant or actually Celiac. I know a lot of you are experts with these measure and wondering if you can tell me what the results below mean. Celiac or Gluten Intolerant? Either way I have to stay 100% gluten free (that was clearly stated in the results)...
  8. Hi Everyone! Wow, what a heat wave we have up here in Canada! I'm wondering about gall bladder attacks. Now that I know I'm gluten sensitive so many of my past strange health problems are flying into my head as a possible symptom of Celiac.... For about 13 years I've had what I believe to be gall bladder attacks. Right side, right under the ribs...
  9. How about this one: You ask to get your son tested for gluten sensitivity/celiac and he says "Geez, I haven't heard anything about that since med school. I wouldn't even know what tests to order". He then proceeds to give you a blank requisition and tells you to "fill out whatever tests you need, just don't go too crazy cuz it can get expensive". Seriously...
  10. Hi Everyone! I'm newly diagnosed and having my son tested right now for gluten sensitivity (waiting for results). He's 6 years old and one of the main reasons I want him tested is because of his behaviour. Don't know if this is common but everytime he eats gluten the reaction is like clockwork. About 2 hours afterwards the child is uncontrollably...
  11. Wow everyone....thanks for the words of wisdom! I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one to be affected like this. Kinda thought I was going crazy there for a bit. Once you get diagnosed it's funny how many things in the past you run through your mind and wonder "was that gluten?" For me I think that many (if not all) of my health problems resulted...
  12. Hi everyone, I'm new here. I was recently diagnosed as gluten intolerant. To tell you the truth, I don't really understand the difference between "gluten intolerant" and Celiac, but I'm not sure that the title makes any difference. I was "diagnosed" through stool and genetic testing by Enterolab. Boy, I'm just completely overwhelmed by the reaches...
