  1. Morgan...good luck going chocolate/sugar free. I'm rooting for you! Karen, Great pic! The twins really resemble you from what I can tell. Its funny how opposite they are though!
  2. Thanks....I'm definately no angel but its nice that I can *look* like one once in awhile. I think its been awhile since I've gotten dressed up for anything....its pretty much been hats and jeans for me lately. The Dave thinks I look better all grubby with a hat on....yogurt and milk stains all over my apron and dirty kneepads at work. Not your typical...
  3. Thanks for the explanation Julie. I sometimes get a histamine reaction from the agave...same as I would with cane sugar. I know you guys all know how I am with Racheling food but I'm actually emabarrassed to say what I've done with the bottle of Agave in 2 days. I really like the stuff...it tastes like syrup to me and everytime I start using it I literally...
  4. Yeah....you would think....problem is I'm Rachel....and well...that says it all right there.
  5. I'm confused about sugars. When I look at the nutritional info on the back of a bag of cane sugar it says its got 4 gr. of sugar per serving. But when I look at agave nectar it has 16 gr. per serving. Why is it that the Agave is better for us than the cane sugar?? If I'm avoiding sugar should I also be avoiding the agave?? If they say sugar can...
  6. Refractory Sprue is very rare. Usually when someone is still having problems its due to hidden gluten in the diet or another food intolerance...it doesnt ususally turn out to be Refractory Sprue.
  7. Welcome to the board I would not worry about Refractory Sprue....you just need more time to heal. 6 weeks isnt alot of time....especially considering you had alot of damage. With the flattened villi you'd be lactose intolerant which is gonna make you still feel "not so good"....as the others have said...its a good idea to eliminate dairy until you...
  8. Wow....so many of us having our first anniversaries. Mine already passed in April. Congrats to all of us!!!!
  9. What do they have you drinking? I only had to drink the Fleet phosphosoda stuff...still tastes like ocean but its only a small bottle. I couldnt imagine drinking a jug of the stuff. The tiny bottle was bad enough... Feel bad for you.
  10. Great news Ryan....I bet you're even more excited now that you dont have to worry about that.
  11. I cant eat any beans....no beans for me...they are high in histamine too. Every bean I've tried has messed me up...plus I was letting them soak all night which only makes the histamine problem worse....I am just now finding out. I have all this stuff saved....all the lists from all the zillions of different diets....its hard to remember whats what...
  12. Judy...no worries. I repeat myself all the time here...say whatever it is you wanna say and we'll always listen. Ummm...did I confuse everyone?? I wasnt exactly saying sweet potatoes are high in histamine...as far as I know they're not. They were listed as being high in folic acid which can cause histamine levels to rise....not a problem unless you...
  13. Yeah...I dont put eggs in my ice cream. Only milk, cream and fruit....thats it. Not even sugar. Occassionally I've used vanilla. Andrea....I'm hoping if the levels come down I can eat a little bit here and there....space it out so that I dont get overloaded again but I'm not sure how much or how little it takes to set me off. I'll have to figure this...
  14. Just a trophy??? Trophy's are an excellent prize! I've gotten the tiniest trophies....some for 3rd place even but they still meant the world to me and I displayed them proudly in my room. I've never gotten cash for anything...just little trophies, ribbons, t-shirts...stuff like that. I have alot of softball t-shirts cuz thats what they pass out to the...
  15. OMG... I just checked out a list of foods rich in folic acid. I didnt see milk on the list but I did see EGG YOLKS. I've been eating these alot lately. I get rid of the whites because they can cause histamine release but I still eat the yolks. Holy cow...I fogot to tell you guys...on Friday I had 4 egg yolks for lunch and had a MAJOR histamine reaction...
  16. Robbin Wow...I hope I dont have endometriosis...it sounds pretty scary. Also...I still want to have kids so hopefully its not something that will cause problems in that area. That would really suck. You may have just given me a revelation with the stuff about ice cream!! I feel like since I've went back on dairy my histamine levels arent going down...
  17. YAY....I love everyones new pics. Ryan....cute couple. Debbie...glad to see you've got it all figured out. Have I seen a pic of you and hubby before? Was there a pic in the newspaper when they ran that article on Celiac Disease?? For some reason I thought there was.
  18. Nope, you didnt miss it...just need to refresh your page...hit F5. Cool on the drag racing!! Do you get anything for runner up?? ROFL Too funny Donna I must say....I sure am glad that whole ordeal is over with. Debbie...is the file in Jpeg format? Most of the pics I have stored on my computer arent in the right format...

  20. I dont think I've ever seen a post where someone has reacted to an Enjoy Life product from a gluten stand point. I trust their products as far as that goes. Is it possible he got sick from something else? Maybe he is sensitive to something else in the bars and cookies?
  21. Wow Nancy!! Thats so GREAT! I'm really happy for you. Your post will bring hope to alot of people in similar situations. Its nice that you've shared your excitement here. I'm feeling the same way even though I'm on the opposite end. I got way too skinny but now finally in the past 5 months I've gained almost all my weight back. It is something...
  22. Thanks for the info Babe. I dont know if I have this but they're gonna look for it when I have the surgery. I definately dont have the pain you're describing. That must be awful. Sorry you have to go through all this all at once.....hopefully things will improve after you've been strictly gluten-free for awhile. I would not be surprised if you found the...
  23. Thanks Bev. Dave was up to his antics again. He somehow "stole" my old avatar and was using it as his own. Kinda freaked me out at first but he fixed it and now he's got his cute puppies up.
  24. Thanks everyone for all the input! I've been reading about endometriosis a little and I'm not really clear as to why it happens but it does say its more common in womem over 30 who havent had children. I guess thats me. Having children gives the cycle a "break" and I guess thats what is helpful for not developing Endometriosis. If its not causing...
