ARCHIVED Lupus? Connective Tissue Diseases?
Blue-eyed bandit replied to suziq0805's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Well - hopefully you won't develop full blown lupus especially since ur taking precautions and staying on a gluten-free diet. So I'm guessing whatever blood work my doctor comes up with will be positive since everyone is saying that theirs was after diagnosis with celiac? Then I'll have to go to a rhematoligist? I dunno this is all so confusing... So it's... -

Geez!! I think we have an even more sensitive time too digesting minerals and such so we can overdo it and still not get enough. I HATE palpitations!! -
ARCHIVED Heart Palpitations/ Tachycardia
Blue-eyed bandit replied to peeptoad's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yes that's tricky... I can't imagine taking potassium because I had to after an ER visit for palps and the potassium gave me intense stomach pains as well as more palps even though my bloodwork was normal after 2-3 testings. I stopped it and had much fewer palps. -
ARCHIVED Testing For Lupus And Other Blood Clotting Disorders?

Thank you so much for the reply. I've become so scared it's lupus and I'll have to get a kidney transplant or worse... Its ridiculous but I'm so nervous. I already cover completely - the only body parts I expose are my feet and hands. J have raynoulds disease and my lacy like rash only shows up after a hot shower. I get a sun rash when in the sun too long... -

So lately I've had so much going on and it's just beginning to be too much. So in the past 6 months- benign PVCs/PACs and possible SVT, celiac, ovarian cysts, and now possibly lupus or some other issue. Went to dermatologist because I go yearly for mole/freckle checks and she noticed a lacy looking like rash that's on my ankle and creeps up a bit. It has... -

I think magnesium is perfectly safe as my ER doc and PC told me it was fine to take and helps hold potassium. I too get palpitations and it can be frightening. I never cheat either!! Anyways i would be careful supplementing potassium as too much can cause palpitations as well. Try getting ur potassium from foods like potatoes with skin, oranges, fortified... -
ARCHIVED I'm Having More Problems Now That I've Gone Gluten-Free!
Blue-eyed bandit replied to kimliz59's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I felt horrible when I first got off gluten. Dairy really constipates me so I stay away. Try eating mixed nuts, adding flaxseed that's been ground into ur dishes and drinking even more water! Something that has helped me is water before bed then warm water with lemon in am before any food and then waiting 30 minutes. Could be magnesium deficient. Start taking... -

I still get palps and what the doctors think is svt after going gluten-free. I'm hoping it'll calm down. Mine seem to be hormone related. I'll try b12 - anything is better than palps! -

ARCHIVED Celiac With Low Potassium
Blue-eyed bandit replied to CR5442's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Up your magnesium as it helps you hold onto potassium. Google potassium rich foods. Be careful with low potassium as it causes heart ryhthm disturbances. -

Blue-eyed bandit replied to BCW82048's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I went to an allergist and underwent all the scratches and shots. No fun! But I'm feeling so much better now that I'm off my offending foods. I'm just hoping after my gut heals Ill show up with less allergies once I retest. -

Seriously I wouldn't consider it because all that bovine is pig- plus I read in a great book by a celiac dr. (he has celiac and treats it) from Columbia University that it only takes 1/8 a teaspoon of gluten containing foods or just gluten ( I'm not exactly sure which it is but I know it's 1/8 which is equivalent to a pinch) to cause continual intestinal... -

After reading the china study and preventing and reversing heart disease I have issues eating too much meat. Heart disease runs rampant in my family. I eat an almond butter smoothie as a snack or for breakfast in the AM and it provides fat and calories as well as easily digestible minerals. It's 1 cup each ice and unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 2 very ripe... -

Newly diagnosed celiac with multiple food allergies such as: all grains, pineapple, all nuts except almonds and cashews, corn, garlic, onions, pepper, cinnamon, coffee, tea, cocoa, certain fish and shellfish. I have ALOT of digestive problems obviously and a small hiatal hernia as well as heart palpitations that have decreased since removing allergies- although...

Mushroom- I use cast iron which I have one that's only mine that I hide- sometimes I share the others is that a problem? I use the same sponge, towels, counterspace etc. I guess I have some more things to change. I'm just not sure it's cc since I usually get them during certain times of my cycle. I'm going to try to stay away from nightshades though too because... -

I've been gluten free for awhile on and off but been gluten-free strictly just for a couple weeks since my celiac came back. But I'm still having issues. Maybe it's my cc? My husband and live in fil gluten up the kitchen daily with bread crumbs and I also use the same utensils pots and pans that are stainless steel etc. I'm wondering if I need to cut that...
