  1. Yikes it's almost time! Now nine months prego and the day is literally around the corner! I do have some concerns, I've had a couple cross contaminations with gluten (darn potholder was sitting on top of the steamed vegetables) you can probably guess that wasn't fun last night. My question is, since celiac disease does indeed throw off my hormone balance...
  2. Like someone mentioned above, keep an eye out for your prenatal vitamins being gluten free or not, they could make you really sick if they have gluten in them. I felt pretty bad all of a sudden in my sixth and seventh months but it was because I was way way low on the calcium and magnesium and the baby was sucking up all that my body had to grow. SO I was...
  3. I'm totally right there with everyone that's posted. Here is my two cents WE are the customers, doctors are providing the service, therefore we are indeed responsible for our choices of their suggestions and our choice to ask for alternative tests/opinions/etc. Growing up, my family thought of me as being such a hard nose for bossing the doctors around...
  4. For some gluten intolerant people and celiac people, the reactions are to more and more foods over time that aren't gluten contaminated. This website that were on has articles that document the research that can teach how this happens. From my understanding, it is mostly an intestinal over sensitivity to other foods that wouldn't normally cause a reaction...
  5. Honestly it's not so bad being pregnant. Minus the swelling from various foods or things I drink that I have been informed are gluten free. The baby is growing quickly, seems to have growth spirts like a normal kid does out of the womb. I swear, in one week, I went from 145-150 and stayed there! I thought the scale was broken, I put the scale in the goodwill...
  6. This may be due to pregnancy but I just ate about two cups of the golden french fries by Heinz and they made me swell so badly last night that I could not lay down. My guts were swollen and bulging out from under my ribs, I seriously hope that wasn't from gluten, but that is all I had last night. Everything else was fine that day until the fries. There was...
  7. Back to College Years later, yes it took years to get my brain back on track and cleared up from all that nasty chemo, it was back to art college! I will happily pay off these loans (all $64,000 worth) because I didn't come this far to be unhappy about my future as an artist! Granted I was still an imperfect person (in my mind), I still didn...
  8. What Kind Of Doses? Off to Rituxin and chemo we go. Mom and I zipped up to Seattle where the Cancer Care Center was. First thing we did was get a cheap motel because it's a two day process for the Rituxin and chemo session. Filled out surveys and realized that the cancer my family has had was hitting an all time low by showing up this early in a twenty...
  9. My Blogs are of my past experiences, they are not current. Minus the celiac disease, that is obviously current.

  10. /celiac-disease/forbidden-gluten-food-list-unsafe-ingredients-r182/ 3) The problem with caramel color is it may or may not contain gluten depending on how it is manufactured. In the USA caramel color must conform with the FDA standard of identity from 21CFR CH.1. This statute says: the color additive caramel is the dark-brown liquid or solid material...
  11. I've had similar thirst and frequent urinating too but I was informed by a doc that it could be gestational diabetes so I need to cool it on the sugars, I'm pregnant so water is huge during this time (needed for baby's growth and flushing out toxins), and being pregnant will cause one to urinate alot anyway. There is pressure on the bladder now more than...
  12. Fewww...I am getting ROUND lol This round belly is so pushing up on all my guts that my bra width has gone up two inches! ;P So that's how my mom got a barrel chest.
  13. Thank you this is a good idea, I appreciate the help.
  14. My personal blog is not current, it is of the past, I am not on chemo right now.
  15. You may be a celiac when...you have to recite the celiac information in your head that you'll be telling people for the rest of your life, and your getting good.
  16. When I first got off gluten I had hormone imbalances and had to have my hormones balanced by a naturopath. That made my head more balanced. Also, evern when I was preparing my own gluten free foods, I was still adding things that were not safe. Double check you aren't buying things from the bulk aisle, using spices that have any fillers or what-not, and are...
  17. Yhea my fiance and I filled out the AHCCCS but we have to "wait" for an appointment, so we're waiting. And waiting. lol I'm almost 3 months now. Alrighty...we gonna make it!
  18. Title pretty much sums it up. I got celiac pretty bad, am pregnant, and need someone who knows what they are doing to check for the right things for this baby. I could go to the AHCCCS which is reduced health care, but those people probably will have no clue what celiac is. I may need a naturopath, I'm on a very strict diet and certain vitamins I can...
  19. The Quick New Plan So in Spokane at the doc's office, mom and I were informed that surgery would be the only option for something that was cutting my time short. The tumor was non-hodgkins lyphoma, 4.5x5 inches. Bob was gonna be lifted out (pffft by helicopter) by opening my chest, that's aka chainsaw to the chest method. Barbaric! I think I prayed my hardest...
  20. My celiac is way out of control, cross contamination is my biggest threat at all times during the day. When I wake up in the morning I have to wash my mouth and face before eating or I can have a reaction. Things are beyond my patientce but I am not willing to go on chemicals or drugs to suppress my immune system. I was wondering if there was a natural way...
  21. Well the pregnancy test said I was still prego, but I've had three gluten episodes in a row since my fiancee brought oatmeal into the house. My belly has been way swollen and painful. I'd like to feel better. But first someone is getting a talking to. lol Oatmeal that isn't steal rolled is never allowed in the house. Too much dust. So unfortunatly I don...
  22. So I had posted a reply about L-glutamine. But looks like that was erased by the website wardens. But L glutamine is a supplement perscribed by my doctor. It's not to be taken while pregnant, I had a bad reaction. I'll try and "keep it simple" for the wardens.
  23. So I've been prego before, only for a few weeks. This time I'm a month in. But...I took one of my L-glutamine pills to help heal my intestines and had a bad reaction. I had avoided taking them for a few days but tried one today and this is what happened: hot/cold flashes nausea dizziness sweats fainted migraine freezing cold hand...
  24. The Gluten Free Restauraunt Guide" book Sounds like he may have to be shocked into the importance of your health and the causes of gluten and diabetes to your body like with a documentary film of a gluten intolerant's reactions. Not sure if a documentary like that exists but it would be shocking. He may never understand until he gets his own...
