  1. I have had Walgreens and CVS both make calls for me in the past. That is why I think it is more of a specific location issue rather then a chain issue.
  2. Third is low blood sugar. I have that kind reaction when I start to dip to a dangerously low level. I also lose the ability to speak, and thinking becomes harder.
  3. Not long ago I was on some medication that made me loose a ton (talking over 10-20 a week) of weight in a very short period of time. At that time I drank the adult equiv of pediasure (Ultra Boost) and it was a quick bandaid until we could adjust things in my life to balance with that medication. I was only doing that for a couple weeks. So I can see that...
  4. Thanks Jestgar. I was talking about it with my wife earlier and kind of thinking that with the superhealing powers of very young children maybe he healed up enough, and his exposure was low enough (he is mainly a carnivore LOL) that it took all this time to build up again? Who knows? Much of how our bodies work is still a mystery to us. For those...
  5. Well right now he has symptoms, and he wants them to go away. So that is a great motivator. Also if the problem turns out to be gluten there is hope that a lot of the other foods will open back up. His favorite food is Milkshakes, and we have him off all dairy right now. So I think he is probably pulling for gluten to be the only issue. He is very smart...
  6. I appreciate both of you, thank you for taking the time to be civil about something you both have great reason to be passionate/angry about. I just got back from a trip to the store. $250 later we have new pots/serving spoons/etc. Slowly working through re-gluten-free'ing our house.
  7. It seems the general opinion of this thread is that he has had celiac disease all along it just went dormant/silent/something for a while?
  8. I fully understand that. Your passion was apparent in your post, and very understandable. I would actually be happier to deal with just avoiding gluten again then the whole list of things that he tested for on the scratch test. Esply soy. Its flippin everywhere. At least my Kroger as a gluten-free section now. It pretty amazing to see how much the...
  9. BrittLoves2Run, I would encourage you to go down to walmart/cvs/walgreens/etc and pick up an A1C test. They are like $10-$20 and private. Take it and see what the result comes back. I would also suggest you pick up a glucose meter of your own. A store rand one is around $15 and they come with some test strips. Often with mail in rebates you get the meter...
  10. The one point here that I need to clarify is that he had been on gluten for over a year and we retested again, it was still negative. It has been almost 5 years since he has had symptoms at all. So it is not the same as going gluten-free for a while, then eating a little gluten and retesting. If it is celiac disease, then I have to assume it can go dormant...
  11. I have had similar issues with CVS, but I think it is a location by location thing and not so much an issue with the chain. The Walgreens here in town has always been great to us, but our insurance company no longer covers them so we can not use them.
  12. I have a college student membership, so not only do I pay $35, but they give me a $10 gift card when I renew. If you are connected to any groups, or organizations in your area it is worth looking into.
  13. HI! Surprised anyone remembers me but thanks! CyberProf, If that is true why did multiple blood tests over the years of being on gluten come back negative? We did not mention it to his current allergy doc, but we did have him checked a couple years back by a GI doc and the test was negative at that time too. It is a bit scary reading the...
  14. First, I wonder how many are still here that know me? I looked through my history and it has been five years since I last posted. So much has happened since then... First to save typing time here is my last post: The very short version, was my son Timothy was very sick, then tested positive for Celiac, then put on gluten-free diet, got better...
  15. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  16. Saw the new pedi-doc. Well sometimes things just work out for the best (heh, I say that like I believe in coincidence... LOL funny stuff). This is our second meeting with this doc, and I was not impressed the first time. Wanted to try him again, just to be fair but it became fairly apparent he did not know much about celiac disease, or food allergies (the...
  17. To be honest I almost did not post because of this. I am throughly convinced celiac disease is real, and those that have it need to stay gluten-free for life. Please do not see my sons case as typical.
  18. No. After 57.9 million tests, 5 trillion gallons of blood drawn, and things stuck in places that should not have things stuck in them it turns out I am just a very brittle hypoglycemic. Treating that with a high healthy fat (60% of calories), hight protein (20-30%) , moderate carb (10-20%) diet has finally got me well. And before you ask it was the reading...
  19. Missed one more that says 50 with normal being 25-154. All I can read on that one is "quantitative blo"
  20. Got the blood test results! (got them faxed to my work) These numbers are WAY better then I expected.. LOOK! (hard to read some of the labeling, so guessing a bit...) Gladdin IGG ABS 0 (<20 normal) Gladdin IGA ABS 0 (<20 normal) Endomysial TGA 0.2 (<7 normal) Tissue Transgulaminase Antibody 0 (<7 normal) And then 2 more that...
  21. I have heard the same but it was always, at least what I heard, as children crossed in to adolecence. Tim is a bit young for that.
  22. First a refresher... My son spent from his birth (8/13/2003) though early May 2005 extremely ill. Distended tummy, spitting up blood, 7+ bouts of highly acidic diahrea a day, spent his nights writhing in inconsolable pain and after a while I even had to set his car seat SMALLER as he lost ground. Mental development was in regression. I could go on,...
