  1. Thanks for all the good sites to buy gluten free food. I really wish Whole Foods was online though. That seems to be the only place we can get good bread. We don't use it for sandwiches though since it isn't that great but makes awesome garlic or cheese toast.
  2. It actually seems to worse if he gets glutened. It is almost like sandpaper on his upper back.
  3. Well, I was hoping to hear something wonderful. We were hoping that there was a place or 2 in that area that someone may have had luck with or that understood what celiac was. I know you all know, we just get a little tired of eating at the same places even though those select few are awesome.
  4. I just did a posting on Gatlinburg but totally forgot that we are going to Atlanta, GA on vacation before that. Anyone know of a good website that lists any gluten free restaurants or of any specific places in Atlanta or near that offer gluten free food. We are going to Stone Mountain for a few days but will be really close to Atlanta. Thanks for any help...
  5. Strangely enough I just started a topic on Gatlinburg also. We are also going to FL in June to Disney World & to Atlanta GA for a few days so you read my mind. Vacations always make me wonder what in the world we are going to eat or where we are going to eat.
  6. As bad as it is to hear that someone else experiences the same thing, it is comforting to know that we aren't alone.
  7. Yes they have.
  8. My husband was diagnosed last July & still is so so tired most all of the times it seems. Some times are worse than others but overall he is just plain tired. He got back his most recent bloodwork & everything came up roses. My question is, will he ever get over being this way? Is it just part of it? I just want to help him in some way but am...
  9. I had to call my husband as soon as I read this. We are finally going to have meatloaf. I've been craving it for so long & never thought of using the potatoes. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
  10. Wow! New places to shop! I think I'll try them all. We usually go to Whole Foods or Kroger & Meijer have gluten free sections also.
  11. Oh, we love those Delimex Taquitos. I'm not gluten free but my husband is but I take them for lunch a couple of times a week. We get them at either Krogers or Sams Club. They are awesome.
  12. The only bread we have found that was any good at all was fromWhole Foods. My husband still won't use it for a sandwich. We make garlic or cheesy bread to go with our gluten free pasta & it is awesome for that use.
  13. We have been there several times but not since my husband was diagnosed. I was hoping that since it is such a poplular travel area that maybe some of the restaurants had run into this before & are somewhat knowledgeable & helpful.
  14. We use Cattleman's BBQ sauce.
  15. My family is going to Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge in July & we were wondering if anyone has any suggestions about where to eat or has had any experiences being gluten free on vacation there. Thanks!
  16. Well, I'm getting really excited now. Every place should cater to food allergies like it sounds they do.
  17. I tried that first but didn't find much. I'll try again. Thanks! I'd love to hear something positive about going to Disney World as far as food is concerned.
  18. My husband, myself & our daughter are planning a trip to Disney World in June & we were wondering what we might run across as far as gluten free food. Anyone have any info on the food there or been there & know from experience? Thanks for any help you can give us.
  19. What a scary story. I'm glad you caught that and had it checked out. You can never be too careful. I guess that is another reason to have it checked out to be on the safe side. I can't imagine someone saying to stand on your head. That's a new one on me.
  20. Well, it looks as though my theory could be wrong about the connection. It's hard to tell with such a small sample group. If anyone knows of a connection between the two I would be curious to access any such information.
  21. My husband has scoliosis too we just found out & I was just curious if more people on here have it also. Some research shows there is a link so I'm wondering how common it really is.
  22. The only thing that really got me going on this posting was the comment about celiac being scandalous. I just don't understand that. I will go to our tribunal where they are knowledgeable on canon law, etc. & see if there is something new regarding this disease but after doing a bit of research on the internet today...I can't seem to find anything...
  23. DelMontes website states that it is gluten free.
  24. I'm just glad that the point of the host was brought up & is becoming more widely recognized as an issue for todays world. In the archdiocese where I work there is already a church offering the low gluten host. It's good to see the awareness.
  25. I'm curious about the catholic comment also. I've never heard that before & I work for the catholic church.
