  1. Maybe in moderation, but I'm talking we eat it twice a week or so. Red meat, as I understand it, is bad for your heart and cholesterol levels.
  2. This will sound kind of messed up, but I kind of enjoyed mine. At least the drugs made me feel really relaxed afterwards. I don't remember very much after they started hooking me up. So, don't worry about it. Schedule it for the morning and the fasting won't be as bad, because you're asleep for most of it. I scheduled mine for the afternoon and suffered...
  3. Yay, Pepsi! I guess I'll stick to them as much as possible just to be sure. Of course, I should stop drinking pop all together.
  4. (caveman voice) Hmmm, fire, me cook dead animal on it! Yes, we have one and my husband cooks on it. I don't know that I would say he really likes to though. We cook steak on it, so that's not exactly healthy anyway. We need to come up with something else.
  5. I've had this happen to me too, so I went and looked up costochondritis and found this page with all these links to articles. Interesting. Open Original Shared Link
  6. Does anybody know of any soda that is not gluten free? Just for future reference. Thanks!
  7. Me too! I've started eating a Baby Ruth or M&Ms everyday. I didn't use to eat that much candy. But since now I can't have my favorite ham sandwich or beef burrito, yummy, I'm making up for it with chocolate! I think there's probably a lot less calories in the candy though. That sandwich and burrito where huge!
  8. Last time I was checked my bad cholesterol was high and my good cholesterol was too low. I'm pretty sure this is just because of bad diet choices and not exercising though. I know, I'm bad. I'm trying to change though!
  9. Okay, maybe I do know a little more now than when I started. But I'm still a pretty sad cook. My husband actually agreed last night that we should start cooking together. Let's see how long that lasts!
  10. Yes, I've thought about doing that. I was raised in a very strict religious home and taught to think sex was bad, so I think I have issues there. My sister also has these problems, I think she may have something similar to you because it's the same thing where it's very painful.
  11. Oops! They are in a lot more places than just WA. I went to their website. They are in: Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Alaska, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Hawaii. It is also called Stuart Anderson's. Of course, not everybody may have the same good experience I did.
  12. Yes, I should have thought about calling ahead because I've done that before and it worked really well. I spoke to the manager and she hadn't heard of celiac disease, so I explained it and asked ?s about how they cooked things. She then advised me on what I should ask to be left off like seasonings and such and which menu items wouldn't work. I asked if I...
  13. Ask to speak to the manager?

  15. Nobody was a cook in my family. That's why I have no clue what I'm doing!
  16. I have this same problem. Never, ever want to have sex. The way I feel right now, I could go the rest of my life without it and be just fine. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't feel the same way!
  17. Sorry...more husband bashing. But he knows that I do it, so it's okay. The few times my husband has done the dishes he loads the dishwasher so terribly that hardly any of the dishes actually come clean! I don't mind doing the dishes at all, I just wish he would help with the cooking because I hate that part! My husband does cook on the BBQ, but...
  18. Mcalistrom - You are very lucky! I wish my husband would help, he even refuses to do the dishes if I cook. Last night I attempted to make salmon with rice and the salmon came out too dry and I couldn't find the manual for the rice cooker, so I didn't put in enough water and the rice wasn't fluffy. My husband said, maybe I should start cooking. And...
  19. I've wondered about this also. I also am on the bone marrow donor list and I've wondered about that. They say you shouldn't give bone marrow if you have lupus and they don't know for sure if I do or not. Maybe I should call them about the lupus at least and then mention celiac disease.
  20. I'm sorry people! I way overreacted to this. I easily misread people's intentions and now realize that things were not intended the way I read them. I'm sorry and I'm moving on now. Jen - your story about your friend is funny. I went over to my best friend's house this past weekend for the first time since going gluten-free and she was going to make...
  21. I just wanted to come in here yesterday and post my complaint because I feel like here is the only place where people will get it. I wasn't saying my disease is the worst in the world. I understand that some people have it worse off. But when somebody has a family member die do you say "well, it could have been worse, your whole family could have died." Or...
  22. Thanks for getting it, Shirley. This is the first time I've thought about quitting this board because I thought I could come in here and post my silly complaints. At first everybody was being nice about it, but then you all made me feel crappier.
  23. That's why I wanted to post this on here. I knew you guys would totally understand me. My family and husband know that it's hard, but they don't really know! Because they haven't had to experience it. My problem about packing good stuff is that I'm still getting used to just cooking in general. We never cooked before and I'm not that good at coming...
  24. I want to complain to people who understand about how much this disease sucks. Just when I think I'm getting used to all the ways my life is going to change I find out something else that I'm no longer going to be able to enjoy. We went to a music festival this weekend where they have a bunch of food booths and I had to pack a lame pb&j sandwich while...
  25. When I started on this diet and told people I know that I didn't like any of the foods, somebody at work said it takes a few times of eating something new to really start to get used to it. I've found that to be true. I eat Ener-G Tapioca Loaf bread. I wouldn't use it for regular sandwiches like with meat and lettuce. But it's good to toast it and use it...
