  1. Did you mean GEing? - for genetic engineering, or is the acronym GM for the same thing? Anyway - this is bizarre - first I've heard of it.... To me, it is sad - makes me think humans are just too self-centered... perhaps one of these chimeras will rise up and bite us in the buttocks one day.... This thread in now bizzarely interesting...and...
  2. LOL...people sure do take you VERY seriously... Enjoy your feast, and good luck at your doc appt - 'To be or not to be' - good one.....
  3. THANKS for sharing the 'fruits' of your labors, Gina PS: GOOD of you to post the complete replies, too -
  4. Hi, Guy from Loooooong Island.... I will write my answer in 'parts:' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART I Definitey gotta 'vote' for the biopsy isn't worth it UNLESS: 1) you NEED one for insurance, or to officially write-off costs of gluten-free foods (which typically amounts to very little in...
  5. Fascinating topic....interesting thoughts, Nancy...that Mother Nature thing was totally fleeting, but now that I've read your remarks, gotta truly wonder... Gina
  6. WOW - I wouldn't have even wondered, and I have it in my kitchen...thanks for the ?/answer. Gina
  7. Very cool, Claire - From the article, it seems that the genes themselves do not change (so the markers would not change), just the effects of them would change - that is, whether or not they get 'activated' by something in the diet would be what changes, and therefore whether or not they are 'told to' proceed to harm the body would be what changes - ...
  8. Yes. Walking away is a good idea.
  9. I respectufully strongly disagree with your conspiracy theory. I would like to suggest that you look into a support group for Gilbert's Syndrome, since your stomach symptoms are very typical of it, and are influenced by many natural substances. Best wishes, Gina
  10. Glad that you found the link to be helpful. I was AMAZED to learn about all of the food issues surrounding Gilbert's... Sorry to hear that your doc dismissed it, in a sense. Anyway...keep sleuthing, and pushing your docs, too, until you find all of your answers. Best wishes, Gina
  11. Rachael, My perceptions of what occured in the thread are my own - I felt that a number of people behaved improperly, including myself. The improper behavior of others, in my opinion, included 'ganging up behavior' - which continues here... My problem with Kaiti centered around her putting down the intelligence of anyone who believes the negative...
  12. Deb, I will have to respectfully disagree with you about whether or not others said anything inappropriate in their posts. AND, I never said anyone 'called me names' - where'd that come from, Deb? Anyway, glad that you have made good friends via the Net. It can be a friendly place, especially when people learn how to be polite - I would like to...
  13. Nice to hear that others have come to similar conclusions in their web-experiences, and have even learned when to walk away... If I could go back and 'do it over' now, the ganging up nonsense that went on (a very immature version of a popularity contest), the rude comments directed at anyone not believing in the paranoid conspiracy theory, and the like...
  14. Hello. Today, I learned some REALLY important things about being on a web support group, and I wanted to share them here: One thing I came to understand is that no matter how defensive people may get, it is still ok to criticize their ideas...but, it is NEVER ok to criticize a person. I also learned that when someone criticizes me (and/or those who...
  15. Hi Dancer, Just curious - did she address your Gilbert's Syndrome at all, and all of the foods that can affect it? Also, did you check out this link about that?: Open Original Shared Link Best wishes, Gina
  16. Excellent topic...void of conspiracy theories ;-) I REALLY enjoy cranial sacral therapy - check it out: Open Original Shared Link
  17. Ah...I see...I hope that you'll get the results you are hoping for... It's great that there is a BLOOD test we can do at home, though! I may use it myself, in-between doc appts... Best wishes, Gina
  18. LOL....Yep...that decribes us both to a t...a t-bone, that is ;-) Love, Gina
  19. LOL...oops. again...I didn't read the whole thread before posting my last post to you....so, you ordered it! Good for you! Glad that you will have your results SOON :-) Gina
  20. Sorry...I don't know where my mind was this afternoon when I was writing to you...not only did I confuse York and Enterolab, but I totally forgot that this test gives results in 10 mins! About a 're-test'....I'm not sure what you mean...I guess you mean that you are worried that IF you test positive, that your insurance won't allow you to re-test in 6...
  21. Perhaps the show could even do a blind taste test for non-diagnosed audience members...comparing gluten-free foods to 'the real thing'.... :-) Gina
  22. Right... we should not, of course, suggest that 'all' grains are bad' or even that all people need to stay away from wheat...and, trying to suggest anything along those lines would not be productive...point taken. Gina
  23. Have you read anything at all about Enterolab? BTW, serologic testing for celiac disease was only 'discovered' a few decades ago... Why does it seem so odd to you that stool testing for antibodies is not used by medical docs YET? Gina
  24. Hi, All - Thanks, Claire for continuing to push these concerns - I now plan to retest for antibodies to casein after about 6 months of both gluten-free/CF... If they come back positive, I'm off casein forever... If they are 'negative' at that point, though, I will then do a 4-day rotational intro of dairy WITH enzyme usage...If symptoms return...
  25. Hi Claire, Thanks for this post! Hope you're having a good day - Gina
