  1. Thanks, I'd appreciate that! Hope you get some answers and that it's not a cc issue. Although, for the sake of you finding out the problem, I suppose it would be good to know you could pin it on these and move forward with your health. (Also - I re-read and you did say the plain ones - sorry about my silly brain skipping over that!) I've tried the plain...
  2. This will be a bit rambling - sorry - tired. I have problems with potatoes, but am also on very few foods, and this is the one processed food I, unfortunately, still 'cheat' with when I am too tired to cook. So - I'm probably not much help, because these cause problems for me anyway. I wasn't sure if it was just the potato problem, or if maybe the salt...
  3. What a great experience! I'm so pleased for you! I am really glad to hear how professionally (and discreetly!) the staff assisted you. Hooray!
  4. Not sure which topic is most appropriate for this post, but this website does specifically talk about 'Leaky Gut', so maybe it's ok here. The following website: dogtorj . com (no spaces) has some interesting information, mainly about gluten, dairy, soy and corn, and the negative health effects of these. I'm not saying everything the author (a Vet who has...
  5. Sorry to hear you're dealing with this. I am fairly similar. My 'safe' foods number about 10, and the only one of them I actually 'like' is sea salt. But, hopefully things will get better for all of us. Just wanted to say - (and someone else has mentioned salicylic acid), look into salicylates, amines, and even glutamates. Also have a look at fructose...
  6. Thank you for your reply. I'm so sorry you had to learn the hard way, but I'm thankful that it helps me to avoid doing the same.
  7. Thanks so much for your reply! Your first two sentences are enough to convince me. I don't want ANY gluten getting in (ideally, ever), but particularly not while I'm still trying to heal, and I guess maybe the potentially tiny amounts might be enough that I don't feel any obvious effects, even though they might be damaging (haven't worked out my sensitivity...
  8. Sorry - I didn't see your post there before I made a second post! It was free - I definitely wouldn't have bought it myself. A family member sent it to me after seeing 'gluten free'. Thanks for your reply...I agree, I think it would probably be safest not to take it, but wanted a second opinion. (On a slightly unrelated note - I was thinking of you...
  9. To clarify:- I would imagine the potential risk of cc would be quite high, and that would be enough to convince me not to take the supplement. I know it is believed that with the gluten grains, if they are processed enough it is then safe to eat (that's not very eloquently written, sorry), but I've had a reaction to some products fitting this category...
  10. If you still haven't found anything, there is an Australian company called, 'Ethical Nutrients'. They make a probiotic that states on the label that it is free of gluten, corn, dairy (if you get the dairy free version) and a whole bunch of other things. It doesn't specifically mention soy, but I got the pharmacist to call the company and was told that they...
  11. I may be overreacting - hence asking for some expert opinion on here, but please could you tell me if YOU would think this is safe:- I've been given a trial of a product which is supposed to be beneficial for Leaky Gut. Honestly, I'm not convinced, and like almost all of us, I'd rather play it safe than suffer the consequences. The ingredients in question...
  12. Adding myself to the list - I've also found myself in this position. Normally, I'd just eat beforehand, but at a wedding, especially where the bride & groom have paid for your meal, I'd feel horrible for their sake not eating anything if there was a way to make the meal safe. I suppose it differs in terms of how well you know the person who invited...
  13. Rice has me yawning after a few minutes, with an elevated heartbeat and large, dark red patches under my eyes, and I'm asleep within half an hour of eating it. Sorry I can't be of any help - I haven't yet tried adding it back in, as I'm still healing and still developing more intolerances. Glad you finally figured it out as something that bothers you...
  14. Hi, I would LOVE to have a positive experience with a doctor or dietician, it would make such a nice change... Could anyone recommend any health professionals in the Brisbane area who specialise in or are highly knowledgeable in treating Leaky Gut? I've previously had an appalling dietician and GP, (I have fired both of them) so I'm open to all...
  15. Haha - I'm bad like that too - I always think, 'Well, I just want to try a little, just to see how it tastes'...but I mean a little of each thing I've bought.. Hope you can enjoy the Cherry Berry soon
  16. I'm expecting to find the same thing (that each new flavour I try becomes, 'the best!'). Most of my family are buying the raspberry flavour now as their first one to try..I'm still going for Three Berry next though , but I'll get to it, and probably think of you when I do haha!
  17. Which is your favourite? We don't have the full range over here yet, but I believe they're working on it! It took me ages to decide between three different flavours of jam. I eventually chose Strawberry, but next I'm going for Three Berry...which won't be long now, since I can't stop eating jam..
  18. Has anyone tried 'Anathoth' jam? (They make chutneys and relishes also.) Lots of different flavours...I'm planning to try them all. I searched my local supermarket and found them to be the ONLY brand without any corn additives (yes, even the 'organic' brand failed my test). Better yet - it tastes so fantastic, and only has fruit and sugar..no nasty and...
  19. For anyone interested, I have found a website that has wallet cards for corn allergy/intolerance available for free download. The card includes a list of common corn-derived ingredients. Hopefully the link will work. I made it into a 'tiny url', but it will take you straight to the wallet card page. Here it is: Open Original Shared Link
  20. "Thoroughly researched and prepared for inevitable chocolate attacks", not, "Naughty" !!
  21. That's why I was amazed (and a little upset) to read that it had been decided for us what we could handle...especially since it says that there is not a 100% agreement on the issue. I think also because it's not necessarily in every batch it might be harder to determine, but shouldn't it have a 'may contain' warning on at least?? If it is labelled, at...
  22. Thanks - that's helpful . I'll plan a weekend when I have nothing important to do, just in case, and give it a try sometime - it does look fantastic!
  23. I'm sorry you have something else to watch out for now . Soy does seem to be in 'everything', doesn't it! I'm sure this will not come as a revelation to many people, but I only just found out: vegetable oil often contains a large amount of refined oil from soy beans. My source says that this doesn't have to be declared on the bottle as doctors have decided...
  24. I saw Movenpick in the supermarket (Coles) yesterday!! They had a nice range too. I had a look at the ingredients and found the glucose source was wheat. Are you ok with it being processed to that level? (I've seen other posts where some people say they don't have a problem with it - I've never felt comfortable taking a risk, just in case.) ...
