  1. I guess you would say the withdrawals have started. Cravings really bad cravings... Just want gluten. Thinking its probably not celiacs and the blood tests were wrong. Silly me. I just want a sandwich from subway or a cheeseburger (with the bun) from McDs. Thinking of all my favorite foods and realizing everyday that there's another one I can't eat ever again...
  2. I will just say this: get a new therapist. Your child is severly depressed. He sounds so anxious and depressed it breaks my heart. Celiacs Disease is not a death sentence, espiecally since he is so young. I am 17 and found out about 2 weeks ago. Do not have a therapist pump him full of meds. He needs to talk and calm down. Really calm down. Keep him off gluten...
  3. Thats pretty tricky. I'm sorry you have to go through that. My mother is very understanding and the more I tell her (no cross contaminination from colandors, wood spoons, etc.) the more she changes. So when I told her about colanders she went "Oh, really? I never thought that would matter much" and then the next day she is telling her friends that we need...
  4. I'm 17 and pretty normal compared to the other girls I guess. Maybe a little on the small side of a B. I love it. I am starting to lose weight since my diagnosis a week and a half ago. Hopefully my girls will go down. It's really funny to here a girl the same age as me wanting bigger breasts. The smaller the better in my opinion. Less need for a bra and I...
  5. Before being diagnosed about 2 weeks ago I would sell my soul for Pizza Hut Supreme Pan Pizza. I love it so much. SO MUCH. I was wondering if you guys had any recipes for really good pan pizza crust or pizza sauce. I heard you have to drown gluten free pizza crust in sauce because it all gets absorbed. I love pizza so much. How do I get that oily and greasy...
  6. Hey again. For about 3 years I have gotten "lesions" or bumps at the corners of my eye and up on the sides of my nose. This is "normal" for me. I have both of them back since I have started gluten free. One is very itchy and both my eyes burn and itch and water non-stop. Now this symptom is new: The insides of my eyelids are white and the corners of my...
  7. I know that the body lotion I use: Lubriderm has gluten in it. Almost all shampoos have gluten in it including mine. Eventually I will eliminate this from my life but for now I am just trying to eliminate all gluten foods. If you eat out a lot that could be a cause for gluten in the diet. Or if you live with gluten eating people. Its tricky. Right now I have...
  8. Salt Lake CIty is about an hour and 15 min. away from us. We go once or twice a year and a visit always includes going to the old spagetti factory. I am glad to here they have gluten free! Never been to the pancake house but will have to try it! Thanks for the input. If I remember West Valley City is about 2 1/2 hours from here. Went there on a field trip...
  9. I read somewhere that Lay's Stax are gluten free too! I will have to grab some. I love Wingers. We had one right by us in North Ogden and they sold it to someone else and then it became a dive and now its out of business. But there is one in Brigham City only a 30 minute drive from here. I am excited to try it out! Though my favorite meal is probably not...
  10. Just thought I would update everyone! Been back at school 2 days and my teachers have been so supportive. Now to my grocery trip. I live in Utah and we don't have a lot of things. So I thought we wouldn't have much gluten-free at my normal grocery store. We had an entire isle! I was very suprised. I heard Van's frozen waffles were good and I used to eat eggos...
  11. My mom and I usually shop for groceries together. All of our pans are nonstick so I guess I need new ones? Is it really that big of deal to share pans with gluten food? My family is very dependent on gluten filled foods. Bagels, Poptarts, toast, sandwiches. I have a fairly good amount of support from my mom i would say an 8 on a scale of 1-10. My father is...
  12. This will be my first gluten free thanksgiving. Are you guys saying I can't eat turkey if they have made stuffing in it? And what about the top part of pumpkin pie, I know the crust isn't gluten free but I don't like the crust anyway. Any other heads up I should know about before heading to thanksgiving thinking I can eat certain things?
  13. Hey everyone! I was diagnosed by blood test this week they did an endoscopy to confirm. I am 17 years old and a Junior in highschool. I have missed a lot of school these past few weeks. And a lot more these last 8 or so years. Doctors app. after Doctors app. telling me I am constipated when hours before I was having horrible Direaha (spelling). This is going...
