  1. Ugh I know what you mean about the mind part. You feel fine for a bit then you're forgetting everything and your emotions are all over the place. After this weekend with all the sleeping/insomnia I fell like my brain is dehydrated. Upping my dose seems to be helping. After my brain rehydrates I feel that I'll feel better. I can't wait to get some energy so...
  2. I hate modern doctors that just don't listen :/ That sucks about your grandma. If she's been on this med this long and knows and understands it they should respect that and let her keep taking it. Yeah 30mg is low but I've been off levo for about 2 months so it's probably a good thing that he started me there. I felt a little better today after taking...
  3. I've been taking 30mg of Thyroid which is lower than what I was taking with the levo. I believe it's equivalent to 50mcg of levo? I was taking 75mcg and even then with my last blood test my TSH had started creeping up again. I know I need to take this slowly but it's not easy I'm so tired of having no energy and sleeping a lot. Even my husband has noticed...
  4. No I never got a colonoscopy. I went to a gastro and he told me to take probiotics, konsol, colace and miralax. He said if I needed it to take a senna once a week. I said ok and asked will I have to keep taking all of this? He just said yes and that was it. No tests or anything. It worked for a few weeks then stopped. He also told me to drink a lot of water...
  5. I'm df also. It just sucks that my body seems to punish me for the smallest things I need to call my dr and have him increase my thyroid medication. The past 2 days I've been sleeping till 3-4 in the afternoon I just hope he does it without me having to go in cause I can't call in anymore for a while.
  6. I believe my family could benefit from going gluten free also. Two of them have pretty much told me I'm not giving up my food. Not only are gluten containing foods bad (for obvious reasons) but as I'm sure you know they are highly addictive and that makes it incredibly hard to stop eating them. I've been gluten-free for almost a year and I still find myself...
  7. I have tried all these other methods and they did not help. I truly believe when something isn't working in your body there is a reason. Do you really want to be taking all these meds possibly for the rest of your life? I didn't! And when people told me to drink a bunch of water it irritated me to no end. You try feeling like you have a ton of cement in your...
  8. I know I shouldn't have stopped my meds but I was so unbelievably frustrated I started compounded thyroid about 3 weeks ago. Some days I feel pretty good (not necessarily as good as I think I should feel) and others I feel like this is never going to end The wellness dr did not test my thyroid. I showed him results from past drs and actually got my gp to...
  9. Unfortunately it's a blood test. I hate needles! Lol You can ask your dr to test it. There are others on here who know more about what tests to ask for and what they mean. Hopefully some of them will chime in
  10. You may want to get your thyroid checked. I know what you are going through. It's not fun I went to a dr that has been helping me through diet and supplements. I just started back on thyroid meds. The diet and supplements have helped a lot. The dr said after I get my thyroid meds where they should be it should help with the c so I won't need the supplements...
  11. I know I just need to be patient. I've only been on it for 2 weeks and it's a low dose. I've just felt like crap for so long I just want to be well already Thank you for always responding to my posts. You're a smart (gluten free) cookie
  12. Yeah after my detox diet I tried adding soy (gluten free soy sauce) and didn't feel too good so I think soy is gonna have to go anyway. Luckily I found a soy free and gluten free soy sauce I guess I'm going to have to learn to like nori for sushi. The soy wraps were so good but oh well I'm on 30mg. I just hope the dr works with me on the way I feel instead...
  13. Do you feel like you have more energy? How long would you say it took you to find the right dose? Sorry for all the questions! I'm just ready to feel normal already I've been sleeping later again and I don't want to slip back into that. I actually get stuff done now and when I sleep late I'm having to rush to get things done and I feel like my day is shot...
  14. How long does it take for the weight loss to show on the scale? I don't want to eat more but I get so hungry! Lol When do you take yours and how much are you on?
  15. You might have another intolerance of maybe you're getting glutened somehow. I always thought feeling stuffed and bloated after meals was normal. Now that I've been eating differently I just feel normal Not stuffed not bloated just not hungry anymore. Maybe try an elimination diet.
  16. Ok I've been gluten-free for almost a year and df almost that long also. Found out I'm also hypothyroid. Started levo didn't really feel much better. Went to a dr to talk about adding t3. She ran tests and even though my TSH had started creeping up just because it was in normal range she just called it a day. So I stooped taking the levo. (I know, I know...
  17. This new dr is going to have me fast to detox and reset things. Then it looks like I'm starting an elimination type diet. So if there are any other food allergies I guess I'll find out. Really thinking the insomnia (very recent) maybe stress cos after getting the results from the dr and having her pretty much just say normal I had a breakdown. I'm tired of...
  18. The range was 140<. I haven't taken my levo for the past few days. I met with a dr that runs a program like the one from the author of Why Do I Still Have Thyorid Symptoms? When My Labs Are Normal. He knows I haven't taken it. He said its not good but I'll be fine. He's having me do a saliva test and plans to put me on Armour. I don't really want to take...
  19. Could be your thyroid. I have a lot of the same symptoms. Just because THEY say your TSH is normal doesn't mean squat to me anymore. Most drs aren't even looking at the new levels that have been set. What was your TSH?
  20. You sure you're ok with dairy? Maybe that's it? Hope you feel better!
  21. I believe I'm taking the Mylan brand. The past few days I've only been taking my levo every other day cos I thought for sure she would change it and I only had a few pills left. So I went to my new drs office to pick up my results. TSI- 68 TSH- 2.0 FT4-1.41 FT3- 2.6 (range 2.3-4.2) Thyroid Perioxidase AB- <10 Thyroglobulin AB <20 Ok...
  22. Crazy huh! If people are looking for a cheese substitue it's probably because oh I dont know THEY CANT HAVE MILK?!? lol Try Daiya cheese. It's soy, gluten and dairy free! And get this...it actually melts! Lol I tried a tofu cheese once. I used it on something I cooked in the oven and the stuff didn't melt. You could have taken a blow torch to it and it would...
  23. I'll post the results tomorrow as soon as I get them. When I asked her if she'd prescribe be t3 if I needed it she said yes but then pretty much told me in a nice way that she's not going to risk her job prescribing it to me just cos I want it or think I need it. Or just because of maybe things people say online. They must threaten these drs if they prescribe...
  24. I've been gluten free for about seven months. Towards the end of last year I found out I was hypothyroid and had a nodule. The nodule tested negative. I've been on 75mcg of levo for the past few months. Two of my main complaints that led to going gluten free was fatigue and c. When I first went gluten free within about 6 weeks they seemed to be improving...
  25. I'm sorry you're having migraines Those are not fun. Especially when you take something and it doesn't even help. Eating should not have to be this difficult lol What kind of stuff do you eat with the failsafe diet?
