  1. My husband had the worlds worst gas right before he was diagnosed. I specifically remember our wedding day. Ha! He had it forever. It is not funny but you really do have to laugh. I spent a many a night fanning the bedroom door back & forth to keep from suffocating from his gas. Ha!
  2. Sorry no east coast here.....I can't seem to find anyone on here from Kentucky.
  3. I think once you think you have gotten gluten from a product , it is hard to change your mind on that produce. Twice my husband had a problem with turkey & now he will probably never touch it again for fear of getting that sick again. He eats a lot of ham instead. It works for him.
  4. No cure....that is true. But time will tell if they come up with one. Here's hoping.
  5. Well, it's good to know others experience the same thing & that it could be simply because of celiac. It seems that most all of the symptoms he has can be traced back to celiac.
  6. I am sorry that you are having a hard time. My husband has Celiac & I can't imagine not doing all that I can to support him 100%. The more knowledge I gain the more I can help. We research together & try & learn about things that effect him & how to make things better. I think your husband just needs to know more to really understand....
  7. I would think that he had some type of allergy instead or maybe he just self diagnosed himself incorrectly. Either way, there isn't a cure. We know better now.
  8. I know talking makes it worse but it is really hard to not try & talk it out especially if you don't realize it is because of the gluten. I hope I'm getting better at figuring that out though. He has gotten much better at recognizing when that is what is wrong.
  9. It actually seems to improve the longer he is gluten free. when he has gluten accidentally it starts up worse again. Lately.....it has been better.
  10. I did a posting on anger. You might find it informative because my husband has the exact same problem that you do. It seems as though it is very common. If you look under my topics....it is called ANGER.
  11. He is taking his supplements & hopefully the celiac won't effect the healing process too much. However, how could it not?
  12. Thanks! I knew there was a list from campbells. I didn't have enough patience for it to arrive in the mail. I don't think he'll go for the lentil soup though. Good to know about the pasta sauces too. We usually stick to Newmans Own Pasta Sauces.
  13. That is great news! Hopefully feeling better is right around the corner for my husband also. He has been gluten free since July.
  14. I think that is the best question ever asked on here. My husband has tried a couple different types of bread & they are all hard as rocks. We don't have time either to be baking bread. Hopefully someone knows of something good.
  15. I say let the past stay in the past & move on & lets just keep helping each other understand & learn about celiac & share our experiences.
  16. I think that is what I have heard....it probably was from a member from Canada. I'll just stick with the Chicken Cheese Broccoli soup for now. The store where we shop has the gluten free broth but no soups.
  17. Kentucky. We do have a Whole Foods Market but we are just trying to simplify & saw on here that someone said some of Campbells Soups are gluten free. I was wondering what types they were & what other regular brands we could find at our regular local grocery stores.
  18. I don't think I can get those at Kroger or Walmart. I was hoping to find some everyday brands. Am I out of luck?
  19. What brands of soups are gluten free? I know there are brands in the specialty stores but what about Campbells, Healthy Choice, etc. I get my husband the Chunky Chicken Broccoli Cheese soup from Campbells but I don't know of any others. I'm sure he could go for something different as far as soup is concerned.
  20. My husband loves Land O Frost lunch meats. They are really good!
  21. I agree on the peanut butter. My husband is the celiac but my daughter loves them that way & so do I. We do our best to eat gluten free also.
  22. I just checked out the sansgluten site & it has a little bit of everything. Thanks for the link!
  23. He takes a supplement. Maybe I just worry too much.
  24. No, he isn't a smoker. I just thought it just had to be related to celiac. Seems to make sense.
  25. My husband broke his leg on 9/29. I was wondering if being a celiac would slow down the healing process due to not absorbing nutrients as well. On the xrays it looks the same as it did when it initially happened. Has anyone heard anything about the healing of bones with celiac?
