  1. So, after 17 weeks going gluten free, and 8 since my last glutening, I'm starting to feel like my "old self" again. Aside from a corn kernel which got jammed into my gums that I'm waiting for to dislodge (unrelated rant, I know, but still a pain) I'm almost back to normal. I wanted to thank you all, everyone on this site, and especially everyone who's...
  2. I get the abdominal pain/cramping, but not diarrhea or constipation. We all tend to personalize this though it seems. The trick is going to be finding something that works well for you to get over it. If you live in part of the country that's going through this hot spell right now, you may wanna try to stay more hydrated also.
  3. From their website: "Although we do not use gluten as a filler in TUMS, there may be trace amounts of gluten in TUMS Smoothies Cocoa and Cream flavor via ingredients that are supplied by outside vendors. Other products of TUMS do not contain gluten. Review the
  4. I just found some of these at a local store last night, and it's AMAZING. Tastes very similar to how I remember Guiness tasting before I knew I was celiac...
  5. I'm from MI as well... if you wanna chat sometime, drop me a line, I'll send you my contact info. I'm always looking for new friends too The best to you both Josh
  6. Feel free to drop me a line anytime, my contact info is on my profile here, so feel free to use it Talk soon! Josh
  7. Something I've found works well is just aspirin, it cuts down the inflamation and eases to discomfort a bit. Besides that, keep your diet simple for a few days. Things that also seem to work for me are drinking ginger ale, and eating nuts... We all seem to personalize this though, so who knows what will work best for you? Hope you feel well soon!
  8. Pretty much any fast food place for that matter. I don't miss fast food AT ALL since going gluten free.
  9. You described almost exactly what I go through! You're not alone here, we'll all be here for you!
  10. From what I've read on the KFC website, there's nothing at KFC that we can have aside from the coleslaw. Even the grilled chicken has gluten in it. I'd stay away if I was you.
  11. It'd be nice to have a few friends around here who know what I'm going through, they seem to be in short supply. I'm from Mid-Michigan, near Flint to be exact. If you're nearby, or even if you're not, and you'd like to trade stories, or just need a friend who's going through this too, I'd love to hear from you.
  12. So, prior to this week, I had been gluten free for 6 weeks, and had finally shrugged my symptoms almost 100%. Last week, I used some Swanson Low Sodium Chicken Broth to make some rice, and got glutened from it. A week later, and I'm still feeling the effects, and they're getting worse, today is the worst I've felt in almost 2 months. I'm cramping, bloated...
  13. I'm actually dealing with sort of the same thing right now. It's Tuesday, and on Friday night, I got ahold of some gluten in some chicken broth. I've felt like I've had the flu ever since, but not as severe as it used to be. I'd been gluten free for 6 weeks prior to that, and for most of those 6 weeks, I felt perfect. All I can tell you is to hang in...
  14. Aquafresh is gluten free according to their FAQ. Open Original Shared Link
  15. I just emailed Campbell's to see what the deal is. My guess is that it's a labeling issue. Their gluten free list is pretty vague and pathetic.
  16. I used some Swanson's Low Sodium last night, and it messed me up pretty bad... Does anyone know a good one to use that is for sure gluten free? The Campbell's website says Swanson is supposed to be ok, but after last night I'm not sure I trust it.
  17. I have been gluten free for 3 weeks straight, almost 4 now, prior to this the furthest I'd gotten was about 2 weeks, but when I got glutened, it was by of all things, Tylenol. I felt like I had the flu for about 2 days afterward. Aches, nausea, the big "D", headache, the whole shot. I don't think you could pay me enough money to test the waters now that I...
  18. I've been 100% gluten free for 3 weeks now, and last week out of nowhere I started feeling like I was having very mild glutening symptoms... For me when I get glutened I seem to get bloated, nauseous and have headaches and general body aches. It hasn't been really crazy bad, just enough to annoy me and not feel tip top like I have for weeks now. I'm also...
  19. Thanks Lisa! That's all I needed to know
  20. I found the old post, but as Lisa said, it was from 2006. A lot can change in 5 years. Also, I'm well aware of how to use Google, had I not done that, I probably wouldn't have posted here.
  21. I've found a lot of conflicting information on Klondike Bars online, no one seems to agree if the original ones are gluten free or not. Does anyone here know?
  22. I turn 31 on Sunday, and just went gluten free. I'm 5 weeks in and feeling so much better. Looking back, there's been signs all the way back into my early teen years, but they were never an issue so I just overlooked it.
  23. I'm in the same boat as you are Justin. I'm about 5 weeks into gluten free. Last night I had some gluten free bread my mom made me, but it was made in a pan that was used for regular baking and it seems to have set me off. Not as bad as I used to get, but when you've been feeling perfect for a week, it's pretty easy to tell if you've been "glutened". I'm...
  24. It really does seem to be variable. I'm 4 weeks in, and today I feel great, but Tuesday I felt like hell. There's gonna be up's and down's, just like with any other illness, but you just gotta keep at it.
  25. Thanks! They won't answer my email, so I was wondering.
