  1. Oh for cryin out loud.....Irish means well, she always mean well. She has nothing but everyones best interest at heart. The way I see it is if gluten makes you sick, don't eat it! Corn makes me sick as hell and I didn't need some doctor to tell me not to eat it.
  2. It is very possible that it is from corn. Part of my corn allergy includes yeast and or UTI and bladder pain and irritation. It's all GMO and unnatural. With every minor cc with corn, all of those symptoms come back. Might be worth a shot. I hope you all are better soon.
  3. LOL!!!! Love it!
  4. I tend to shy away from restaurants due to the gluten and my severe corn and nut allergies. I eat a lot of sweet potatoes. I eat potatoes every day for my starch and carbs. Thanks everyone for the ideas. I appreciate it. edited for my horrible typing.
  5. It seems that many of us here have so many things besides celiac in common. I wish we could all live in the same state. The celiac state. I don't work outside of the home but my husband travels for his job and is gone a lot so I need to be here to hold down the fort. I use to be a teacher though and loved it. Yes, I agree..thanks goodness for...
  6. Irish, your story is very similar to mine. Celiac robbed me of having children too. We are both healing and getting better and stronger though! Thanks for all of the suggestions and ideas. I appreciate it! Big Hugs! - MO
  7. You wanna see super sized, come to Kansas and Missouri! I get what you mean though. It's odd how people from different parts of the country are into different things. We are going to Colorado in late august. We rented a condo this time so the cooking and meals will be easier. I told my husband that I may be a squatter there and just stay in the condo...
  8. Thanks everyone. I love all of the ideas! I will be trying them soon. Sounds great.
  9. I live in the sticks. There is corn in front and soybeans in back. Too bad i'm allergic to both...my luck...why cant potatoes grow there? I'll see what I can find. Thanks for the suggestions.
  10. I am very excited about the Olympics starting tomorrow!!! Anyone else? I really love the swimming, diving and gymnastics. I also love London and the scenery there.
  11. It's mind boggling how gluten makes us all so so sick. Crazy! That sounds very painful! ugh. I wonder why it makes us anxious and depressed. I literally cry for a few days when I get zapped. The intestinal pain makes me cry but it's not that, it's like deep deep depression and it lifts after a day or 2. It's kind of scary. I figured out why I...
  12. I have not but, the brown sugar sounds good! I'm not a big mustard fan but love brown sugar.
  13. Awesome! Thanks. Those links are great. I am just looking for something to put over my meatballs and meatloaf. I think those links will work. Tarnal, those recipes are great!
  14. I can't tolerate canned tomato products at all. I can however eat all of the fresh ones. Does anyone know how to make some kind of tomato sauce or "pasta" sauce using fresh ones.
  15. I recently read an article that said that a celiacs response to gluten is individual. I thought we could post what happens to us so we could compare our symptoms. Mine lasts 2 weeks and here is the pattern. It is the same exact thing every time. Like clockwork. Bloating, gas, intestinal pain, diarrhea, anxiety and emotional symptoms, sores on my face...
  16. I am gluten, dairy and corn free. Corn may be your something else. With that said, can you eat before the rehearsal dinner or bring your own food. I know it sucks and is a pain in the rear but if it keeps you from getting sick... Lots of us here eat like you do.
  17. Thanks so much for the response. I was looking forward to your reply as well. It's too late for a garden where I live but I am headed to the nursery later this week to get some herbs that I can grow! This will make a huge difference in my cooking. We have some farmers markets near me that I am going to check out too. You are so right about the gluten...
  18. Shauna, thank you! I was hoping that you would chime in as I know that you eat this way too. The thing is, I never really ate packaged foods when I didn't have celiac, so why would I do it now? I guess it's because it's all there is. I always made my baked good from scratch with flour and eggs, etc. I never liked the mixes and I don't care for the gluten...
  19. I do whole foods only. I eat meat, fruit and veg. The processed things that I do use are coffee, olive oil, salt and pepper. Thats it. It's simple and the only way that I can feel good.
  20. LOL...tastes like soapy chemicals. Don't try it! :D
  21. In my opinion X gum tastes like crap no matter what it is grown on. I'll check out the mixes. Thanks everyone!!!!! Why is this stuff so damn expensive. Makes fruit seem so much more appealing. Maybe I should get on with things and start making smoothies and stuff like that. I do really appreciate all of the help!
  22. I am just wondering if some of you that are grain free can post some of the things that you eat for meals. Thanks!
  23. I couldn't agree more!! Well said!
  24. Ugh! I feel for you because I have been there myself. I had this for 3 years. Every single time my period ended, I got a yeast infection. It took a good 6 months of no gluten, corn or dairy to get it to clear up. I haven't had one in years. It was directly related to my celiac and food allergies. Also, Dove unscented soap is the best thing to wash...
