  1. I guess if there is a bright side to celiac it is that we have the best diets out of everyone we know!
  2. Thanks everyone for the responses. It seems we are all in the same boat. I am going to have to keep a food diary to track things. Chad Sines, I could have written your post myself. I have the exact same issues.
  3. Thanks everyone for responding. It seems that we are all pretty much the same with the pain. Sometimes I think celiac could not hurt this badly until I come here and read. It's terrible and painful for us all but it's comforting to me that I am not alone in this and we all go through the same thing. Thanks for the advice. I tried the heating pad last...
  4. Okay...I hate to admit this but I LOVE Big Brother. Anyone else addicted to this show?
  5. You are probably right. Corn is starting to make me feel even worse than gluten if that is at all possible. Trapped gas and PAIN! Do you need a RX for what you are talking about?
  6. Every single time I take this certain over the counter pain reliever, I feel very glutened, I don't take NSAIDS so this is the other. I have a corn allergy but this is more of a painful digestive gluten type reaction. What do other super sensitives take for pain relief. Is there anything natural and not full of chemicals? I am just having a hard time...
  7. I was just wondering why reactions to gluten get stronger and worsen over time. I use to be able to eat a lot of the gluten free cookies and breads or anything marked gluten free but now after 3+ years of being gluten free, I can't eat anything processed anymore and corn makes me as sick as gluten. Just when I get to feeling pretty well, I will eat something...
  8. I have celiac and a severe corn allergy along with a casein allergy and soy. I haven't eaten out in 2 years. It's like playing Russian roulette. It would be very hard if not impossible to find a menu item without corn in some form. Even the bagged lettuces are washed with a citric acid (corn wash) If it's not corn, there is usually soy in it.
  9. You are going to have to get your own toaster. Sharing a toaster will not work even if you mark the 2 gluten free slots. You have to treat gluten like it is rat poison. You wouldn't share a toaster with that. Also, you need your own containers of condiments etc. Don't stress..you will get it all figured out.
  10. Thanks! This is not a disease for the impatient. I guess I just have to wait it out...again!
  11. That happened to me one time at Petsmart. Instead of getting a cart, I decided to carry the dog food. By the time I got to the car, my arms and wrists were covered in itchy, red bumps. I have a dog that I feed wheat free dog food to. I don't think it's gluten free though. I wear a pair of work gloves to feed him and then come in to wash my hands....
  12. After being glutened and after the D is over, does your whole lower intestinal area feel very sore or bruised. Is there anything to help the pain other than time?
  13. Hi, I see this when glutened. After the D ends and the pain starts to subside some, I get floating stool and mucus. It has to do with fat malabsorbtion and is just part of celiac. It comes and goes and comes with a glutening. Just be careful and make sure that you are not getting CC from somewhere.
  14. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode, No Soup For You!
  15. I didn't get a chance to make it to the theater to see The Hunger Games so I can not wait until it comes out on DVD in August! I love the books and can't wait to see the movie.
  16. Pot roast, carrots and potatoes. So much leftover that I will probably have it for breakfast too.
  17. Why don't just go and have a good time and bring your food cooked by you from home. This way, everyone is happy and you wont get sick.
  18. Thank you for this info. I will check into it. I appreciate it.
  19. I have had terrible neck pain for 3 years. My jaw clicks a lot too and is very painful. This all started when celiac did. I think it's all connected.
  20. Thanks everyone! I agree, something about celiac makes periods worse. This is def. a gluten/period combo. I'll spare you the details but boy, is this painful. My hormones drive me to eat things that I normally would never eat. Processed things and every single time, I get zapped. -Back to nothing processed. I can do this! Just when I start feeling halfway...
  21. I live in a small town with one grocery store about a half hour from here. I can't eat it anymore but I noticed that SOMEONE is buying the Udi's bread there. I have been counting the loaves. Sometimes I feel like the only one when I see peoples carts full of crackers and bread. So yes, they are out there! I keep telling myself this when I feel like...
  22. Does anyone else feel glutened while on their period? Last night I tried something new to eat and within 2 hours, I looked 6 mo. pregnant. My typical reaction to gluten. This morning I got my period. I have been in the bathroom with D most of today. I sometimes get D with my period but this seems more like a glutening because of my other symptoms. ...
  23. Oh! So sorry Irish!! I thought I was responding to Skylark. I am blaming this on my current status of having my period and glutened and or corned today. Glutened and period = bad bad combo. Anyway. Thank you! I will give him a call as soon as I can make sense!
  24. Hi Sky, Do you know if these are corn free? Do you have a package that you can look on for me? Things to look for..citric or malic acid or anything dextrose or natural flavors or anything with the word vegetable. Thanks! What about casein? I'm on the hunt for one too. Culturelle did me in. Never again will I take those. Corn city!
  25. A hamburger with grilled red, yellow and green pepper and some grilled purple onion all piled on top.
