    I've never heard that before. Where did you read that cuz I'm pretty sure potatoes are safe for Celiacs? Alot of people are sensitive to nightshades though. Potato is a nightshade. They bug me but I'm not sure why...they are the one thing I can eat and KNOW its gonna cause bloating and fluid retention...at the very least.

    Your doctor and husband are right to say keep eating gluten before the tests. Going gluten free....even for a short time can skew the reults. It is recommended that you eat gluten for about 3 months prior to testing. You will want to eat normal amounts of gluten during that time. A restricted diet can give false negatives.     Thanks for all that info. Julie. The thing is I wouldnt call my pain excrutiating at all. Its just more of a dull pain that comes and goes throughout the day. I feel it more depending on how I move...like if I bend over. The pain doesnt escalate as I get near my period either....it stays the same. Its probably at its worst when I'm ovulating. I actually...

    I dont seem to have a problem with plain cooked brown rice so I dont think that was the problem for me with the crackers. I think either msg, sulfites or gluten but leaning towards gluten. I cant eat alot of chicken either. I can do ok probably if I rotate it but definately not more than 2 days in a row. It could be a buildup of glutamates since chicken...

    I'm in the Bay Area all week..its cooler here than where I live in the Central Valley. It gets really hot there cuz its farther from the ocean. Most people think its too hot there but for me its perfect.

    Andrea, The Transglutaminase is what indicates whether damage is occurring in the digestive tract as a result of the intolerance to gluten. If everyone was under 10 then that is a good sign for all of you.
