  1. When you all find that you have been glutened, what foods help you through it? All I can stand is Rice Chex. I seem to be experiencing something. My period is close but I really feel like I have been glutened.
  2. I get nausea in the morning like this when I am hungry. I figure it is that because once I eat breakfast it goes away.
  3. I did when I first started feeling sick. It looks just like tissue floating in the water. Since I went gluten-free, I haven't felt the pain. That makes sense! I was told I had a kidney stone two months ago.
  4. I don't know if anybody else had this, but every now and then I have strands of mucus floating in my urine. I think it started around May 25 or so. Has anyone ever experienced this?
  5. what's this about almond milk and underactive thyroids? Link?

  7. My serious GI symptoms aren't bad, like the heartburn, stomach rumbling, and indigestion stopped first, but sometimes some foods I eat make my insides feel like they are burning still. My anxiety went away and my mood is better. I was pretty health conscious before all this, so I have always kept food diaries. I was looking through some old ones and I can...
  8. Nope, you have every right to be bummed. I know how you feel. You probably felt like you had an answer as to why you felt so bad. When you hear that the test was negative, you are right back where you started.
  9. My mother just showed me her vitiligo. Crazy that she will not get tested.
  10. Thank you. I know I have to be patient. I just hope a year from now, I feel like myself again. My stomach problems are still a work in progress but I am thinking that once the antibodies are out of my system, the rash will be completely gone. So the more it fades, the better the GI stuff will get. Wishful thinking...
  11. I heard that people with underactive thyroids should not drink almond milk. I kind of feel like that started my problems back in February. What other options do I have other than Lactaid which isn't good for me anymore.
  12. My Independence Hy-Vee is pretty good about keeping their belts clean, but it depends on what cashier I go to.
  13. This is kind of amazing to me. No gluten, no soy, and hardly any dairy. http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/rr131/mochanicolatte/IMG_20120530_120938.webp Pretty sure that I am at least NCGI. I get better and better every day. I wanted the diagnosis, but I can live with the physical proof.
  14. Well, I am 31 and I experience muscle and joint pain. I have a hard time going up stairs at times because my knees hurt so bad. I was 30 when that started.
  15. Chia seeds have been very helpful to me. Also, water works miracles. I have tried to drink at least 80 oz of water a day since I read that you should drink half your body weight. 160 - 80 oz of water.
  16. That happened to me two weekends ago. I could not figure out what caused it.
  17. I go back and forth between constipation and regular BMs. Taking iron supplements doesn't help the constipation issue. Should I not drink Lactaid? Some nights I don't feel like eating anything but plain Chex.
  18. Glad to hear that! I hope to feel like that in a month. I am learning that I can't tolerate anything that I ate before. I had GERD issues yesterday. Prior to this sickness, I had not had any issues with GERD since 2008. Can't wait to feel like that again.
  19. Maybe that's my problem. Chocolate Rice Chex have been the love of my life for weeks now. My body is probably rejecting them now. Plain and Cinnamon are good with me though.
  20. Thank you Birdie. I guess I should be patient. It just makes me feel like the doctors are missing something. I still don't have any diagnosis as to what is wrong with me. Right now, I am waiting on the results of a stool sample. Never have I thought, "please let it be a parasite!" Just so they can resolve my issues.
  21. Thanks for the info! It's just strange because I had no problems with GERD since 2008. I experienced the diarrhea and bloating, but the reflux started in February. That was pretty much it. Didn't need to take anything. I guess it's part of aging.
  22. Heartburn and frequent restroom trips today. When this all started, my symptoms were upper abdominal burning/heartburn, indigestion, abdominal discomfort, gurgling noises in abdomen, anxiety, irritation, insomnia, fatigue, hiccups, dark stools, loose stools, constipation, weight loss. I lost 7 lbs because I couldn't eat because I was afraid of the heartburn...
  23. I may be gluten intolerant for sure, but these flare-ups hit me every month when I am about to start my period. I am starting to think that there is something totally different going on. I just don't know what to do anymore. My OB/Gyn told me yesterday that my fibroids aren't giving me my GI problems. Something is and I wish they would figure it out.
  24. I called my primary yesterday to request what I assume would be a food allergy test. Her nurse called me back asking what kind of symptoms I was having to want the allergy test and basically why I wanted it. Is that relevant? I have been sick and I want to know what I can and cannot eat. Prior to getting really sick, I was eating a lot of soy, beans, grains...
  25. I had indigestion Sunday night, neck pain and slight heartburn yesterday, and today I am so exhausted. I still don't know what got me. I have been gluten-free as of two weeks tomorrow. I hope it gets easier.
