  1. I may have to keep a food log, but I eat a lot of the same foods and haven't been able to detect anything. I'm lactose intolerant so I generally avoid dairy or take a supplement. I do also have diverticulosis, and I'm starting to think it may be related to that... I'll have to get more serious with it and see if I can't narrow down a food or something...
  2. Hello! I've been dealing with celiac disease for about eight months now. I find that I still have severe stomach swells. It just comes and goes randomly and doesn't seem related to anything specific. For example, this morning I was getting ready for work and my stomach was so swollen that I could hardly wear my jeans. About five hours later the swelling...
  3. Congrats! That's awesome! :>
  4. I'm going to check that out! Thanks!
  5. Oh my goodness! I just bursted out laughing and my husband turned and gave me that, "God, you're so strange" look.
  6. It's funny, cause little jokes like that make me feel better! I also have always had a tendency to feel more comfortable in the presence of "humor." I got a new job position just as I was going gluten-free and I'm in a completely new building with completely different people now. I've chosen so far to keep my gluten-freeness (I know that's not a real...
  7. Johnny Brusco's has a gluten-free pizza and I want to try it, but I haven't been out in a while... Unfortunately I checked and there are no Red Brick's in my area. I've been really wanting some pizza but the frozen gluten-free ones are so expensive!

    ARCHIVED IHOP

I was curious about IHop. My husband has been wanting to go, but I couldn't find much ingredient information on their website so I was afraid I would just be asking for eggs as plain as I could get them. I am glad to know they put pancake batter in their eggs though...that just seems strange!
  9. I am so glad to see this! I had found a lot of conflicting information so I had contacted Starbucks and was pretty disappointed with the response. I just recieved it today. My e-mail: --- Original Message --- From: Christen Received: 2/25/12 8:41:10 PM MST To: <sbxinfo@buf.sitel.net> Subject: allergens Hello! I adore Starbucks, but I...
  10. I've been gluten-free for almost two weeks. My stomach is better and the abdominal pain is gone, but I have been having horrendous headaches. At work today I nearly tossed off my headset, crawled under my desk, and assumed the fetal position! I spent the whole weekend with my head buried in pillows and blankets over my head... I hope I'll be feeling as good...
  11. I'm Scotch-Irish.
  12. Oh my...I would definitely be giving them a call!
  13. Yay! I'm glad you've decided to go! You'll have to let us know how it goes. :>
  14. I've never been small, but I'm 5'3" and when I was healthier (about 19 years old) I was about 145 pounds. Over the past four years (I'm now 23) I've gained weight continually, regardless of what I tried. In July I hit my all time high of 275 pounds. In August my weight started dropping and hasn't stopped. I've been very ill since then... Now, I'm only one...
  15. I am about to go home and cook some rice, green beans, and cod. My diet has been mostly consisting of rice and fish here lately since it seems to be the only thing my stomach can easily tolerate...
  16. I would totally go! Of course I don't have much of a problem watching other people eat (I mean, I'm sitting in McDonald's, where my husband works, bumming off their WiFi right now and I'm starving!). Have they offered to try finding a restaurant that offers something you can eat? I don't know your preferences, but I'm sure you could do a salad (even if...
  17. Oh goodness! I've been off gluten for one week now and I have experienced a few different things...but mostly just my stomach feeling a little better. I have insomnia already and have to take medication for sleep... I'm not expecting to see any results this soon though... I sure hope that will go away for you!
  18. A week ago I was very ill due to an accidental ingestion of gluten and feeling completely hopeless. I cried and wondered how I was ever going to manage... Now it's been one week and I feel so much better! Not necessarily as far as my symptoms go, but I feel so much better about my condition. I just wanted to share!
  19. I was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease and I have been gluten-free for one week! I can never remember not being depressed and not fantasising about suicide (including a few attempts). I've been medicated since my early teens. I have severe anxiety and have to take additional medications before going anywhere other than work or the grocery store (which is...

This is so interesting! I'm ADD and have experienced the same thing! I've only been gluten-free for one week now so I can't say I've seen any improvement in that... When I went vegan and vegetarian I got SO sick. I thought I wasn't eating right and now getting enough nutrients, but I now find it was because I was taken in a lot more of the gluten-containing...
  21. Oh my goodness...like so many others I'm drawing lots of similarities. I was diagnosed with Celiac on February 6th and I have been gluten free since February 15th! My stomach is feeling better, but that's about it right now... All my life, since I can remember (yes, even at five years old) I have struggled with depression, anxiety, and suicide. I had...
  22. My best friend has Crohn's Disease (which runs in my family, but fortunately I do not have!). I very much agree that Celiacs is much better to deal with! Remove gluten and the damage can heal and you can have a fairly normal life! With Crohn's though, the way I understand it and from my experience, there's not much you can do. You can eat carefully and whatnot...
  23. So I was trying to come up with something for dinner but failed miserably as there is NO food in the house. I pulled out some Cornmeal and I was looking at the ingredient list and thought, "Oh ok, so cornmeal is safe." But then it said "Warning: Contains wheat." But wheat was nowhere in the ingredients... I couldn't make anything with it anyways since it...
  24. Thanks so much! I know a lot of this information is already on the forum boards, so I apologise for repeating! I just finished going through my vitamins and medications and fortunately my Super B-Complex was the only thing not gluten-free. I found this website also, which could be helpful to others: Open Original Shared Link. Fortunately, It's just...
  25. So I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease on February 6th and I am rather overwhelmed right now... My doctor didn't give me a lot of information, just to get on a gluten-free diet. She gave a list of websites and I checked those out, but it just seems like a lot... At first I was super positive and thinking, "Oh ok, just change my diet, no big deal." Now though...
