  1. [ Get better soon. I find hard boiled eggs and my own homemade wraps (they are in the recipe part) are good to go. I also bring fruit and veggies for my sandwiches. If you like your eggs uncruched, you can carry them in an egg carton. Just be sure to label it hard boiled. Nuts are also good on the go. Please get tested to see what supplements...
  2. You do not have to be eating gluten to do a genetic test for gluten intolerance. The Gluten Free Society has one that you can do by mail. I got my diagnosis this way and my MD backed it. She may have had to do some studying in order to endorse it, but she affirmed that it was more dependable than the blood antibody tests for IGG that she gave me. Mine...

  5. And if you had major constipation and/or diarrhea, swelling in legs and often other extremities, moodiness, thyroid issues, anemia, bloating, allergies, etc. would that be enough to just stay off gluten? Help! First, a question, For how long have you been ailing? That might help someone to know how long before you start feeling better. I hate to tell...
  6. . If someone has Celiac and does not adhere to a 100% gluten-free diet, their mortality rate is twice that of the general population. Yep, twice as likely to die. Can anyone back this up with official documentation? This could be helpful to me.
  7. I have heard of a couple of cases where a person was up from the grave, because they changed their diet. So glad he has you, Traces, to help. It sure sounds like you are on a good trek. It is very hard to get better. It is a long path with many turns and dips. Have patience and endure. Not only the sick one is on this trip, but all of those that know...
  8. My doctor told me that psoriasis is definately connected with gluten intolerance. I have other of the symptoms you mention foggines, anxiety, and blurry vision. These do seem to be much improved by my grain free diet. I have been on it 2 months. I hope you will be helped and get healthy.
  9. I understand about the MD just sending one on their way. I wish it were so easy. I too am experiencing new reachtions and wondering what on earth? I too look at the forum and discover I feel the same things as everyone else.
  10. I make homemade pizza using eggs instead of cheese. It looks sort of like cheese. Then I use sauce and pleanty of toppings. IF you use enough toppings maybe it would hide the "cheese".

If you can't guess it this lady has a natural healthcare bend. Who wouldn't after trying ineffective drugs that gave nothing but side effects? I spent more than a decade nursing children and I couldn't take drugs while I was nursing.

I only had 2 children, but still spent a lot of time nursing. It's the way to go. No formula to mix or heat up. We had power outages with no worries about how to feed the baby.

  14. The Gluten Free Society has a test by mail. They are on the web. THERE IS NO NEED TO EAT GLUTEN FOR THE TEST. My MD backed the test even when my antibody test was negative. She said that the genetic test was the one to believe. The cost of the test was $385. I had 4/4 alleles for gluten intolerance. They test for Celiac and gluten intolerance genes...
  15. Right, well I don't have anything like that yet. My body is incredible at finding it in the air.
  16. -----s. Back from nowhere! In my second year of college (at 19 That would be 1982)., I fell ill with mono-nucleosis. I slept for up to 20 hours a day and was still tired. Months later, my blood tested normal and I tried to return to college. Sleep still did not refresh me. Then, I came down with pleurosy ("The old lady's diesease) and spent more...
  17. My son recently had giarrdia. I had him on an herbal thyme product and that did not take out the parasites on its own. I can't remember how long he was on it perhaps about a month. I took him to an osteopathic doctor. I was horrified when he recommended antibiotics as I expected a natural cure. But he said it was the very safest, most, effective cure...
  18. Thank you very much for helping a friend. Diana
  19. Thank you for this thread, I needed some humor today.... Your welcome, It is best to take things with some humor. It is better than crying about it.
  20. "Afew on the board who get into really dangerous situations if they are exposed to gluten, and they do need the alert bracelets. " How do I learn if I am here? I had IGG tests (Neg), but it is believed to be false negative, so, huh?
  21. I am wondering if I should be wearing, or having in my purse with my driver's license something that identifies me as a Celiac? What are others doing? After I saw what invisible bread crumbs do to my arm; I think it is important-maybe.
  22. I did classic gluten free for two months. I was still having alot of dizzy/fatigue symptoms. I went grain free. I am still pulling out of withdrawl after two months. But I feel better. I have energy and am not tired without a good reason to be. Now, I am seeing some things that I am reacting to. The smell of rice cooking caused my neck glands to...
  23. My arms suddenly stung and that made me look at them. It was then I noticed I had the red blotches. I used the same dish soap (7th Generation) as an earlier meal. The blotches are gone this morning, but my body is swollen. I think I better read my shampoo bottle and all that.
  24. Yes, I have a family that eats gluten. Yes, I try to avoid it. But today I cleaned off the counter and sink area. When I looked down at my arms they had a rash from wrist to elbow. It is flat red and not itchy, but it is definate enough for people to see it is there. This hasn't happened to me before. Now, I want to know does this happen to you...
  25. I just want to know that as a mother I really feel for you. Hang in there. I would concentrate on taking care of yourself and your children. Everything else may need to slide for a while. I am praying for you. If you have a friend or family member which can help you it would be good. But if you don't, just know that another mother has been there and...
