  1. I have head some, and with regard to food issues it has all been negative, and that includes NAET. It is like anything else there is some good from that field, and some quackery.
  2. There is a lot of confusion in this thread But in the end, if you eat gluten and get sick AND you abstain from gluten and get better that means you have an issue with gluten of some kind and you should avoid gluten. All testing (of any kind) will do is put a label on what kind of issue (allergy, celiac, etc) and different tests (blood, skin, stool...
  3. Food Allergy testing is a different thing all together. We took my son to an allergy doc for that and I would recommend you do that if you think you might still have undiscovered issues. Your original post mentioned nothing of food allergies so I did not pick up on that is what you were after. It sounded like you were looking for a Celiac test which is distinctly...
  4. Intersting... does not look like it is sold in America though... anyone know how accurate it is?
  5. Tinkyada is the best gluten-free pasta we have found. Our son does not like sauce on them, just his dairy/soy free "butter." He even likes the colored one that has a small amount of veggie mixed into the pasta (shhhh! Don't tell him! LOL)
  6. Seeing a dietician for help with making a healthy gluten free diet makes sense, but a dietician can not give you an official diagnoses. Really though ... why do you care? You state that if you eat gluten you have a harsh reaction. So the logical course of action is to not eat gluten. Would any test of any kind change that? No matter what test you take...
  7. We all get frustrated and rant. This is our kids we are talking about after all, so no worries there. What your son's nurse said do to is a good idea for the most part, but not sure about "dairy light"? I would personally treat it as all or nothing. Not suggesting you ignore your doctor, but if it was me I would question them on why "light" verse no milk...
  8. Joking aside, I love to bake... BUT I do not think could make this since we are an egg free family.
  9. I could help by swapping the the tiramisu you make with the one from olive garden....
  10. Oh, now that I am diabetic and my son needs be gluten free we really umm well have no reason to go back there. Only time I have been there in the last say 5 years was for 2 work related lunch meetings. Got sick both times. Yay! Okay, so I can head over to Walmart and find some in the freezer section right?
  11. :o :o OH!!! Sorry about getting your child's gender wrong. :( Have you seen any change on the diet?
  12. Wow... the only tiramisu I have had is whatever they serve at Olive Garden by that name... and was not very impressed. Certainly not enough to take off my pants and hop in a van... The way y'all are talking though, wonder if I missed something....
  13. What Sesara is very true, but faced with the same decision my wife and I decided it was not worth the risk (endoscope is safe, but there are risks to it) and we are going forward knowing he has it regardless of any label from the doctor. You already know he has Celiac from the blood test, so the endo will give you no new information, just a label (assuming...
  14. I tend to agree. You might have gotten lucky this time. I'll put it this way, if I was there with my son, I would not let him eat from someone else's colander.
  15. So day 4 in the bank. Claims his stomach is not bothering him and when I asked about acid reflux he said "just a little bit, not even enough to count" so I guess that is good? The only thing is he is exhausted. So maybe that will just take longer to clear up?
  16. Thanks I needed that today!
  17. Llfrost, My suggestion. Go gluten free for a while. See if he gets better. If so, then you have your answer. The tests are not perfect. Your son obviously is reacting to something and it seems like it could be wheat. So eliminate it and see how things go. That really is your best course of action at this point.
  18. Yes. This too. The meetings is the key thing, IMO.
  19. My suggestion is that you first is remove ALL dairy of any kind. Then once your symptoms are gone add back in just casein and see how that goes for a few weeks. If your fine with that, then add lactose. If not remove casein from diet and wait till symptoms are gone before trying lactose (which I am not even sure you can have lactose and not casein in a product...
  20. So, if I understand right you have gone 2-3 months gluten-free, then tried milk and had a problem with the milk. My suggestion is that you wait another 2-3 months and try again. Assuming you do not have a problem with milk, you still will need your gut to heal before it can handle it. Depending how bad you were, and how quickly you normally heal that could...
  21. Almond is out, so is soy but we already have So Delicious Coconut Milk, So Delicious Coconut Yogurt, So Delicious Coconut Ice Cream. Can you tell we like the So Delicious Company?
  22. I am sorry if you said this already, but have you tired the gluten-free diet with him yet? I know you are in the middle of testing, so if you plan to do more tests you should wait on the gluten-free diet, otherwise that will give you the best information at this stage. If you take gluten out of his diet and he gets better, then you know to keep him gluten...
  23. Ive been reading Enterolab posts for the last 30-45 mins on this board alone and found some. I would expect a very high % of positive results since most people will only pay the money and do the test if they have good reason to believe it will be positive. This is not a support of them, just answer to your question. To be clear, I do not know much about their...
  24. As a person that lost 50 pounds, twice, in his life I would suggest that you do not do the online version, but go to the meetings. The thing that sets WW apart from just being another diet is the support and accountability of the meetings. I have not done that program, but I am close to several families that are in the program. The "online" version is just...
  25. Now I am curious, do I look Celiac to you? My avatar is my picture.
