  1. Wow! Thanks for that info! I'm headed off to find some this weekend. My husband will be overjoyed.
  2. He has taken large doses of antibiotics & has a cream & drops for his ears & it appears to be getting better. It was scary to hear how bad it can be if untreated since he has had this problem for about a year but has been so busy with being diagnosed with celiac & breaking his leg that this got put on the back burner.
  3. That is good to hear. You have to have some humor about you when you have Celiac or like me have a spouse with it. We do pretty good though overall dealing with it. You just work around the things you can't have & find substitutions as best you can.
  4. I didn't get into it yet but that is my plan for lunch today to start reading it. The more info the better.
  5. My husband has now been diagnosed with Cellulitis in his ear. Anyone experience this before? It is supposedly because of his immune systems issues because of Celiac.
  6. Well, we just got back from Gatlinburg & ate wonderfully there. The Black Bear Jamboree was awesome. My husband got 2 pieces of chicken, green beans, corn, fruit, etc. We also hit the Outback Steakhouse while there. He had a great experience & everyone was very helpful in helping him remain gluten free.
  7. My husband always gets the Southwest Steak Bowl without the Jalapeno sauce & an order of pintos & cheese. He loves it & has had no problems with it.
  8. My husband is a huge fan of Edy's Mint Chocolate Chip. It is awesome!
  9. Has anyone read Living Gluten Free for Dummies yet? I just got it yesterday & am really excited to open it up & get started tonight.
  10. That sounds sooo familiar. My husband sometimes just doesn't feel right. No specific cause. It wasn't because of gluten. He just feels achy & kind of run down. I think it just goes with the territory unfortunately. He has been checked from head to toe & can't find anything wrong at all.
  11. He has been exhausted since it all started. You would think that it would subside but no real luck so far. He has been checked from head to toe & they can't find any cause besides celiac in general. Time will tell.
  12. Great! I love to hear about good experiences like that.
  13. Well they weren't going to be eaten anyway by any of us I'd say.
  14. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside & it looks to fit that exact description. If you go to the Disney site or allears.net they have a ton of info. I also read up at epinions.com about the different Disney hotels.
  15. It seems like our whole trip will be gluten free since I did a posting on Atlanta places to eat also since we are stopping there for a few days on our way down. Thanks everyone!
  16. Right now we have Barbies Rockin Hits for our daughter, Brad Paisley for me & Meatloaf for my husband.
  17. The meetup.com idea was great!!! I got all of the menus to restaurants maked with what is gluten free. We are gonna have a ball & be very full also.
  18. We have the noise machines. Two in fact. The lights are up a bit much for me. I guess I have always dimmed them as the day went on just naturally but I think I'll do that with him too at night. I hope it helps.
  19. He has not attempted to take any medications yet because he doesn't want to take anything that could be addictive. It sounds like all of the medications are addictive.
  20. I called & made the reservations for eating. They were very helpful & said any restaurant would be able to help us when we get there if we just ask for the chef that he will come over & let us know what can & can't be ordered. We are super excited & I think my husband will leave there full & happy.
  21. My husband is so so tired but can't seem to get a decent nights sleep since being diagnosed with Celiac. He has been thoroughly checked out by the doctor but the only reason this is happening still seems to go back to the Celiac. Does anyone know of any non addictive really good over the counter sleep medications?
  22. Sounds good to me. I'd love more recipes. I'd also love some simple quick meal ideas with not a lot of preparation time because if any of you are like me,& I'm sure some are, there just isn't enough time in the day for everything.
  23. Are their any chinese foods you can buy in the store like LaChoy or anything that are gluten free or how about Chinese restaurants....are they 100% out? I would assume so but it never hurts to ask. We have steered clear of them.
  24. No he hasn't but we may give that a try.
  25. From time to time he can now seem to have some turkey without a reaction but no turkey sausage for sure. I'm not sure what it is but turkey just doesn't seem to get along with his stomach very well.
