  1. Did anyone else have elevated liver enzymes before being diagnosed? If so, what exactly does this mean? Did they go back to normal after several months?
  2. Does anyone use the Costco - Kirkland brand of organic rice milk? It says gluten free on the box. If I buy it, I have to get an entire case so I just want to make sure it's on the up and up. Thanks - MO
  3. I was just prescribed a new medication. It's generic Zoloft. Sertraline is the name of it. It's mfg. is Lupin. Does anyoen know if this is gluten free and/or how would I go about finding out. The pharmacist had no idea and my doctor said there is no gluten in any RX. Hmmmmmmmm. Thanks! MO I looked on the gluten free drug list and the Sertraline...
  4. That is exactly what happens to me when I am glutened. The mucus thing. It may be undigested fat and not mucus. Either way, it sounds like you were glutened. Do you have a problem with corn? I see this when corned as well. Feel Better!
  5. Coconut milk has a laxative effect in many people. Me included. I can't have it at all. Google it. Sorry it's not working for you.
  6. Ugh! I know exactly how you are feeling. Mine are 21-28 days apart. And always crampy and make me feel like complete crap. I agree with ya! Sucks!
  7. I thought we were not suppose to eat rye. I miss bread.
  8. THis was for my family not just for myself! I am suppose to be low sals and peppers are not low in sals by any means. Thats all we had in the house though. It tasted great but I really need to pay attention to the sals more carefully. Thanks everyone.
  9. How about getting a small George Foreman Grill. I have a small one that will cook 2 burgers or 2 chicken breasts. You could make a burger or grilled chicken and have a salad. It takes less than 10 min. to cook meat on it. It's very easy.
  10. Baked chicken with fresh thyme from my herb garden, oven roasted red potatoes and carrots.
  11. It sounds like you have been glutened. Thats how I feel when I have been. I also had to give up corn, corn syrup..especially in soda would make me feel like that for days. Anything with corn makes me horribly constipated. I would drink lots of water to help get things moving and stick to a whole foods diet for a while. Maybe have some chicken with salt...
  12. Thank you. I need to take your advice and take things one day at a time or even one hour at a time. I am sure that you go through this too. You can go from feeling ok to feeling really bad in a matter or hours...or minutes. Keeping busy and keeping my mind off of it will help. I love to read too. In fact, I was just looking online for some new books...
  13. Dairy does that to me too. You may need to go off dairy for a while and add it back later on. Sucks but better than feeling like you do.
  14. Your positive attitude is amazing! I have arthritis, so I know the day to day pain. Some days it gets bad and when you add gut cramps and celiac on top, it gets me down. I need a new attitude!
  15. I don't keep a food diary but I am suppose to be low SALS. Those peppers put me in SALS overload! I agree with Ron, if you live PERFECTLY and eay only your safe foods you can feel better.
  16. I know what you mean! I never could grow my hair long, now it is down to my lower back! Sounds like we are absorbing our food now!
  17. I think you are right that a positive attitude goes a long way. I'm trying!!! Perimenopause is not helping matters. Oh, the joys of being 40+
  18. I've been gluten free for almost 3 years. I have become a super sensitive. I only eat meat, fruit and veg. No grains and no casein and nothing processed at all. I eat massive amounts of fruit...tons..maybe I need to cool it on some of that.
  19. Friday I woke up feeling good. I thought to myself oh wow nothing hurts. Then came Friday night. I made this big stir fry with steak and 5 bell peppers and spent the night in the bathroom. Not glutened i am sure..just reacting to all of those peppers. I just get so pissed when I sit and remember how good I use to feel and everything that I use to do....
  20. Just wondering if anyone ever feels really really good. LIke good as in before all of the celiac started? It seems that for me, I am either having gut pain, a headache, joint pain, muscle pain, back pain....etc...Every day I have one symptom or another. I guess I am just a little annoyed. The doctors act like if you just go gluten free, you will be all...
  21. On all of the corn allergy forums.
  22. That sounds like a perfect place to grow your herbs! I have never used seeds. I buy mine at the nursery already growing. They are pretty inexpensive and easier. If you want to grow from seed, Lowes and Home Depot have the seed packets. I don't see what that wouldn't work as well.
  23. Ron, Same for me. I can't tolerate rice either. The enrichment is adhered to the rice with a spray of corn starch. Corn is everywhere. I agree, it is harder and takes a lot of planning. I have been at this 3 years. At first, I could eat all of the gluten free packaged foods. Now, I have to stick with meat, fruit and veg only or I get sick. I have...
  24. Hi, I have never grown garlic but I have grown several other things. I have always done this outside and they don't always do well because bugs tend to eat them. Currently I am growing my herbs in a sunny window inside. I have rosemary, oregano, basil and dill growing. You can grow anything that you want. It will all do well. Not sure on the garlic...
  25. I see this when I am glutened or corned. It's common to get pains like that with celiac. When I am glutened or corned, I feel that way for days. If you have been glutened or "blank" recently, you may need to up your water intake. I tend to get dehydrated easily. Do you think you may have a problem with corn? Corn tends to make me feel like i have...
