  1. Yeah...I was lost in the back pages. Ummm...I feel like I'm back in school and just got called on and have no idea what the question was. Meat...I agree with Andrea. Organic grass fed is the way to go...its all I eat as far as meat goes. Was that the question??
  2. Not really sure Stephanie....I havent worn them out yet. I've only tried them on a couple times and they're really snug and cozy like my other Uggs. I live in Ca so even in the winter I dont think the open back will make that much difference. Probably depends how cold it gets where you live.
  3. Tifanny, have you ever tried gluten-free bread?? Most brands I wouldnt even think of eating untoasted because they just taste so bland and well...cardboard like. Toasting does seem to help somewhat in making them more edible but still...nothing like real, gluten filled, melt in your mouth bread. . Not even close....the texture is all wrong. gluten-free bread...
  4. I'm no expert when it comes to baking but I'm thinking you would just substitute whole eggs for the egg replacer. You obviously dont need to use the replacer if you're able to eat eggs.
  5. It sounds like you're doing the best you can do and thats all that you can really do since it doesnt seem like he's going to change. I think for being only 16 you sound very responsible and are doing all you can to keep yourself healthy. I'm impressed. Just keep on doing what you're doing, taking care of yourself and eating gluten-free....whether he likes...
  6. Wow Chelse.....it wasnt enough that they took most of your girls....now this??? I'd be really angry too!
  7. COOL!! I've always wanted to do one of those. They usually have one by my house every year around Halloween...never been to it though. Too funny....I'm trying to picture this in my head right now.
  8. Wow Nancy! What a turnaround from the way things were in the beginning! I'm so happy for you...and him. Thats just awesome.
  9. Yeah...its true about the Tums. They're not gluten free. I agree that the negative biopsy isnt really important....the positive bloodwork was enough for a diagnosis. Biopsies are a hit or miss....not definitive unless they come back positive. A negative cant rule Celiac out...especially with the + bloodwork. With your daughter having Celiac.....that...
  10. I've still got my cold...I thought yesterday would be the worst day and then I'd start feeling better but I'm home sick today. Its my second day I've missed since going back to work in Sept....I'm bummed out that I blew it. I was proud of only missing one full day.
  11. Just remembered....they were called stir-ups!! How approppriate! OMG....I'm sooo never gonna hear the end of this from my Mom!
  12. Good to hear from you Donna. Hopefully you wont have to go through anything like that again. Next time you can tell the dentist you have TMJ and maybe they can shorten the time you have to kepp your mouth open...so as not to aggravate it. Too bad about having to go off your diet...at least you know it helped with the itching though and you can get back...
  13. So true about the bread!! It tastes like cardboard to me. Actually I've had some that were decent but nothing like "real" bread. You just cant even compare the two....I was a big bread eater before I got sick. It was my favorite part of going out to eat...getting the breadbasket before the meal. They would end up sending like 4 baskets to my table. ...
  14. I have seen these shoes!! I've seen them everywhere!! I guess I never knew they were called Crocs. I think I'll pass on them though.....unless maybe they have some that are tangerine. I've been looking for tangerine sandals all summer with no luck. Well...actually I probably wouldnt buy them cuz I'm looking for "cute" sandals. If the Crocs were...
  15. I have some Ugg slippers/shoes...they're really cute. I think they were called "blossoms" or something like that. They are slip ons, dark leather, with blossom flowers stiched on them and of course fuzzy inside and around the edges. I'm not sure what to wear them with though??? Are they for winter?? I've had them since Xmas but havent worn them once....I...
  16. Yeah....I was wondering if the Uggs were "inappropriate" for August but I'm sick with a cold right now and felt like I needed to be warm and cozy. I was a little hot when I left the house for my doctors appt. and wished I hadnt worn sweats...but oh well. I was cold all day at work...sick and working in the dairy dept so I wanted to be as warm as I could...
  17. I think all of the "poisons" that are added into our foods play a big part. Too many additives, preservatives...stuff that makes the food able to sit on a shelf for a very long time and still be "edible". I don't think its a good thing at all. Its all chemicals and we've been feeding ourselves these toxins for years. I think we're more vulnerable when...
  18. I LOVE my Uggs...in fact I'm wearing them with my sweats right this very second. They are so comfy...my favorite shoes. I must be pretty out of it cuz I have no clue about Crocs. I've probably seen them...due to the fact that I'm a major shopoholic. They must be really ugly though...I probably walked right by them. Rinne....I'm glad you...
  19. If the villi are flattened then the correct diagnosis is Celiac Disease....leaky gut is a direct result of the damage gluten has caused. Other problems or food intolerances can also cause a leaky gut but this wouldnt be identified with flattened villi. A leaky gut is actually gaps in the intestinal lining that allows food particles to leak into the bloodstream...
  20. Awww.....I miss the DingoGirl. Will have to pm her and see if she's ok....make sure she's not drowning herself in bags of nuggets. You know what else I miss....ICE CREAM!! I'm in mourning right now but I think you will be proud of me Andrea....I wont be Racheling everything in sight cuz I'm sticking to the sulfite thing for awhile...I've talked...
  21. Andrea, Personally, I dont believe that we become intolerant because of eating too much of one food group. Every living thing pretty much eats the same foods in their diets day after day and you dont see them becoming allergic to everything. I think it would only be a problem with a food (like gluten) that the immune system is attacking. The resulting...
  22. Donna...I somehow missed your post earlier. I'm sorry you're not feeling too good. What happened? Was it food related or do you have the flu or something? I caught a cold so am feeling pretty yucky myself...it sounds like you were having a really bad time though. I was hoping you were ok....hadnt seen any posts from you. Hope it passes quickly. I...
  23. The test was for histamines...both blood and urine were for histamines. Did you get your results back yet? Good thinking Patti!!! I was thinking about mold but I'm not sure that mold would cause the vomiting Bev always gets. Water is a good possibility.
  24. Yesterday I went to the CA State Fair in Sacramento. Its the best fair ever...I try to go every year. So they have this livestock nursery where there are always a few pregnant cows. If you happen to be there at the right time...you can see the birth. How cool is that!!?? So every year I miss out...one year I stuck around till midnight staring at this...
  25. I dunno??? I've been there 3 times now and the only person I've seen there is her. I think in the future I will just choose another lab....the psycho lab coat wearing ogre has lost my business.
