  1. Okay, I personally do not have a problem with gluten, but for my son's sake we prefer to keep our house gluten-free. It makes things much simpler on everyone. I do how ever have a problem with blood sugar spikes and dips. Its nothing for me to swing from 200 to 30 in a 4 hour period. I am just that good! (LOL) Up til this current gluten-free effort I have...
  2. Wow... there is a story here somewhere I am missing out on!
  3. I guess anything is possible? Maybe we just have to ignore this week and start over next week (well still keep him off things)
  4. So we are in the middle of the elimination diet and have to rush 500 miles from home, driving overnight last Sunday for a funeral. So anyways, we think we are making progress with eliminating foods (see sig) and Timothy (our son) seems to be getting better, but BOOM middle of this week symptoms return. Fatigue, GI issues, etc. Using paper plates, actually...
  5. Well, I would chat with your doc about the scope, you may or may not want to do it. The key thing is if you want to do it, you need to do it now, before you go gluten free. Once you start the diet the scope will be less and less likely to yield a positive dx. But as the others said, regardless of a scope, with those numbers you need to go gluten free...
  6. Our son did too. The doc's warned us ahead of time that it was normal and that it would pass, which it did.
  7. What is octocrylene? All I know for sure is it is in some sunscreens, a lot of them, and give Timothy a rash, a pretty bad one at that.
  8. Do you know of a respectable one I could order from?
  9. YES! I knew that was you! You look just like you type.
  10. Oh,m I assume it is true for you, just not me. I miss foods that make me sick. No joke. I really have a problem I know! Oh... esply sugary stuff... wow, I could binge RIGHT NOW on [insert any bad food here], knowing that I will be puking within 2 hours if I am lucky, potentially in the hospital is more realistic. Back on topic...
  11. Heh, I wish this one was true! ANY food I have to drop, I miss AND crave LOL. But I love to eat... be my downfall one day for sure.
  12.  I think I will report you!
  13. hehehe Well, yes and no. I did go gluten-free more of "it is simpler to make whole family gluten-free then just the kid" the first time around, and we will be doing that again this round once we finish eating up the gluten. I have had all the Celiac (blood and scope) tests, and failed them all. I really should have study more I guess? If its...
  14. Yea you want to be eating a protein heavy stuff ahead of your work out and avoid simple carbs for a bit after it. Carbs are great when you need a quick energy hit, but the fail fast often leaving you more tired then before. You may want to stick to say 2-3 days a week until you get your energy levels are up. Personally I find the pain and the fatigue comes...
  15. Which is one reason I have a flash blocker
  16. It might be better to just label all the food in your place for them. Keep it simple like "Good" and "Bad." Then they just look at the label you put on the package and know. It means you have to intercept everything that comes in the kitchen, but it might be the best way in this case. If nothing else as a stop gap till they are better educated.
  17. Yes, this is exactly what I was getting at when I said do not push to hard. Thanks for further explaining that. You have to push a little to make any progress, but it should be slow and steady. Took me over a decade. Considering my iron count was ZERO (not joking) when I started, you can have an indication how far I had to go.
  18. Probably a false positive, they happen all the time. Can you contact Norton and report it?
  19. So today Tim is saying he is better again. Other then the place mate thing the one thing I have to suspect is the pasta. It is "Tinkyada Vegetable Spirals" which he has had twice and both times complained of stomach pains/etc after. Might be coincidence, i know they are a very well respected company on this forum, but it is a common factor here. It was cooked...
  20. Yeah some how in all the classes we were in that talked about child care before my son was born they seemed to somehow skip the sections on this stuff. Also it really would have been good to mention that stomach acid puked on to your shirt will bleach it out. Real surival skills, IMO.
  21. Dani, How long have you been exercising now, and how sedimentary were you before it? Your muscles SHOULD hurt some, and you SHOULD get tired if you are pushing yourself. Gosh, I remember when I turned my life around with exercise... a 15 FOOT jog would have me stopping to catch my breath, and to compare... in November I will be getting my black belt in...
  22. Yes. The only issues ever confirmed by testing (poor kid has had tons, both blood and scopes) was acid reflux and celiac disease. All of that was done in the first round when he was extremely sick. Nothing like caring your child home from the hospital as he pukes barium on you btw. You should try it! Stuff memories are made of I guess
  23. He dumped his gluten-free gummies out on to a place mat and it was not till he was already eating that I realized he was using one we had not gotten to in our degluten the house project quite yet. I do not know if it had gluten on it, but it is possible.
  24. Most likely not. It is only a small one time thing. I am no doctor, but I think it will not be an issue a month from now. You should still see improvement.
