  1. Enzyme deficiency *can* be aquired.....a perfect example is when a Celiac is diagnosed most have lactose intolerance due to the fact that the damage from gluten has wiped out the production of the enzynme required in digesting lactose. This can happen with fructose and pretty much all other foods....the intolerances come from the bodies inability to properly...
  2. Both Dr. Timmins and his son had undiagnosed gluten intolerance which led to a decline in health problems for both of them. It took more than just eliminating gluten for them to get better though but that seems to be the common denominator in all of these people who ended up with environmental illness. Essentially they were poisoned by gluten and unaware...
  3. Oh yeah...the capsules are gelatin-free. That was the whole reason I called him. He said he doesnt use gelatin at all since alot of people are sensitive to it.
  4. Ok...so he said he doesnt "hype up" any type of medication but he cant help but get excited when talking about the Ketotifen. I asked him if in his experience *everyone* sees positive results while taking it. His answer was Yes....and usually dramatic results can be seen. He said his case wasnt severe but the Ketotifen has done wonders for him thusfar. He...
  5. Wow, I just got off the phone with the pharmacist who made the Ketotifen I'm taking. I called him to find out if the capsule contained gelatin. I've been taking the powder out of the capsule cuz I wasnt sure but I also wanted to know if this would affect the absorption since I'm mixing it in water. The guy spent about half an hour talking to me about...
  6. I'm with everyone else on the Tinkyada.....get rid of the quinoa stuff...Tinkyada tatses like real pasta. Your hubby would probably like it too.
  7. I also dont think you're being overly sensitive. I think Tiffany gave some good advice. Talking it out may make things better for both of you....avoiding the issue isnt going to resolve anything. A 20 year friendship is valuable and the food situation is not something that should be allowed to come between that friendship. I think the best thing is to tell...
  8. Our bodies can produce excess mucus in response to an allergen but that is just one explanation....I'm sure there are other possibilities.
  9. Is he still on a normal glutenous diet? If he is have the doctor order the Celiac Panel. Its a bloodtest and if all the tests are run it will give you a good starting point. If anything comes back positive you may or may not want to proceed with a biopsy. Some people choose to just go ahead and begin the diet since the biopsy often gives false negatives....
  10. Be cautious with the oats. Some people react to them regardless of how gluten-free they are.
  11. Unfortunately, I dont think herbs or cleanses or anything of that nature is gonna solve it, thats just my opinion though. I think its more related to leaky gut...more toxins are able to go where they shouldnt be going. This is gonna put a toxic burden on the body...including the organs. When our bodies become overwhelmed with food intolerances, chemicals...
  12. Hmmm...looking back through my diaries every single time I ate a yam I had massive stools the following morning. Seems like I was smart enough back then to not continue eating them though. This time I ate about 6 yams before I clued in. I still had loose stools today but its probably not all out of my system after only one day. Guess I'll see what happens...
  13. My doctor had me on HLC High Potency probiotics. There were 2 different kinds...one with FOS and one without. He wanted me on the one without. ...I'll probably take it again in the future. I'll have to ask him about the MindlLinx next time....I looked it up and its actually alot cheaper than the one I was taking. Rinne, I'll try this techniquue...
  14. On the bright side my med doesnt seem to be having that much of an effect as far as the drowsiness. Maybe its too soon but I did feel it last night after taking my first pill...I've been fine after taking it 3 x today though. I'm starting to feel a little better than earlier today...it seems like my reactions get shorter. I'm not sure if its just because...
  15. C, Sorry you're feeling bad. I dont really have any advice for you except for to keep a detailed diary and try to figure out whats in your diet or environment thats causing reactions. Its taken me a long time to figure out some of my problem foods but we have to start somewhere. I dont know what your diet is like but I have to stay away from processed...
  16. Wow...I never heard of this. Mostly I cant believe there's actually something I dont react to!
  17. One thing is for sure...next time I see those massive loose stools I'm gonna do something about my diet right then and there. Everytime I get those stools something bad is always going on even if I feel fine when it starts. I gotta not ignore stuff like that...I'm just mad at myself tonite cuz I could have prevented this. I've been in a fog pretty much...
  18. Yeah...my vacation has started but I'm not doing anything special. I'm kind of bummed because I ran into some trouble again...I'm pretty sure its the Auxigro. This has got to be by far the most frusterating part of my whole ordeal. How can I ever get better if they put msg into the produce? I'll just keep getting sick everytime I try to add something...
  19. I was searching around the net looking for more info about the drug I'm taking. Right away I came across a post from a guy with pretty much the exact problems as me and then when I got to his second post I discovered that he must be seeing my doctor too!! How funny is that.....what are the chances. Anyways, she just put him on the same drug I'm taking......
  20. When I was growing up my mom cooked every night but I'm sure we had some fast food occasionally too. It wasnt until my teenage years and up that I got crazy with the fast food. I had never learned to cook so whatever I ate was either fast food, frozen, junk food, or mac & cheese. I ate a ton of bread too. I just rarely ate anything that was naturally...
  21. Digestive enzymes can be very helpful. However, they cannot stop or prevent the autoimmune response that occurs with gluten consumption. Even if you dont have Celiac....you are obviously gluten intolerant so you would still be experiencing an autoimmune reaction from gluten. The enzymes can aid in breaking down your food for easier digestion. Since most...
  22. OMG...how funny. SEEEEE.....I'm not the only one who "felt" something reading your post! You expressed yourself wonderfully and kind of brought your readers into the moment. Not many people can do that!
  23. Yeah....I know what you mean but I cant even stop at 8! I enjoyed reading your post. Actually as I was reading I was thinking that you're a very good writer. When I was reading about your grandparents it seemed like your words just flowed really well. I bet you would make a good writer.....I wouldnt be surprised if you've done some already...
  24. Thanks evie I dont think its new...I think its been around a long time. Its just not commercially available here in the US. I got it compounded from a compounding pharmacy in WA. P.S. I dont really think I'm a hypochondriach....well not yet at least. I was only kidding....I was really groggy when I wrote that last night. I went to bed at 83...
  25. Actually, its slower to show up in the blood. It would take months to show up in the blood. The reason your bloodtest showed numbers lower than Enterolab is because they are 2 different tests. Enterolab is more sensitive and picks up antibodies in stool long after you've been gluten-free. The antibodies will remain present in stool up to a year after you...
