    I will be traveling to Sutton, WV in a week. Does anyone out there know of stores that may sell gluten free food items or restaurants that have gluten free friendly menus? Any help would be appreciated. I did find restaurants in Charleston(an hour away) but no food stores. Thanks for your help!!!

    My daughter just had this done. She has had two endoscopies/biopsies in the last three years.     Anne- My daughter has the Addison's, Celiac and Hypothyroid just wanted to make sure you are aware that thyroid disease is also one of the autoimmune diseases linked to addison's and celiac.     Yes, the symptoms are very much like Celiac. My daughter went undiagnosed for years. We thought her Celiac was just not getting better. Last summer she got a really nice bronze tan.     NO JOKE! My daughter after a year and a half of still not getting better on the Celiac diet was just diagnosed with Adrenal Insufficiency or Addison's disease. This is another autoimmune disorder that is linked to undiagnosed Celiac. Symptoms Low Blood pressure, fatigue, muscle weakness, diarrhea, nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss etc..     Have you had your Thyroid checked? My daughters Endocrine Doctor has stated that her thyroid problems are the cause of her cracked hands. We use Burt Bees hand repair. It seems to work the best.

    Christine- This is not an unreasonable request. My daughter's school let us provide a microwave for her use only. It is located in the lunch room. The school assigned an aide to help her heat her lunch(She is 7yrs). I go in and clean it regularly during the week. It has worked out fabulous!!! Jessica

    I found a recipe in Bette Hagman's "THE GLUTEN-FREE GOURMET COOKS COMFORT FOODS" page 226. Many people on the board thought this recipe was to much work. I make the featherlight mix up ahead of time. My whole family has had these and find they are very similar to the southern biscuit.     Circeannc- I know Children's Loratadine Syrup (fruit flavored) is gluten free. I called the company Taro pharm in Israel. They were very knowledgable about celiac and gluten! If your pharmacy does not carry it I'm sure they will order it for you.

    My daughter is 7 years old. I thought that maybe she was at first, I don't think that now. She knows how serious this is. Also, I am around her a majority of the time and all the gluten containing food is up high, at 42 1/2 inches tall even with a chair she can't reach!

    I hope someone can help me out here. I have conflicting information on this medication. The book by Jax Peters Lowell "The Gluten - Free Bible states that Levoxyl is not gluten free but glutenfreedrugs.com states that it is gluten-free . Does anyone know for sure if it is or isn't?     Did your doctor say remove DAIRY or is your daughter LACTOSE intolerant. My daughter is lactose intolerant and that eliminates most dairy.     Does anyone know if LA CHOY soy sauce is gluten free.I looked at the ingredients and it seems to be gluten free. ingredients:WATER, SALT, HYDROLYZED SOY PROTEIN, CORN SYRUP, CARAMEL COLOR, POTASSIUM SORBATE(PRESERVATIVE) Am I missing something? Thanks
