  1. (This may be in the wrong spot; I'm not sure where it would fit, so perhaps a moderator could move it if necessary, please!) How long do you think it might be before we see "glutened" (or a similar word) in the dictionary? If 'usage' is one of the main ways that a word is found, tracked and added, then surely the lexicographers will pick up this word...
  2. Hi Beebs I don't eat ice-cream, but my mum (also gluten free) has been buying 'Bulla' ice-cream for years without a problem. (Though please check the ingredients to make sure nothing has changed/been added!) Forgot to say:- Bulla do use corn, so hopefully you don't have to avoid corn!
  3. Perhaps you could make fritters - I'm not sure if you would call them something different over there, but they are like a savoury pancake, and your little boy can pick them up to eat them. Since texture is an issue, you could pre-cook the vegetables you put in the batter to make them extra-soft, or maybe even puree them first and add to the batter as...
  4. Vegemite! On a crusty multi-grain baguette, or just multi-grain sandwich bread. There is a gluten free substitute, 'MightyMite', but it tastes nothing at all like the real thing. (Obviously, I'm Australian!)
  5. Mine went away too. It took only a few weeks of being on a gluten free diet, but I guess it might take a different amount of time for every individual.
  6. Oh no! Did they not realise? (Did you at least get to eat some of the brownies?)
  7. After months of looking for something suitable, I recently found rice pasta (no corn, no soy - hooray!). I was excited to see the same brand had a stall at the Gluten Free Food Expo I attended yesterday, and bought a packet of their spaghetti. Well, apparently my sub-conscious is as excited about this new find as I am. I had a dream last night about...
  8. Congratulations! What a beautiful surprise
  9. I'm an extremely picky eater and have been a vegetarian for over 10 years. Now I'm off gluten, dairy, corn and soy, (and hate eggs) I have to admit I've been having a few 'inappropriate' thoughts about ham! (Inappropriate for a vegetarian, that is!)
  10. Hi, Have you tried Sch
  11. You could also possibly consider making, or having a card made up to keep in your wallet. Many people with communication difficulties keep these. It's not as obvious, but could still be found and useful to medical staff if the situation arose.
  12. I went to a wedding earlier this year where a gluten-free quiche was served as one of the courses. It was great, and all guests seemed to enjoy it (I did!).
  13. I just signed up to be a member after reading this particular discussion topic. Just wanted to share that I am currently gluten and dairy free but have a history of eating disorders. I had a large number of family members who are also gluten intolerant, but had wondered if my previous anorexia had done anything to speed up my own problems with gluten...
