  1. My husband seems to have a very rapid heartbeat sometimes. He says he doesn't notice it during the day but at night it feels like his heart is doing flip flops. Is this a normal symptom of Celiac? Does this happen when he has had gluten possibly?
  2. Just curious if anyone is from Kentucky or southern Indiana.
  3. I do believe he has most of those symptoms. The worst symptom for me is when he has a very fast heartbeat. I have seen that listed as a symptom several places. It is very frightening. His bones also are still aching. Last night, however, he said he was feeling really good. That is a good sign to have a pain free day. Hopefully we are on our way.
  4. Thanks for your help. I have found a lot of great stuff that I'll be ordering.
  5. I was getting ready to post a similar question. My husband has had the same type of reactions as you did twice lately. We knew that the day he felt that way he didn't really eat anything that could have been full of gluten we thought. We are grasping for straws & were thinking, like you, that he actually got something with gluten the day before. We...
  6. I'm fairly new here so what exactly is Living Without?
  7. We really like microwave popcorn. I would assume that since several of the major brands are gluten free that this brand is also but I guess I'll get some Act II & wait to hear from our brand.
  8. Wow, what a good question. My husband is gluten free & I can't eat dairy. Hopefully there are more people in the same situation as us.
  9. I wrote Jimmy Dean & have gotten no response so far. As far as the turkey from Land O'Frost....they say it is gluten free. I just thought it might be turkey in general that gets him.
  10. What about microwave popcorn in general?
  11. Can turkey cause a gluten like reaction. My husband ate turkey sausage & had a horrible reaction. A few days later he had Land O'Frost turkey (which is gluten free supposedly) & had an other bad reaction. Does anyone know if and why turkey could cause these gluten like symptoms?
  12. I really need some help this time. My husband would love nothing more than to have some popcorn tonight. I bought some Cousin Willie's Movie Theater Butter Microwave Popcorn. Anyone know if microwave popcorn is okay? The ingredients are as follows: Popcorn, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, salt, natural & aritifical flavors & beta carotene...
  13. Can you buy from Whole Foods online?
  14. Anyone know of a good online source for ordering gluten free food? I need to find some decent tasting bread & pizza!!!! Thanks!
  15. Could you please send it to us also? swittenauer@hotmail.com Thanks!
  16. Wow, thanks everyone....I'm taking notes....keep 'em coming.
  17. Thanks! I thought I would try the forum first for some good quick recipes since everyone here seems to be so helpful & knowledgeable.
  18. I am looking for a few good REALLY SIMPLE recipes to make for dinner. Keep in mind that my husband loves steak & potatoes but we can't eat that every night. I'm not the greatest chef in the world but need a few recipes that are somewhat quick, tasty & don't have a zillion ingredients. Anyone have any ideas?
  19. Strange that someone would mention Delimex while I am sitting here eating Delimex taquitos. They are awesome. I eat them all the time & normally take them for my lunch. My husband is the one with Celiac & has yet to try them because I keep eating them all. Ha! You should try them.
  20. So, is it safe to say that what he has has nothing to do with Celiac?
  21. My husband is really achy also & has said he feels like it is the flu. He is meeting with a nutritionist today & hopefully if he has been exposed to gluten in some food we are unaware of then they can help & maybe ease his pain. Just yesterday he got it bad. We aren't sure if it was the Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage or the Cousin Willies popcorn...
  22. Who really knows what that guy has or had? We were just curious. My husband is meeting with a nutritionist today so hopefully they will be able to point us in a good direction to help ease his aches, pains, stomach issues, etc. by eating better foods & being more knowledgeable.
  23. On second thought, he says it is very itchy which would explain why he is always asking me to scratch his back. What was I thinking?
  24. It is not flaky....just very dry & rough. It is kind of splotchy around his hairline & on his forehead also.
