ARCHIVED Hypoglycemia - Go For Protein Or Go For High Glucose?
1desperateladysaved replied to MrsVJW's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
When you have trouble with hypoglycemia, the thing you want to do is keep your blood sugar study. I am talking about prevention here. My diet include 3 oz of protein to 27 carbs. I also include 1 tbsp of good fat. That would be olive oil, coconut oil, or butter. One might eat more than that, but keep the ratios that way. I have very little fruit and... -
ARCHIVED Symptoms That Improved On Supplements And Gluten Free Diet
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
This is just what I wanted. Thanks, I don't think I was done with my list; however it may come in snatches. Please others can you add to this? I am glad people like it. The more variety in our symptoms shared the more encouraging it can be! There is hope. -
I use the MD to diagnose. I find out what is wrong, if it is really extreme. I go home and find a natural way to deal with it or wait. Seriously, five years ago I almost died, but was still unwilling to see an MD. If they can't help me when I know something is wrong, how can they help me when I don't. Natural means has brought me a long way, but I...

ARCHIVED Waking Blood Sugar Of 66
1desperateladysaved replied to SleepyBunny's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
. I ate some fries after having a rice cake with almond butter last night before bed. I test my sugar after eating it and it was right under 120. I felt fine You might try having more protein for such a snack. Perhaps the almond butter did not contain enough fat and protein to offset the carbs. You might try an egg or cheese for protein with the rice... -

ARCHIVED Seriously, Will It Ever Get Better?
1desperateladysaved replied to kam43's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Many of us felt worse before we felt better. I would say you are experiencing withdrawl symptoms. It can take a long time to recover. Hang in there, because I am 3 months into it and usually not foggy. Others assure in their posts that things do get better. Your body is working hard just now. DT -
ARCHIVED Pregnant And Nauseated - Help!
1desperateladysaved replied to Ntheodo1's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Small dabs of protein helped my nausea at bay. Also, the delivery of a healthy baby cured me of it. This too must pass I used to tell myself. I didn't enjoy the nausea, but I was sure glad to have the baby. Five of my extremely nauseating pregancies ended with the birth of a healthy baby. It is uncomfortable, you are sick, but all can be well with the... -
Those undiagnosed are probably My Mom, My Dad, my husband, my sister and brother. My children, my neighbor, and friends that are suffering immensly. Does this make anyone else interpret people any differently? Wow, we think we have it bad; these people are aching, having rashes, and other symptoms and they think it comes from nowhere! We can do something...

ARCHIVED Outrageous Things I Have Said And Done!
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
"Does anyone else wash their hands after each cracked egg? Just wondering" WOw! If I did that I would wash my hands 24 times just to make breakfast! I wash mine before I start and when they get sloppy. My home-grown eggs are washed before they end up in the kitchen. -
I had about one week of feeling physically great and then lapsed into difficulties and depression. I reacted forcefully to smelling allergens and accidental contact with gluten. Now, after 3 months I am usually feeling okay. I have bloating issues, but my mind is clear and not dizzy except some days. I am struggling to understand how to get even better...

I don't do it well sometimes. My family took a trip. I was afraid to get in the car with the yeast bread they had along. I ate my meals either down wind from them or at the next table. I sent them in to the traditional annual visit at a Duluth restaurant as I ate cold food in the parking lot. I felt so lonely, but I don't want to control their whole...

ARCHIVED Discouraged And Worried
1desperateladysaved replied to kelly79mass's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
IF you have succeeded in beginning a gluten free diet, I would not be surprised if her appetite is slack. My appetite slacked for a long while. If this is a mental thing I know the diet is a hard thing for me as an adult. Hang in there one day she may make her own decision to follow the diet. It tends to be motivating when you suffer when you cheat. ... -
ARCHIVED Testing Catch 22
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I don't want to talk about keeping track of things, but... My symptoms seem so subjective and down right sneaky. Is that rash on my legs, or is it pressure spots? If my legs are pitted looking is it tripple hives or was I laying on an afaghan? What ever symptoms can I look for? I thought blood pressure and it was appearing to do strange things such... -
ARCHIVED Testing Catch 22
1desperateladysaved posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This should have been under Post tests. Because it has to do with allergy testing. This is an attempt to gain understanding on a subject which is confusing to me: It is my understanding that IGG and AGG is manufactured in the small intestine to combat allergies. One can test for its presence in the blood. I have understood with my body for sometime... -
ARCHIVED Outrageous Things I Have Said And Done!

Just for a moment imagine you were the healthy one and you heard or saw these things: I accidentally licked an envelope, charged to the bathroom with my tongue out. Rinsed my tongue. Then I spent two days with fatigue. Would you believe that? I was in the same room where someone was using barley flour. I irritably complained that it made me dizzy... -

ARCHIVED Does This Sound Like Gluten Intolerance Or Celiac Disease?
1desperateladysaved replied to Yumeji's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have been wheat free for a long time. This post just reminded my that the times I went to Subway I felt like my "food" was a brick in my tummy. When it was time for the next meal; I felt as if I had just eaten. Do others feel as if your body doesn't break down the food if gluten is in it? Gross, but true. No wonder our bodies get goofed up.... -
ARCHIVED Need To Vent...husband Doesn't Get It!
1desperateladysaved replied to beachbirdie's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Oh, I fit right in here. I asked my husband if he wanted me to die. He did not. I hope you all get the loving support which we need. Our husbands are not unloving so much as not understanding. Gluten intolerance wasn't even on the back side of our marriage agreement even in small print. It was a surprise that came with the package deal! None of...
