  1. I saw my doc the other day. She has been away for over a year and so I had to go over everything that has happened in the past 8 months. My worsening chemical allergy and my newly discovered wheat allergy. I told her about what I call my 'face pain' when I have an allergic reaction to wheat. Long story short she thinks it may be Trigeminal Neuralgia and...

    ARCHIVED Pain

    Very nice rambling, thank you.
  3. Last night was baked sole with rice and sauteed zucchini and red pepper. Jujubes for dessert.
  4. I love gnocchi's too. I made stir fry with beef and broccoli, red pepper, baby corn, sprouts and onion on rice noodle.
  5. Tonight was sausage, recipe from here, steamed potatoes and carrots and fresh tomato wedges with ranch dressing.
  6. We had BLT's too, so good.
  7. Soo, funny, loved the booze in the oat milk. Thanks
  8. Thanks for the recipe l2t. I am going to try it as soon as the weather gets cooler. No cooking today. I have a basket of tomatoes that are all ripe so I think I will just cut big fat slices and put Parm, salt, pepper and oil on them. no one seems to be very hungry anyway.
  9. Yuk, hope you feel better soon. Make sure you don't leave the stove on that's what I usually do.
  10. Oh! Just checked the weather for tomorrow and it is going to be 113!! This is Canada, it's supposed to be cold.
  11. I would love to have a zucchini fritter recipe, care to share? Pretty please:) It's a bit cooler today so we are having sirloin burgers on the grill with lots of new fresh tomatoes and pickles and lots of fresh veg. Watermelon for dessert.
  12. Crazy in a heat wave(100 today)but I made a huge pot of Beef stew. Hopefully we can eat off that for a day or so. They are predicting 106 degrees by Sunday.
  13. I am going to try this, it looks good and sounds so easy. Thanks.
  14. I have heard that authentic Poutine has to be made with chicken gravy. I do like it better than beef myself.
  15. I am making Italian sausage with peppers and onions and probably rice and a plate of fresh veggies cut up. Last night after a rain the temp went down and my son and I made Poutine (bad girl) and hotdogs and peaches for dessert.
  16. I love sole and snapper. Apparently when I was a kid I loved Flounder too and whenever we went out for dinner I would have that while the other kids were having their spaghetti or burgers. Another heat wave here so I may not even eat tonight, maybe just fruit.
  17. very interesting, thank you.
  18. Sole with lemon oil and thyme, Basmati rice and a garden salad.
  19. I buy my white rice flour from the Asian market. I was there today and they have a lot of new stuff, even sweet potato starch. I also saw green bean flour, whatever that is. I have never had a problem with cc, I always buy the same brand.
  20. Thanks, I was aware of the difference with potato and that is why I am questioning the other two. I always thought of them as a starch until I saw them labeled flours. What about rice? Is there a starch as well as a flour?

  22. Two blocks from me we have an Asian market. Last time I was in they had Amaranth leaves. They are green with some red coloring. Anyone ever had these? How would you cook them?
  23. Thanks. For arrowroot I am going to assume the same thing. It feels very, very light like a starch.
  24. Is arrowroot flour the same thing as arrowroot starch? And the same question for tapioca?
