ARCHIVED Severe Mental Symptoms
VydorScope replied to Magdeliscious's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I do not know that I would call a 115 pluse all that high for exercise. Most medical sources that I know of call 120 as a bare min for cardovascular work out. A sustianed pluse of at least 120 for at least 20 mins is the standard I was taught back when I was the kind of guy that was in to exercise and being healthy. Short bursts are not any help. Again... -

I think your getting the ppl your replying ot mixed up, but I appreacite teh advice But on th topic of a breadmachine... My bread machine cost about 60$ at target. ARCHIVED Cereal Anyone?
VydorScope replied to relkins's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
ANY bread recipe can be made with out a machine, infact most have to be adapted to use the machine, not the other way around. The machine just kneeds an mixes the stuff for you, and of course bakes it. Get any decent gluten-free cookbook (or heck search this site theres some here) and there will be plenty of different breads you can make. Theres no magic... -
Absolutly reasonable. In fact no matter WHAT is wrong with you, a healthy blanced diet is a good move. I would suggest you get to work on your diet, go ahead and get it gluten-free, all those grains you will be cutting out are not that healthy to begin with. Go to the doctors, talk to them, ask questions, etc, but get your diet uncontrol ASAP. Mark your...

Some info for you... Platelets are irregularly-shaped, colorless bodies that are present in blood. Their sticky surface lets them, along with other substances, form clots to stop bleeding. When bleeding from a wound suddenly occurs, the platelets gather at the wound and attempt to block the blood flow. The mineral calcium, vitamin K, and a protein called...

Ann dont panic! I been to a hemotogist and thres nothing to be scared of. Sit down now, while your home and comfortable and write up a list of questions to ask the doc when you get there. Bring that list with you so you dont forget anything, and you can be more organized. This also gives you a place to write answers down to review later. Do the same when...

ARCHIVED Which Tends To Be Cheaper?
VydorScope replied to VydorScope's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I compared the price of the 5lb bags at the mona link given, against the price at my local Kroger and Wildoats... cheaper for me to by it locally even with my 9.25% sales tax (soon to go up to 9.75!!!). Any one know a cheaper place? -
My wife cant eat nuts, even a trace amount will send her in to anflicted (SP????) shock, and literly could kill her. It just came up durring conversations on where to go on a date/etc. Did not phase me me at all, which since we have been married 9 years now should be odvious. Had I know I was celiac disease at the time, she would not have cared. Nobody...

ARCHIVED I Want To Complain!
VydorScope replied to mytummyhurts's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Its not the meat that does that its the sugars in the other foods you eat. Besides most of the fat is incinerated on a gril. If you ate ONLY meat, you would lose weight very quickly, of course you would prbly die from malnutrition because you do need a bit more of a balanced diet. Its just comon "old-wisetale" wisdom has the balance to far from meat (well... -

One thing we did with camp fires that would work fine on a girl with real fire (not that crapy electric ones!) is take the meat of your choice, a good varity of veggies, butter, and some random seasonings, wrap them all up in tin foil and toss right in the fire! YUMMY! -
ARCHIVED A Little Scared
VydorScope replied to jknnej's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yea, I forgot to mention, you have NO PAIN SENSORS in your intestine where they will be taking the biospys from, so you will not feel that. I slept for several hours after the procedure... hehe. -
ARCHIVED A Little Scared
VydorScope replied to jknnej's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have had two, and my stories are identical to those above.. . sore throat after the second one. BIG BIG IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you bring someone that you trust to talk to the doctor after the procedure and tell them to take notes. It is very likely you will not remeber talking to the doctor AT ALL. So you need some one there to ask all the questions... -

Just about anything in excess is bad for you... but 2 severings of redmeat a week is not excess! Steak, and meat in general, is very healthly. For example redmeat is your best source of iron, much better then the iron you get from plant products. I could go on and on about the healthy side of meat... just dont pour molasses on it or somthign like that ... -

You never will, your not ment to, your not a man. Men say the same kinds of things about alot of the things most woman like, but the difference is men are okay with it. Men say "As long as we do x, y and z, she is happy" and most times dont care why, bearly give it any thought. Woman spend long converstions and time on the "why". Spend hours on the phone... -
ARCHIVED Cereal Anyone?
VydorScope replied to relkins's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Two more suggestions... I get a cereal called Puffin's Honey Rice and its gluten-free. They have a gluten-free cornflakes too. Not all thier products are gluten-free, but the ones that are are cearly labled "Gluten Free" on the fron of the box. Becarefull where you buy it though, at Kroger it was 4.69 a box, at health food store called Wild Oats it was... -
