  1. Oooh I totally forgot about PB & J!!! Can't wait. That'll be tomorrow for lunch I checked out shipping and I think it's over $100 just for the bread so I can only imagine what it'd be with everything else I want to pick up. Hopefully they start carrying Udi's in Ontario soon!
  2. We travelled from Toronto this weekend and hit the PA outlets. On the way home I visited Whole Foods Co-op in Erie and cleaned them out of Udi's products . I've never had Udi's before and been dying to try it! Well....what can I say other than WOW!!!! My son, who has refused every gluten free bread since being diagnosed a few months back LOVES...
  3. Thanks BcG3!!!!
  4. Hi BcG, Sorry I don't have an answer about your bisquick because I'm from Canada but I'm wondering if you can let me know what the best store is in Buffalo to buy gluten free products (most variety). I'll be in Buffalo this weekend and I'm going to totally stock up (we don't have much here in Canada!). Also, have you seen Udi's bread around your neck...
  5. I thought I'd post the list I just received from Elizabeth Arden. This is all of their products that contain gluten (I love EA cosmetics!) Thank you for contacting Customer Care at ElizabethArden.com. For your convenience I have included below the complete list of Elizabeth Arden products containing gluten: Alfred Sung Forever Body Lotion Ardenbeauty...
  6. I feel that way often. Especially as I pack to go to the cottage with all of my family and I have to tote along every food imaginable for myself and my son. I have to bring my own toaster and somehow rig something to cover it up so nobody will mistakenly put their wheat bread inside . We're visiting friends for lunch while on vacation and I had to...
  7. My son's gluten intolerant and right on the cusp of having an autoimmune reaction to gluten so I think he'd be labeled "gluten intolerant" at this point. Hopefully it doesn't progress into full blown Celiac like me. He had absolutely no physical symptoms (which makes it so hard to explain why he can't eat gluten!). His symptoms were completely behavioural...
  8. I had neuro symptoms for a long long time before any GI symptoms started to show up. I had (and still get if I'm glutened) twitching, shooting nerve pains, increased sensitivity to touch (ie seams drive me crazy), brain fog, and pretty bad depression. The symptoms tend to last anywhere from 1 to 3 days depending on how much I ate. I had the IgA test...
  9. I've come to the conclusion that all my twitching and nerve pains are probably resulting from a nutritional deficiency. I was okay until I recently started boot camp. It's a pretty rough workout and I pour sweat and feel like I'm going to die (in a good way!). The problem with this is that I think it depletes my nutrients and because I'm eating gluten...
  10. Are there any mainstream shampoos and cosmetics that are gluten free? I know about Sauve but that's about it. I use Elizabeth Arden cosmetics and love them but no idea if they have gluten.
  11. I hate that it's labeled a "fad diet" but maybe more demand for gluten free products will mean greater production, development and lower prices (and hopefully more product in Canada)! I guess we just have to keep educating on person at a time
  12. Okay....trying to figure out neuro symptoms that seem to be here for no reason. I don't think I got glutened but alas, I've got all my twitching and stinging pin pricks going on. I read in my last neuro post that someone mentioned Candida can affect neuro symptoms. How do you know if you have Candida and can that be affected by antibiotics? The only...
  13. I personally think it might be a combination of hormones, better absorbtion and remission of celiac because your immune system is supressed during pregnancy. I've often thought of going on birth control to see what happens but I have a very strong family history of uterine cancer and my mother's gyno warned me never to take any hormones for any reason. ...
  14. Congrats on the pregnancy! I've had three babies and my neuro symptoms were completely absent while pregnant each time. I felt fantastic.....wish I could stay pregnant forever )
  15. I have celiac with mild gut symptoms but what I think is pretty significant neurological symptoms. When I eat gluten I get headaches, terrible depression and crazy muscle twitching and little stabbing pains all over. I've been gluten free for 4 months now (with a few accidental slip ups but I think I've done well lately). My question is how long does...
  16. Thanks so much mamaw!
  17. There's no Udi's in Ontario. They're only on the West Coast of Canada. I've already been in contact with both Udi's and Whole Foods and been told that they're working on carrying the product.
  18. I just posted about UDI's bread but I wanted to do this on a seperate post.... I'm hitting the Pennsylvania outlets in a couple of weeks but I plan to stop in Buffalo on the way back to stock up on gluten free products (ie cereal snacks etc etc). We have so little available here in Canada. I'd love to hear from anybody who is familiar with Buffalo...
  19. I'm going outlet shopping in a couple of weeks. Heading down to Pennsylvania from Toronto, Ontario Canada. Does anybody know if Udi's is carried anywhere in the Buffalo, Erie Pennsylvania or Grove City Pennsylvania area? I'd love to pick up a loaf (or 10!) on my way and stock up. Thanks
  20. My son's only 6 and he's completely gluten intolerant. I'm almost 100% positive that he's never eaten moldy bread (I have 3 kids, bread doesn't last long enough at our house to become moldy!). I suspect his condition was triggered either by the flu or the flu shot, will probably never know for sure. In his case, the mold theory wouldn't make sense. ...

    ARCHIVED Uti

It's really strange but I actually think the test is correct. I've been dead tired the last week with lots of cramping. I feel "off" but not with the usual symptoms. It's sad but I think I'm just so used to having slight bladder irritation that I ignore it and maybe I missed mild symptoms. Before I went gluten free my bladder was so irritated and this...
  22. I think so. Any time I buy organic products the labels are so straightforward that I just quickly read over them to make sure nothing sticks out. Never had a problem. It's so much easier than the regular products.....

    ARCHIVED Uti

I just got a call from my doctor advising me that my urine test came back positive for a UTI. I've had them before. They are brutal. Strange thing is that I have NO symptoms. I was getting tested for something else and this just happened to show up. The test was done a week ago and I still have no symptoms. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced...
  24. Thanks for all the advice. This is such a great supportive informative environment! I'm going to try some of your ideas to see if I can expand his menu Unfortunately here in Canada I can't get my hands on Udi's yet...I think it's a couple months until we get it in Ontario (fingers crossed). And we don't have Chex (which I know he would love...
  25. My son was recently diagnosed with gluten intolerance. I'm celiac but he hasn't progressed to that point (and my belief is that it can be a progression). His IgA level was pretty high so he must remai gluten free for life). Anyhow, I'm quite worried about his intake of vitamins and minerals. He's only 6 and EXTREMELY picky. He doesn't like meat (he'll...
