  1. I was feeling that spinny head thing in the kitchen yesterday morning. I looked in my essential oil book and tried to find one for dizziness. I failed to find an oil for it, that I had, so I picked peppermint because it was good for allergies. I diffused it in the kitchen and my dizziness has not been a problem since
  2. Thanks, I have asked for a family meeting. I was refused as I have ended up with negative behaviour such as crying and yelling in the past. I also have suggested a 3 month trial for all the family. I think it likely that my children have inherited one of my 4 of 4 gene alleles that predisposed me to gluten problems. I just don't seem to get through to...
  3. I like coconut and almond milk. One does not have to have dairy milk. There is life without it, if you are willing.
  4. There is what is called an elimination diet. You have done it. I think you pretty much proved you have a gluten problem. I had false negative IGG tests. I had a 4/4 genes for gluten intolerant result. I cut eating gluten and my body felt great for 5 days; then I started getting signals (dizziness, and difficulty concentrating) very frequently. I just...
  5. Can you spend some time outside to get some vitamin D?
  6. I have been grain free for nearly a month. My family is not on board. I just noticed yesterday that being in my kitchen makes me dizzy. yes, I was washing dishes, cleaning up flour, and moving loaves of bread in the pantry. I felt better when I went outside.
  7. I quit gluten about a month ago. One generally continues having symptoms for a long time. Have you heard of gluten withdrawl? I felt somewhat better for a week. Then I was dizzy and light headed most of the time. Sometimes I feel good. My MD says it will be 6 months before symptoms should slack off. It takes a long time to get over long standing illness...
  8. I am three weeks into gluten free and can relate. I felt so good for the first week. The swirls in my head are quieter, but they are still there.
  9. I think trying a grain free diet would be a really good idea for both of you. Health to you.
  10. Why worry if your food might be set on a glutened plate, or if there is corn in your restaurant salt? I had a "car oven". It plugged into the 12 volt outlet in the car. I was able to warm one or two servings in it. The cost was about 40 dollars. It lasted for a year or two before our rough treatment did it in. I found this oven would not heat frozen...
  11. I had a "car oven." It could keep warm one or two servings by plugging into the 9 volt outlet of the car. Mine lasted a year or two. It was 40 dollars. I have seen advertised a travelbuddy oven. They claim it uses the 9 volt connection of the car and will bake a pie. The cost was around 200 dollars. I sure like the larger capacity and ability to...
  12. I used Chinese 5 spice powder to flavor my dish. I used arrowroot starch to thicken it. I have problems with fermentation, so soy sauce has been out for years! It was very simalar to the beef stir fry I read in the recipes yesterday. Yummy
  13. Beef brocolli and wild rice. Maybe it was scientific; I had it again as leftovers for today's lunch. I am okay, so perhaps it was just random symptoms. I avoid dairy, except for an occasional dab of butter. I try to use olive oil or coconut oil instead. My doctor said that I will drive my family crazy for 6 months! I take it that the recovery...
  14. Do other people feel like they are getting worse? I cut out gluten a few weeks back and now when I come in contact with it, I can tell my body goes crazy. I don't really think that I was getting worse, so I decided upon the following: My body had been so overwhelmed that it was constantly reacting to gluten. I felt awful, but there was nothing else...
  15. This is my life every day. I live with 5 people that cannot eat gluten free. I am hoping that one day it will be different. It already has gotten better as people have discovered that is much easier to make one meal which Mom can eat. We must do what we must do. Hopefully, we are rewarded for it; I know I am.
  16. I don't know too much yet, but I found I felt better when I ate no grain at all. I went through withdrawl when I cut out spelt and kamut. I went through a second withdrawl when I cut out rice and all grains. Also when I eat away from home I bloat or get hives. When I saw the MD the other day she told me you look pregnant. Indeed, I did and futhermore...
  17. Congratulations, children are a great blessing. I say that and I have 7 pretty grown up ones. They are very motivating as reasons to succeed with the diet.
  18. I hope for you good health. It is such a relief to know that one is not crazy, making things up, and there is something one can do or not do to get better.
  19. I have 7 children and think it unlikely that they do not have an intolerance. I believe in training them in the way they should go. I would not want to cause them harm by letting them eat it. I think that we can all find good things to eat without gluten. For my children though they are old enough to decide for themselves. I am hoping for results in...
  20. I began a traditional gluten free diet about 6 months back. I experienced 3-4 months of withdrawl symptoms. I balanced out feeling better, but continuing a pattern of relapse into fatigue. I began to see information that there is gluten in corn, rice, and the grains I was eating. I therefore decided to forgo all grain. I have instead begun to use...
  21. Hi, I love carbs too. I am enjoying crackers made of almonds and sesame seeds. So do my picky family. I was found to be genitically gluten intolerant. My family is not interested in the diet.
  22. I no longer eat any grain and that change from a traditional gluten diet to no grain made me experience a second round of withdrawl. However, after a week I think I am noticeably better. I hope the same for you.
  23. I think you should try going gluten free for a while. I did a genetic test for gluten intolerance which was positive having 4/4 genes tested for. I did an antibody blood test which was negative. The diet is helping me.
