  1. I skipped to the end of this thread. There is nooooo way I'm going to read all of this or I might get hooked also. Ha!
  2. That's exactly what I was thinking. My husband always gets the Southwest Steak Bowl with no Jalapeno sauce & pintos & cheese. He loads them up with sauce. Can't seem to get enough hot sauce.
  3. Well, today is the worst yet he says. My husband says he hasn't been this sick since it all started over a year ago. He has had diarrhea all day & has been cold, has a headache, aches all over & is sleeping again right now. He ate some rice noodles & Sierra Mist but I can't get him to eat or drink anything else. Isn't this disease just awful...
  4. That happens to me also. I'll go gluten free since my husband is. If I order pizza or eat out at work & eat whatever sounds good then I get sick. I thought it was some other allergy or something but it makes sense that if you do without something forever & then eat it that you might not feel so good since you aren't used to it.
  5. Unless I drink too much red wine as with anything else I would get a headache.
  6. If he remembers that would be great. We are headed back to Gatlinburg later this month.
  7. That sounds good. I've never thought of that before for some reason. My husband refuses to eat the skin but maybe he'll change his mind if I do that. Do you have a specific recipe you use?
  8. I agree. We don't take chances. If there is any chance my husband may get glutened then we pass on whatever that food or place may be.
  9. Thanks guy, now I'm craving fries! I guess I know what I'll be having for dinner.
  10. I'm always looking for a good book with new & relavent info. I think I may pass on that one now.
  11. Wow! I would love to go to Starbucks & grab a cookie when I get some coffee. Sounds nice!
  12. My husband is having the same issue. He has been eating the same foods he always has but something is getting him so we are checking & rechecking labels to see what has changed. Thanks for mentioning that. It is easy to get complacent & simply not double check.
  13. I was by no means saying my husband isn't 100% in on gaining knowledge & learning about celiac with me. He is always sharing info with me as I do with him. He is knowledgeable about what to eat where & what is good or bad. He by no means leaves it up to me. We support each other totally. I think I was just wondering if you eat gluten free yourself...
  14. I've never heard of a mild case. I thought you either had it or didn't have it. I would recommend being 100% gluten free.
  15. My husband is a Celiac. I was wondering if anyone else on here was the spouse of someone with this and if so how do things work in your house or your life because of this? I just thought we could exchange some ideas or thoughts.
  16. I will take a look at those sites. I just hope some more people have a few more suggestions for me.
  17. Do you have any place you order from that you could recommend?
  18. Does anyone shop at the gluten free mall? I'm trying to find a place with a good selection of gluten free products including frozen foods that won't kill you on shipping.
  19. So, do you guys just think that the gluten free mall is better? I just noticed that one on this site. Reasonable on shipping or not?
  20. Can I order those online somewhere?
  21. Has anyone ever bought food online from glutenfreecenter.com? I saw a ton of stuff I could get on there for my husband but wanted to see if anyone has ever used that company before. The shipping was pretty decent also. I want to order frozen food along with regular shelved food also. Thanks!
  22. The one's I bought are from Natures Bounty & say 3 mg. What about the autoimmune part? I don't want to ever give him anything that may hurt him.
  23. I just read that melatonin is not good for people with autoimmune diseases. Is it safe for him to take to help his sleep problem?
  24. My husband started taking melatonin last night for his sleep issues. I just read, however, that it is not for people with autoimmune disorders. I know someone else mentioned that. I am concerned & can't really find the info I need on melatonin & if it is ok for celiacs. Anyone have some insight? Thanks!
