  1. My husband is having a colonscopy tomorrow & I keep finding conflicting information on whether he can have bouillon or not with Celiac. As you all are probably aware, he can only have liquids until the procedure. Please help!
  2. Someone my husband works with has said that for many years he had celiac & now is cured. He says it is extremely rare but in certain instances you can be cured. Does anyone know if this is possible? I don't want to get my hopes up if it isn't.
  3. I guess my husband & I look at him as sick. Maybe because that it is early on & he has lost so much weight. We just got married 3 weeks ago & are having a reception this weekend so I'm sure people will talk then. At his family reunion last week they all kept saying how bad he looked. I think that some better phrasing could probably be used...
  4. So far my parents & my husbands parents seem to understand what is happening with him & celiac. My husbands brother in law has the skin type of the disease so he understands. A LOT of people just don't get it & a few people have even said they wish they could have it for a while to lose some weight. I need one reliable source on the internet...
  5. My husband was just told by looking at his blood tests that he has celiac but they are giving him a biopsy & colonoscopy next week. They said they are checking for Crohn's disease. Is that normally associated with celiac? I feel totally in the dark on this topic.
  6. Thanks for that advice. I was headed to Ebay to order some cookbooks but what you said makes perfect sense.
  7. So what can you have, if anything, as far as alcoholic beverages? I would assume it would be wine but what else?
  8. My husband was just diagnosed this week & I have already learned so much from this website. I think seeing what people have to say that are actually experiencing the same thing is much better than all the contradictory websites. This really helps!
  9. What happens if you have some gluten? Do you have to be 100% gluten free for a period of time before you get any better or what happens if you slip up?
  10. Do you have to have gluten free everything? I mean even products like shampoos, soaps, etc. Wow, I was overwhelmed by just food having to be gluten free. Is that for everyone or just people who have the type of sprue that effects the skin?
  11. I'm so overwhelmed by what book to get also. There are so many & so much contradictory information. I really want a list of regular foods for my husband to eat. Do I have to contact individual companies or individual websites or is there a complete or somewhat complete list of actual store bought foods that he can eat? He was just diagnosed a few...

  13. Oops! My first reply & I already made a boo boo. I posted to the wrong one.
  14. If you go to heinz.com you will find a complete gluten free list. On this list is ketchup. So you can have all the ketchup you want & don't have to worry about finding a replacement.
