I don't really know what else to call it so I am going with wet gas. When glutened by CC, I get wet gas with the intestinal cramps and pain. I have to be somewhere tonight and I have been in the bathroom all day with this. Is there anything to do to stop it? This is misery!!!!

ARCHIVED Help
GFreeMO replied to lisamh76's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I couldn't find the white in my area so I ordered it from Amazon. I grind about half a bag at a time in the blender. Dry. Then I just make the ground up rice in a pot. I usually use 2 1/2 cups of water and 1/3 cup of the ground rice. This feeds 2 people or can be saved for later. I add C&H brown sugar and some fruit. I really like it. -
ARCHIVED Help
GFreeMO replied to lisamh76's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
All of those cereals that others mentioned are NOT CORN FREE. The vitamin enrichment is from corn. I am very allergic to corn and pretty much anything in the USA that is enriched is from corn. With that said, I use Lundberg White Rice. It is unenriched from a gluten free and corn free facility. I grind it in my blender and make a hot rice cereal... -
ARCHIVED Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks for the ideas. I forgot to mention that I can't have anything processed like mustard or salsa or canned tomatoes. I'm allergic to corn and it all has corn. I am thinking of doing something with lemon and dill or parsley. I usually do that with skinned chicken. I am worried about it drying out. -

I have a freezer full of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Other than grilling them, I have NO clue what to do with these? I don't tolerate any of the flours so breading is not an option. Any ideas? Thanks! -
ARCHIVED A Juice For Us Corn Free-Ers!
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
If the cans say apple juice concentrate and water then those are corn free too! I'll have to look for them. If you look on the cans, it will say Vitamin C is zero. The stuff they add to juice to get it to have the 100% daily rec. of vitamin C is synthetic crap from corn. I like that Tree Top apple juice is from the USA too. Yu are right about corn... -

Only the GALLON size is corn free. The other sizes have ascorbic acid which is from corn. Thats the problem with corn allergens and juice. The citric or ascorbic acids come from corn. This is a rare find! -
I found this and am excited because I miss juice so much. It's only for the GALLON size. I emailed them to see if it was indeed corn free. Here is what they said. Thank you for contacting us with your questions and concerns regarding ascorbic acid and corn derivatives in our 1 gallon size Tree Top Apple Juice. There is no added ascorbic acid in our...

ARCHIVED What Brand Of Rice Do You Use?
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Super Sensitive People
Uncle Ben's plain ol' white rice is corn free too. I had it this morning for breakfast with brown sugar and apples. It's cheap and easy to find. I called the company and they assured me that it is corn free. Lundberg is good too but it's soooo expensive. -
Thanks for your help though!!!!! I am allergic to nuts so I don't that that will work for me but I am sure I will figure something out. Us celiacs always do!!

Amaranth sounds good! I bet I could have that. Any idea where to buy it? I live in a one horse town..maybe Amazon? Seeds are ok if they are raw. I've never actually eaten dried fruits besides raisins and I can't have grapes or raisins. I've seen banana chips and dried apricots and that kind of thing. I've been too scared to try b/c I am worried about...

I can't really have anything from a package. I was thinking hardboiled eggs would be something easy to make and take in a cooler. I want some kind of trail mix or snack mix. I love kale chips but I don't think they save..same thing for homemade potato chips. I never thought of homemade dried fruit, that may be an option.

I am a super sensitive who reacts to almost everything processed. With that said, I am looking for a box of cereal that may be safe. I am going on a week long trip and need something safe to munch on for breakfast or to take with me in a baggie. Any ideas? I am allergic to corn and nuts.

ARCHIVED Travel For Those Who Can't Eat Anything Processed.
GFreeMO posted a topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
We are going to Colorado for a week. Because of celiac and a corn and dairy allergy, I can't eat anything processed. I have to cook all of my own foods. How can I do this away from home? I will have access to a kitchenette where we are staying but we wont be hanging out there, it will be a home base b/c we are going to be out and about hiking and things... -
Corn gives me the same symptoms as gluten does too. I also get bladder issues and yeast issues (female) from corn. I recently gave up rice and I feel so much better. It's difficult at first but maybe trying grain free may help you too. I hope you feel better soon!

ARCHIVED Anyone With Endometriosis?
GFreeMO replied to livelifelarge24's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I'm glad that you found something to help!! I have a casein allergy so that wont work for me. I usually drink hot lemon water with sugar and that seems to help me some. Also a hot bath and just relaxing with the heating pad. I like your comparison to a gutted fish! Thats exactly how gluten makes me feel. -
Thanks everyone. We are going to go look around this weekend. It does sounds like a pretty good deal. I never thought about paper products and tires. Those would be an extra bonus.

ARCHIVED Question For Those Who Are Grain Free
GFreeMO posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am going grain free because of symptoms not resolving. I am very allergic to corn and now I am suspecting rice. I am not sure if the rice is CC with corn from the enrichment or cleaning process or what but I do know that I am reacting. Those of you who are grain free, why did you go grain free and did it help? -
ARCHIVED Anyone With Endometriosis?
GFreeMO replied to livelifelarge24's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I've had endometriosis since I was 19. I am in my late 30's now. Going gluten free did help me too for a long time but now there is no difference. It's hard because glutening pains sometimes feel like endo pains. I also think that when glutened, it can make all of the endo scar tissues inflammed and thats why we don't feel better. We feel both glutening... -

Just got this from Lundberg. I guess it's well worth the extra cost!!! Dear Valued Consumer, Thank you for taking the time to contact Lundberg Family Farms it is very important to us to hear from our valued consumers. We do not enrich any of our rice varieties additionally; the facility is free of corn. Thank you, -

ARCHIVED What Brand Of Rice Do You Use?
GFreeMO replied to GFreeMO's topic in Super Sensitive People
Enriched rice is enriched with corn. The enrichment is sprayed on with corn starch. Things such as this make corn allergies really hard to live with because most of the time it is not listed on the label. For me, with my corn reaction trying to rinse the corn off would be the same as trying to wash gluten off of something. -

Oh..whoops...I have a severe corn allergy so I have to have a corn free one so the enriched rice at the grocery store wont work. The only brown unenriched rice I have seen in my store is Mahatma and I think it's cc with corn. -
ARCHIVED Question About Glutening
GFreeMO replied to Mnicole1981's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Isn't that annoying not knowing if it is glutening or a period coming on. I go through the same thing since the cramping is similar. I was glutened last week and felt horrible but the cramps are persisting my period is due soon too so it's hard to tell. Anyway, I eat chicken with salt and pepper and brown rice and drink a lot of water. -
I have been thinking of joining Sam's club because I go through so much fruit and rice etc. Is this a good value? Is it cheaper than Walmart? I have a problem shelling out the 50 bucks to join. Any thoughts?
