  1. I get those same bumps on the sides of my fingers sometimes. Always wondered what they were.
  2. Here's a news report about the deli: Open Original Shared Link If you're going to pay a visit, keep in mind they have deli hours, so they're open 6am-3pm and they're closed on Sundays. They stay open until 7pm on Thursdays for gluten free pick up.
  3. I love their normal wings. I try to order them with no sauce b/c I don't really need sauce, but the server always seems to feel it's sacreligious to do so.
  4. Fritos and Deviled ham... you're welcome!
  5. I eat at Chipotle a lot and I love it, but I have a feeling there is definitely some cross contamination depending on how sensitive you are. Even if you ask them to change gloves they sling those spoons around like crazy when it gets busy. Also, don't get cheese or lettuce because they use their hands for that.
  6. I feel the need to bump this thread. Anyone in or near Fairfield County, CT or Westchester County, NY should take notice. For that matter, anyone within 100 miles of this place should make a trip and load up your car with a bunch of their pre-made flash frozen gluten-free meals. You can also get loaves of their home-made gluten-free bread, but you need...
  7. There is a great new gluten-free deli that just opened in Stamford, CT. They bake their own gluten-free bread and desserts and they sell home-made frozen gluten-free meals. They have normal stuff too, but they have different work stations, different color silverware, etc. And the food tastes great! That Awesome Deli & The Gluten Free Food Factory...
  8. You may be our most distant gluten free outpost. Godspeed

  15. This website is pretty awesome. Where else can I go to complain about eating cottage cheese for lunch? Nowhere else, that's where.
  16. Maybe I'll just move down to DC. Sounds like a nice place.
  17. Just when you think you've nailed down all the sources of cross contamination...wow, it's a continual learning process! Sardines are delicious for people too...very low mercury content! There's nothing like that slimy texture of canned fish to satisfy the discriminating palette. Add a little mustard and it's an automatic party.
  18. Sorry about my cranky welcome Mateto. I was only kidding. Here's a list of some other good gluten-free things to eat besides Chipotle and yogurt: vegetables salad eggs rice bacon sardines spam deviled ham peanut butter chocolate peanut m&m's human babies
  19. Welcome to the magical world of eating nothing but freaking Chipotle and yogurt for weeks on end! It's so fun.

    ARCHIVED Radiolab

It's not about Celiac specifically, but this is a very interesting episode of Radiolab about our GUTS! Worth listening: Open Original Shared Link
  21. I would think there must be some decent gluten-free places to eat in a city like DC...should be a good spot to meet fellow gluten-free people!
  22. Welcome to the club! Enjoy your final days of eating gluten!!! Have a piece of fried chicken for me.
  23. Welcome to the forums everyone! I always wonder what it's like for people living in food-limited places. When there is nothing to eat besides something with gluten, is it better to eat the poison or to starve??? It must be extremely difficult for you to adjust while also trying to cook for your family. Maybe try cooking some...
